Chapter 1257: Chapter 540: Revealing the Truth (2)

Although he encountered a setback, Har Harris finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Laine agree. The Vampire recounted to Laine and the others a series of events that occurred at Richard Castle.

Even though they were mentally prepared, Laine and the others were still shocked by the astonishing facts.

One incredible piece of news after another.

”The Northern Knightly Army almost completely wiped out? Only Kaled and Duke Hagen managed to break through with over nine hundred knights and less than three thousand imperial soldiers? Besides them, only over a hundred knights fled north?!”

”Lorne severely injured and rescued by his Horned Eagle Beast? Whereabouts unknown?!”

”Duke Aldred and Duke Fulcard have been turned into Vampires?!”

Everyone present was so shocked by these revelations that they were speechless. Fidmund opened his mouth for a long time but couldn’t utter a word, and Jerald instinctively glanced around. The Paladin’s thoughts were in disarray, and he subconsciously wanted to consult with Francois.

”For the Lady’s sake!” Mogiana’s expression completely changed, the Lake God Witch said angrily: ”No wonder there’s been no news from the Richard Castle side, it turns out that something like this happened?!”

The information was overwhelming, and even Laine took some time to digest it. He paced anxiously in the tent, showing displeasure: ”Damn! If that’s the case, can’t Mathew Bade directly head north through Leonais to attack Kulona?”

”Fidmund! Jerald!” Laine promptly issued an order without hesitation: ”Go check on the status of the Holy Grail Knights and the Kingdom Knights. The defeat of the Northern Knightly Army must not be leaked! If there are any rumors, eliminate them immediately!”

”Yes!” Fidmund and Jerald immediately stood up, both realizing the gravity of the situation.

”I’ll go check out the sergeants’ camp.” Teresa also joined in, and having never seen such a large-scale operation before, the female sorcerer smartly sensed something and stood up to leave.

Only Mogiana and Laine were left in the tent. The Lake God Witch’s face fluctuated between green and white, and thinking of the great loss of the Northern Knightly Army, Mogiana felt a tremendous fury rising in her chest. Her hand gripping the Potion Chalice turned pale: ”Speak, tell me everything you know about the collusion between the Great Demon of Tzeentch and Mathew Bade. Spill it all!”

”That day, the ’Chivalry Syndrome’ patients in the north... I mean, the knights led by Lorne sheltered a large number of refugees who then rioted.” Har Harris was still bound by the branches and thorns conjured by Mogiana’s Life Magic, and the Vampire Baron had no intention of breaking free. He continued: ”I realized then that this group of refugees was already corrupted by Chaos. From that moment on, I began to suspect that Mathew Bade had struck a deal with Chaos.”

”Then I overheard a conversation between Mathew Bade and the Great Demon of Tzeentch!” Har Harris’s face showed hatred: ”He actually surrendered to Tzeentch’s Demon Army. His actions have surpassed the boundaries of being a Vampire! I will no longer serve him. I must destroy this scum!”

”But you couldn’t do it, so you turned to Laine?” Mogiana’s jade eyes were filled with intense killing intent. She stomped her foot irritably, wishing to kill this treacherous Vampire on the spot.

She barely managed to suppress her fury.

The Vampire was right in some aspects; for now, Chaos was their common enemy: ”What about the Holy Artifact?”

”The Great Demon of Tzeentch’s goal in coming to the Mortal World is to collect Holy Artifacts.” Har Harris turned his head aside, revealing what he had overheard: ”This is the directive of the Chaos Evil God. The Master of Destiny wants to acquire the Duke of Musillon’s Crown and the Cavalry Lances of the twelve founding Holy Grail Knights!”

”Holy Artifacts? The Duke’s Crown! Cavalry Lances?” Laine reacted immediately to what Har Harris had said and quickly addressed Mogiana: ”If this Vampire’s words are true, then Duke Atuo Zilfroy’s Wild Boar Riding Spear has already fallen into the hands of the Great Demon of Tzeentch!”

After Zilfroy was defeated, his Riding Spear was stored in the castle of the Sharp-Top Palace. However, due to the hasty retreat and the deaths of the two Kingdom Knights responsible for guarding the Riding Spear, the Holy Artifact was buried under the ruins.

At that time, due to the Alliance Army’s inability to counter Tzeentch’s Demon Army, the retreat was very rushed. Laine, who was outside the city, only learned after retreating to the camp in the Charon Forest that the two Kingdom Knights guarding the Wild Boar Riding Spear had died, leading to the loss of the Holy Artifact.

”Each Holy Artifact can enhance the power of the Great Demon of Tzeentch.” Har Harris issued a chilling warning: ”Once the Great Demon of Tzeentch collects the eighth Holy Artifact, there will be no one capable of opposing it here.”

”The Cavalry Lances of the Duke of Leonais and the Duke of Montfort have already been obtained by the Great Demon of Tzeentch. Now, it has assembled three Divine Artifacts, and Lorne’s Lion’s Riding Spear is currently still in Mathew Bade’s possession. Mathew Bade is unwilling to hand over the Lion’s Riding Spear to the Great Demon of Tzeentch because he believes it belongs to him.” The Vampire Baron spoke as if discussing something completely unrelated to himself: ”But Mathew Bade’s wavering is only a matter of time; he has already been corrupted.”

”Belongs to him? Spoils of war?!” Laine questioned further.

”No, not spoils of war.” Har Harris suddenly lifted his head: ”It’s inheritance! Mathew Bade believes he has the rightful claim to everything Lorne owns, including his Duke title, including his Kingdom Regent title, and naturally, including his Lion’s Riding Spear.”
