Chapter 1134: Chapter 491: Sharing Life Experience (Part 3)

Fidmund was simply speechless with admiration. The Holy Grail Knight paused for a moment and then said, ”Lord Laine, since merchants are our friends and the Margaret Knights are also our friends, who exactly are our enemies?”

”Our enemies?” Laine laughed, ”Our enemies have always only been those rogue knights and those instigating vampires.”

”Is this what diplomacy is?” Fidmund said with deep understanding, ”Will Lord Laine try to avoid war through diplomatic means?”

”No, this only applies to humans, at most including Dwarfs and Elves.” Laine shook his head and laughed, ”If facing Chaos or Green Skin, I generally say much less, just one sentence.”

”What sentence?”

”Your horse is dead, and then you can start the war.”

”Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!”

Fidmund laughed heartily, and all the pent-up feelings of the past days dissipated: ”I like this way of expressing.”

”Alright, we’ve stayed outside long enough, it’s time to go back and prepare.”

”Hmm.”

Laine and Fidmund left the Central Garden and returned to the Margaret State Guesthouse.

Opening the door of the suite, Laine noticed Alfred sprawled on the sofa, the Temple Knight’s face showing some dejection. Seeing Laine and the others enter, Alfred merely raised his hand.

”How did it go, Afu, did everything go smoothly? Did you get her contact information? Do you know which mailbox to send your letters to her?” Laine joked.

”Not too smoothly, my good friend. Miss Claudia said she doesn’t plan to leave Margaret for now, she still has to work and can’t promise to go out with me, so I could only chat with her for a bit at the front desk.” Alfred said somewhat dejectedly, ”Of course, during the chat, I could sense that she was polite to me, but also distant, clearly not very interested in me. We talked about some daily life matters.”

”Oh~ what did she say?” Laine casually took a bottle of sherry from the liquor cabinet in the room, poured three glasses with a square-lipped crystal glass, and handed them to Alfred and Fidmund.

”She said... she’s still young and doesn’t plan to leave Margaret, she wants to continue her career, meet more people, and enrich herself.” Alfred reached out and took the sherry, ”As for matters of the heart, she plans to let nature take its course.”

”This is actually a kind of rejection, Mr. Alfred, we need to respect this lady’s choice.” Fidmund nodded, a very important virtue in the Knightly Path is to respect women.

”Be clear, Afu, did Miss Claudia set a price for herself?” Laine asked with a smile.

”Set a price?” Alfred was a bit puzzled.

”Did she mention any requirements for a boyfriend?” Laine continued.

”She did... she hopes her future boyfriend would have a villa or Knight’s Castle no smaller than 150 square meters, an annual income of no less than 800 Gold Crowns, a fine steed, must be at least a Half-Elf Warhorse, in addition to being handsome, and hold a noble title above a Kingdom Knight...” Alfred became more and more dejected as he spoke, ”And there’s much more after that...”

”Do you think she’s worth that price?” Laine calmly continued to ask.

”Lord Laine, it’s not very appropriate for you to evaluate a lady like that...” Fidmund interjected, somewhat displeased, ”How can you comment on this lady as if she’s a commodity?”

”She’s already set her price, Fidmund, she’s treated herself like a commodity. Talking about the Knightly Path and respect after that?” Laine’s words made Fidmund shut his mouth, ”You can only choose one, either it’s a respectful exchange or a straightforward transaction.”

”My good friend! I really like her, I know you’re best at dealing with women, can you help me?” Alfred said, as if clutching at a lifeline.

”Hey... Afu, what about your morning lessons?” Laine looked pained.

”This is the request of my life!”

”Your life’s request is to be a foremost love-struck fool?! Isn’t that a bit too cheap?!”
