Chapter 1103: Chapter 479: Clues About the Rogue Knights

At four-thirty in the afternoon, inside the officer’s dining room of Boldro’s Great Sailboat ”Manannan’s Fury,” Laine gave Fidmund detailed instructions: ”We’re not just giving these gifts away for free. Once we catch those Rogue Knights, and the mastermind behind them, if there’s evidence proving the Estalians were directing them, we can take our weapons directly to Margaret’s Main Temple of Mirmidia and demand an explanation from Archbishop Giovanni or Lorenzo.”

Isabella Giovanni, Archbishop of Mirmidia, the most powerful person in Estalia, a woman.

Lorenzo Marco, leader of the Flying Eagle Knight Order.

These two individuals possess unparalleled political influence in Estalia, even the strongest Duke Margaret Rubio-the Sun Watcher does not dare to provoke them. After all, more than half of Estalia’s army are followers of Mirmidia.

Fidmund frowned, remaining silent, his expression shifting as a newly appointed Holy Grail Knight, the reason unknown to anyone.

Ollica let out a cold laugh, the Dark Elf mocked the humans for using such troublesome methods to retrieve their belongings while wondering why the Boldro Duke’s legitimate son had such limited intelligence.

For the Dark Elves, from childhood they must endure endless bloodshed, slaughter, and conspiracy, even as adults they can’t afford a moment of relaxation. Ollica is no exception, eternally tasting conflict, passing her life amidst murder and intrigue, until she became Laine’s maid...

Yet the Master is the most handsome and powerful! The Dark Elf thought gleefully.

Laine somewhat understood why Duke Bodric wanted him to mentor his son.

As a Holy Grail Knight, Fidmund’s martial valor and virtues are commendable.

But as a ducal heir, Fidmund’s political maneuvering and sensitivity are lacking. After the long Holy Grail Expedition, Fidmund has become fond of resorting to force and invoking Knightly Path virtues to solve problems.

Duke Bodric is displeased with this, and the awkward part is here. Duke Bodric is not a Holy Grail Knight, sometimes making it difficult for him to reprimand Fidmund’s actions.

So, I am here to mentor your son, right? Laine thought to himself.

Forget it, mentoring this future ducal heir has many advantages, Laine needs firm relations like this, Francois is one, and Fidmund will be in the future. Moreover, Duke Bodric’s conditions are indeed favorable.

”This is not quite as I imagined; I thought upon arriving at Bilibali we could start investigating immediately. It now seems not that simple.” Fidmund could refute Bodric’s guidance because his father is not a Holy Grail Knight. However, the man before him is not only the Holy Grail Knight Commander but also the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy.

”This is the Mortal World, the Human Realm. We are people of order, ruling our subjects through faith and law. Likewise, since we are to set foot in Estalia, we must interact with the local nobles.” Laine took a sip of Imperial Black Beer, then continued: ”Humans are social beings, we can’t act under the pretense of searching for Rogue Knights to launch imperialistic actions. Then, how are we different from the Chaos-worshipping Norsca people?”

”But... our current clues are scarce.” Fidmund finally accepted Laine’s views reluctantly, yet due to the theft of his family heirloom coupled with the desecration of ancestral graves, he merely temporarily calmed down: ”If too much time is wasted, I am worried those Rogue Knights might move the Sea God Trident.”

”How did you confirm the Rogue Knights are in the Bilibali Duchy?” Laine asked further.

Fidmund began detailing the background of the situation.

After the tomb was robbed, Duke Bodric’s first thought was that the Vampire armies of the northern Musillon sought to steal the Sea God Trident. He thus deployed an army to guard all ports and the Musillon quarantine zone, examining travelers and passersby, yet failed to find the Sea God Trident.

When Duke Bodric was at a loss, Sea God Manannan sent him a dream, revealing the thief was heading south. The Boldro Duke immediately led the Sea God Knights southward and eventually captured a... peasant in Borelion.

The peasant voluntarily approached Duke Bodric to fawn over him, claiming to have news of Rogue Knights and seeking reward, but the impatient Duke resorted to torturing the peasant, who was beaten half to death, and his mouth was forcefully pried open. It turned out this group of Rogue Knights had premeditated intentions, exploiting Borelion’s chaos to station there; this peasant had accidentally overheard their conversation while hunting in the mountains.

A few Estalians paid heavily to hire these Rogue Knights to steal the Sea God Trident, agreeing to deliver the goods within the forests near Bilibali Duchy.

This is the story’s course. The peasant knew nothing else, and quite some time has passed since the event, surely the Rogue Knights are near Bilibali preparing for delivery.

”I see, so we must seize the Sea God Trident from their hands before the Rogue Knights complete their delivery?” Veronica also sensed the difficulty of the situation. Conducting military operations in another country always required extreme caution; one misstep could lead to facing an entire nation’s wrath.
