Chapter 1127: Chapter 488: Meeting the Great Alchemist (Part 3)

Leaving the camp, they found a small grove, and the two walked one after the other. The sun in Estalia was glaring, and the forest here, far from Chaos corruption, was vibrant and full of life, with birds chirping and flowers blooming.

The Great Alchemist was clad in golden scale armor, a golden mask, a golden staff, and a golden cloak, appearing tacky yet exuding immense authority. Laine walked behind him with hands clasped, smiling, ”What does our Great Alchemist wish to discuss with me?”

”Recently, a significant event has occurred in the Empire, involving you,” Gaerte said quietly. ”As a result, all the Prince-Electors are convening the Imperial Council in Brunswick.”

A major event? Laine’s eyes darted, and he quickly realized something, ”Amelia... no, is it Emmanuelle?”

”Correct, Emmanuelle von Lebowitz-Bernardino, this noble miss who had been missing for years, returned to Nuer with the escort of a great army. She then assumed the position of Duchess of Nuer, backed by the Nuer Nobles, Nuer Wizard Guild, and Nuer Iron Armor Army,” Biersaze Gaerte calmly recounted the recent major events in the Empire. ”However, Duchess Emmanuelle is not content. She has formally submitted a lawsuit to the Imperial Council, claiming that the position of Prince-Elector meant for her and the position of Grand Duke of Weisen were unlawfully usurped. She demands Emperor Carl Franz and the Prince-Electors deliver justice for her.”

”This doesn’t sound easy,” Laine nodded. Amelia naturally had a strong claim to the Brescia Prince-Elector and Grand Duke of Weisen titles, but having a claim is one thing, and being able to assume the positions smoothly is another.

”The Emperor has received this lawsuit, and the Imperial Council is officially convened. All Prince-Electors are heading to Brunswick Palace. At the Imperial Council, Emmanuelle used the Prince-Elector’s Holy Sword to prove her identity,” Gaerte continued. ”Currently, however, representatives from the Schroder family, who are regents in the Weisen Territory, argue that while Emmanuelle’s identity is not in question, she lacks understanding of her domain’s specific situation and a series of threats Weisen faces. Additionally, without an heir, the Bernardino family’s direct lineage will go extinct.”

”That’s not the point. The focus should be that Gani should relinquish all his titles, right? Those titles he usurped illegally; Emmanuelle deserves to reclaim everything of hers,” Laine remarked curiously.

”Indeed, His Majesty Emperor Carl considers the Schroder family’s argument to be sheer nonsense. Boris Prince-Elector even demanded the Schroder family’s representative leave immediately,” Gaerte nodded. ”However, clearly, the Schroder family does not lack allies. For instance, Utebad Prince-Elector and Duke Stier, Lord Albert, and Beikafen Prince-Elector and Ostmark Alliance Speaker Wolfram believe that the Imperial Council is not a one-man show by the Emperor. The Schroder family and current Prince-Elector Gani have the right to speak at the Imperial Council.”

”What are their conditions?” Laine asked further.

”The Schroder family’s condition is that Emmanuelle must marry Gian Bernardino, transferring the Prince-Elector title through marriage. Simultaneously, Emmanuelle must spend at least six months each year in Weisenburg, undergoing Prince-Elector education,” Gaerte explained.

”Marry, have an heir, and undergoing education means being confined,” Laine raised an eyebrow. ”Until she bears an heir, Amelia will be of no use.”

”Naturally, Emmanuelle does not accept this,” the Great Alchemist halted and turned to look at Laine. ”She revealed two facts that shocked all the Prince-Electors of the Imperial Council.”

”First, the current Prince-Elector, Gian Bernardino, is also a woman! This is the deepest secret of her distant relative, and it is clear the Schroder family got something wrong.”

”Second, she is already pregnant. The father of the child is the renowned human hero, Laine Macado, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy. This child will inherit all her future titles. She has an heir!”

”Very well,” Laine nodded earnestly, pondered a moment, then continued, ”So, what should I do? What should I do to help Emi... Emmanuelle?”

”You should...”
