Chapter 1107: Chapter 480: Estalia Duelist_3

Upon seeing Laine and his group, the guards’ initial reaction wasn’t one of alertness, but rather, they glanced over Veronica and Ollica before noticing the Holy Grail Knight Badges on the chests of Fidmund and Laine.

They shivered involuntarily, as the Holy Grail Knights, the premier knightly order of the Old World, were renowned from Kislev to Estalia.

The expression on these guards was as if they had been bitten by a viper. They immediately stood upright, with the lead guard, wearing a triangular helmet, shouting: ”Brittania people? Please state your names and purposes!”

”I am Count Glamorgan, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy, Laine Macado. I have matters to discuss with His Grace Duke Silva.” Laine stepped forward, speaking with a casual tone: ”Could you relay the message for me?”

”Uh, hello, Lord Laine.” The guards had naturally heard of Laine’s name, and his Holy Grail Knight Badge was not something that could be faked. In this world of deities, no one dared to forge a knight’s badge.

Facing this human hero, the guard’s tone softened significantly: ”I’m sorry, but the Duke is not at home right now.”

”Where has your Duke gone?” Fidmund furrowed his brows, suppressing his impatience as a Holy Grail Knight, he pressed on: ”We have urgent matters to discuss with him.”

”The Duke has gone to the arena.” The guard leader thought that the appearance of these two Holy Grail Knights signified major trouble, yet they couldn’t avoid answering Laine’s inquiry, so he responded evasively: ”Today, there is a spectacular bullfighting match in the arena. A valiant Estalian, Sword Master Fernandez-Vazquez, will be dueling a captured Fur-Wearing Rhinoceros! If Mr. Vazquez achieves victory, he will receive five hundred Exelants!”

Exelant, a currency minted by the Estalians, is slightly inferior compared to the Empire’s Gold Mark and Brittania’s Gold Crown. Five hundred Exelants is roughly equivalent to two hundred Gold Crowns.

Laine and his companions had to retrace their steps, heading down the mountain path towards the arena.

”Dear, do you really intend to find the Duke at the arena? This will make us far too exposed!” On the way down, Veronica expressed her hesitation: ”The arena is filled with people, and there may even be some of those rogue knights mixed in.”

”That doesn’t matter. We aren’t afraid of any actions the rogue knights take; rather, we fear them lying low in and around this city.” Laine pondered for a moment and then stated seriously: ”Only if they act can we more easily find clues. What do you think my first reaction would be if I were a rogue knight, seeing people from Boldro finding their way here?”

”To subconsciously notify the Estalian employer to deliver the goods quickly.” The Dark Elf said from behind her veil.

”The Sea God Knights and sailors would keep an eye on all happenings within the city.” Fidmund nodded repeatedly.

After passing through three streets, they arrived at the arena.

”Ladies and gentlemen! Today, a grand duel will take place here! This will be the most spectacular duel Bilibali has witnessed in the last two years!”

”The opponents are... A pure-blooded descendant of the Basque family, the handsome and dashing Fencing Master, Fernandez-Vazquez!”

A man with long brown hair, a narrow face, high-bridged nose, slightly dark skin, and medium build, wearing half plate armor and a kite helmet adorned with three feathers, entered the arena to cheers, holding a rapier and a piece of red cloth.

”And from the western Black Mountain Range... the Fur-Wearing Rhinoceros!”

A ferocious rhinoceros, about four meters tall and three meters long, topped with two sharp horns, was bound by dozens of chains and led into the arena by the soldiers.

”Prepare for the duel to begin!”

The bullfighting music started, marking the beginning of the match.
