Chapter 1119: Chapter 486: It Was All a Vampire Conspiracy!

PS: This Chapter is 4,700 words long. Enjoy yourselves!

The entire inn had already crumbled to pieces because of this accident, and the travelers and the innkeeper were fleeing for their lives in panic.

Both Fidmund, Alfred, and Ollica had suffered serious injuries, but at this point, Fidmund and Alfred realized that after such a huge incident, the guards would definitely arrive very soon.

Fidmund’s injuries were still manageable; the Holy Grail Knight could still stand up. Although the Secret Silver Plate Armor on his chest had been torn to shreds, the armor had effectively stopped the Vampire’s claws from digging in too deep. The wound was still far from his heart, merely tearing open the skin.

Alfred had been slammed hard. The Temple Knight’s internal organs all showed signs of internal bleeding. Just as Laine had once said, the Holy Shield Skill, in a sense, was not truly completely invincible. At least this one fall had been all too real. The Temple Knight found that his whole body hurt, and he even suspected that his leg had been broken.

”Unbelievable. The three of us together actually took down a High-Rank Vampire!” Despite his severe injuries, Alfred was still as optimistic as ever. He said happily, ”My God above, if I report to Archbishop Vikma that the three of us finished off a High-Rank Vampire with no casualties, he’ll definitely reward me with at least three Divine Art Scrolls!”

In the Empire, killing this kind of High-Rank Vampire generally relied on ample preparation plus sheer numbers, piling on until it died.

”Cut the nonsense. Can you still stand? The guards will be here any moment. We have to get out of here!” Fidmund thought, at a time like this you’re still thinking about rewards?

”I’m only saying this because I can’t stand up!” Alfred said helplessly. He pinned his hopes on the Dark Elf: ”Lady Ollica, can you teleport us away? Including that Wandering Knight’s corpse and this Vampire’s corpse?”

The Dark Elf was the least injured. She had fallen into a pile of straw and only suffered some minor scrapes, though the left side of her face had swollen up. Hearing Alfred’s question, Ollica closed her eyes and calculated the remaining Magic Power in the Spirit Runes on her lower abdomen, the casting distance, and the total number of people she could teleport.

Thirty seconds later, Ollica opened her eyes. She nodded. ”Barely enough. But you need to be mentally prepared. My Dark Magic will make you feel very unpleasant.”

”Still better than getting caught by the guards and thrown into a dungeon.” Alfred signaled that Ollica could proceed.

Although Fidmund was somewhat displeased with the Dark Elf’s ambush and the Temple Knight’s use of firearms, the Holy Grail Knight also understood how hard-won this victory had been. He too nodded. ”Please be quick, Lady Ollica.”

The Dark Elf began chanting the Spell. By the time the guards, alerted by the commotion, entered the inn under the innkeeper’s lead, the people inside had already vanished, leaving behind nothing but a scene of utter devastation.

...I am the teleportation divider line...

Late at night, at the Cod Inn in Bilibali.

This inn had been fully taken over by the Sea God Knights as their temporary stronghold. A large number of fully armed Sea God Knights were currently lodging here.

The entire city had just been thrown into chaos by the explosion and bloody incident at the Red Bull Inn, causing the city guards to hunt down suspects and suspicious individuals everywhere. Torches in hand, the guards were going door to door, searching for any possible clues.

The Cod Inn, where the Sea God Knights were stationed, was also questioned by the city guards. However, because of Brittania’s might and the fear inspired by the Sea God Fleet, the guards truly only dared to question them a little; they definitely did not dare to go inside and conduct a search.

This was the Southern Realm, where the nobles each ruled their own territory and had never been unified. Their power was scattered, and they were all content with self-rule. When faced with truly powerful countries like the Empire and Brittania, which could concentrate their strength, the nobles here usually turned cowardly and kept a very low profile.

Some sufficiently powerful Imperial Army units dared to openly march into Estalia’s borders, and the cowardly nobles of the Southern Realm, aside from formal protests, at most demanded some monetary compensation.

Inside the brightly lit inn room, two stone tables stood side by side, and on them lay two corpses.

One was the already dead Wandering Knight, and the other was the High-Rank Vampire that had been hacked into several pieces, its heart dug out.

”Ugh~” Temple Knight Alfred was badly injured; his calf had been broken. After examination by the Sea God Knights’ military Doctor, he might need about two months of recuperation.

At this moment, Alfred was leaning over by the courtyard, retching nonstop. His face was pale, and he vomited up everything he had eaten during the day.

To the Temple Knight, teleportation via Dark Magic was like being stuffed into a sewer and sent on a tour through the city’s entire sewage system. By the time he came out, Alfred had nearly passed out and immediately collapsed by the corridor, vomiting his guts out.

Although Holy Grail Knight Fidmund was also very uncomfortable, he had experienced the Holy Grail Expedition; his willpower and endurance far surpassed that of ordinary men. Gasping for breath, he loosened his armor to let the Sea God Knights apply salve to his wound and wrap it in bandages, all the while studying this High-Rank Vampire they had slain.

”This is a Vampire from the Lemya Sisterhood.” After examining the High-Rank Vampire, Fidmund sank somewhat dejectedly onto the bench. The Holy Grail Knight panted, ”A High-Rank Vampire of the Lemya Sisterhood... I have no idea why she would appear here.”
