Chapter 1895: Chapter 1896: I Was Truly Wrong

For her elder brother, Feng Feiyan was willing to give up the imperial throne. He could support her being with his brother, but to completely accept her as his sister-in-law? Not now, not ever, he thought.

Whenever he thought of Feng Feiyan, he thought of the few strands of white hair on his father’s and mother’s heads.

His heart ached.

He felt pain for his parents.

At that moment, Su Yixing actually felt like killing Feng Feiyan. If not for this person in front of him, how would his brother ever have gone to Wufeng to suffer such grievances? And how could his parents be so upset and have white hairs?

Feng Feiyan noticed Su Yixing’s obvious dislike, her smile stiffened a little, but soon, she bounced back and thanked Su Yixing.

She wasn’t foolish; she truly understood why Su Yixing disliked her so much.

If her brother was so wronged to marry into someone else’s family as a junior partner, she wouldn’t like that sister-in-law either.

She truly understood.

Feng Tianji and the Empress Dowager were so happy that they didn’t notice the difference in Su Yixing’s attitude towards Feng Feiyan compared to them.

Su Yi Jing noticed it but said nothing, instead he secretly squeezed Feng Feiyan’s hand, comforting her and telling her not to mind his second brother.

Feng Feiyan immediately smiled at him, signaling that she was fine and wouldn’t hold grudges against Su Yixing.

How could she possibly hold a grudge against Su Yixing? It’s only human nature, and as a sister-in-law, she should have a forgiving heart towards her younger siblings.

...

Frequently entering and exiting the Wufeng Imperial Palace was too troublesome, so Su Yixing stayed in the Wufeng Imperial Palace to treat Feng Tianji’s illness, intending to leave the palace once Feng Tianji no longer needed him.

Because he would be departing for Xiyun to see his parents the next day, that night, Su Yi Jing lay in bed holding Feng Feiyan, hesitated for a long while, and finally spoke, asking, ”Tomorrow I will go back to see my parents; this journey will last more than two months. You won’t blame me, will you?”

Feng Feiyan immediately said, ”How could I blame you! Just go! We’ll handle Zou Qian and their matters when the time is right. Your father’s illness is also being treated by Yi Xing; there’s nothing for you to worry about; you can stay with your parents for a while before coming back. Your parents really cherish you; if it were me, I wouldn’t recognize you as my son anymore. How can you let your parents...”

She had always been filial, and she couldn’t treat her parents like how Su Yi Jing did to his father and mother-in-law.

Su Yi Jing laughed: ”Saying that makes me feel more guilty, but indeed, I am unfilial.”

”But your lack of filial piety is for me...” After a pause, Feng Feiyan continued, ”Yi Jing, if I truly have the chance to serve your parents one day, I will definitely take good care of them to make up for your current mistakes.”

Mistake...

Su Yi Jing paused, then sighed, ”Perhaps I really was wrong, but I do not regret it. It’s just that my heart feels heavy. Yi Xing said that because of me, my father and mother have white hairs now.”

Upon hearing that An Jing and Xiao Changyi also had white hairs, Feng Feiyan felt equally distressed.

Her father had been sick for so many years, yet he didn’t have white hair.

...

The next day, Su Yi Jing embarked on his journey back to Xiyun. Feng Feiyan prepared numerous unique Wufeng specialties for Su Yi Jing to take back to An Jing and Xiao Changyi, as a token of her kindness.

With his second brother in Wufeng, he had nothing to worry about, so Su Yi Jing returned to Xiyun with peace of mind.

After spending a full twenty-two days, Su Yi Jing finally arrived at the place where An Jing and Xiao Changyi were secluded.
