Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1866: Chapter 1867: Don’t Even Think About It!

An Jing and Xiao Changyi were quite happy for Su Yi Jing’s return, but upon learning why Yi Jing was back, their happiness quickly dissipated.

An Jing handed An Baobei to Tobanya, letting Tobanya take An Baobei elsewhere.

Once Tobanya had left with An Baobei, An Jing and Xiao Changyi remained silent.

Su Yi Jing waited a little longer, noticing that An Jing and Xiao Changyi still had no intention to speak, he knelt before them and said: ”Father, Mother, please grant me your blessing.”

An Jing saw Su Yi Jing kneeling, beseeching them, and her eyes immediately reddened, ”What are you asking us to allow? Allow you to become a consort? Yes, your father married into my family, and even if I love only him all my life and have him alone, I still feel it wronged him. But look at you, she has already married three men, if you also marry in, you won’t become the true husband, you would just be like those women who are concubines, do you understand? Do you want to break our hearts?”

Towards the end, An Jing was unable to stop the tears, crying inconsolably.

This is her beloved son, she doesn’t ask for him to have wealth and glory, she only hopes he lives well, but now, how is his life any good?

”Mother, please don’t cry.” Su Yi Jing couldn’t bear to see his mother in tears, he immediately grew worried, hurriedly offering a silk handkerchief for An Jing to wipe her tears.

But An Jing refused to wipe her tears, crying as she said: ”You’ve been sensible since childhood, your father and I have seldom had to manage you, but now you wish to endure such misery, there’s no way we would agree, don’t even think about it! You should forget about Feng Feiyan, from the moment she left a note and departed, I felt you and her were destined to be apart!”

Su Yi Jing immediately replied: ”Mother, I’m not suffering, I’m just unwilling to accept this. She’s still wearing the token I gave her, clearly showing she still cares for me. I thought I could move on, but when I saw her, saw her wearing the peach pit I gave her, I realized I’ve never truly let go, I’ve been deceiving myself all along.”

”Even if she still cares for you, she has married three men. There’s no way your father and I will agree to let you be someone’s concubine, not unless we’re dead.” An Jing doesn’t want to separate the lovers, but it’s simply too demeaning for her son. It’s truly too demeaning.

The mere thought makes her heart ache desperately for her son.

Her cherished son, how could he be someone’s concubine? She would never agree, not for anything!

”Mother, I won’t marry her as your son, I’ll marry her as a farmer’s son, Xiao Yijing. I won’t bring shame upon you.”

”Your father and I don’t care about shame!” An Jing was particularly agitated. ”Your father and I care about whether you can have a good life! She has married three already, and you’ll just be another, four men sharing her. Can you have a good life there? Your father and I don’t believe it!”

Su Yi Jing hurriedly said: ”She has married three now, but I will make sure she ends up with just me. I can’t accept sharing her with others, if eventually I can’t be her one and only... Father, Mother, give me five years, if after five years, I still can’t be her one and only, I’ll give up, I’ll come back and never see her again. Please grant me this!”

With that, Su Yi Jing bowed his head to An Jing and Xiao Changyi.
