Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1885: Chapter 1886: What, Haven’t We Fought Enough?

”I won’t mess around, don’t worry.” Su Yi Jing held her a little tighter, comforting her.

The two of them were unclothed, their bare skin pressed closely together, and even though Feng Feiyan was sore all over, her face turned even redder.

”By the way,” Su Yi Jing continued, ”I’ve already asked my second brother to come to the capital. He should arrive in about ten days. He’s a skilled doctor, and perhaps he can treat your father, the Emperor.”

Her father, the Emperor, had seen countless renowned doctors who couldn’t figure out a solution. Feng Feiyan wasn’t very confident that Su Yixing could cure her father, but she was still quite happy that Su Yi Jing had shown this concern: ”Hmm.”

Soon after, she lowered her gaze: ”Yi Jing, will you listen to me and return to Xiyun? Being this noble consort here is really unfair to you. I don’t want you to be like this.”

Su Yi Jing shook his head and said, ”I don’t feel wronged. I just know that if I don’t take this role as the noble consort, how could I rightfully take you back? If I don’t take this role, what we have now would be considered an affair and infidelity. Even if you and I can accept this, my parents couldn’t. Although I entered your home as a son-in-law in the role of a farmer’s son, I’m still my parents’ son. I’ve already failed in my filial duties; I can’t be even more unfilial.”

Compared to marrying into another family, acting in deceitful intimacy and infidelity was even more unacceptable to his parents. He just couldn’t do that.

He had to make everything legitimate and proper.

So, he insisted on being the noble consort. Of course, it’s only temporary. In the future, he’ll still return to Xiyun, continuing as the Crown Prince of Xiyun, the good son of his parents.

”So that’s another reason you had to consider...” Feng Feiyan understood. Then, she blamed herself: ”It’s all my fault... They all think I’m a woman, and even if I’m the Emperor, I’m afraid I can’t manage Wufeng well. They’re afraid I can’t keep my reign, so Wufeng wouldn’t be stable. So, they asked me to marry some strong men from maternal families to support me.”

After pausing, she added, ”If one day, I no longer have to be the Emperor, I’ll definitely go back to Xiyun with you and be filial to your parents.”

”Hearing you say this, my coming to Wufeng to find you was not in vain.” Su Yi Jing felt truly comforted in his heart.

Noticing Feng Feiyan frowning, seemingly uncomfortable, Su Yi Jing immediately asked, ”Are you in a lot of pain? Should I call an Imperial Physician to take a look?”

Feng Feiyan shook her head vigorously, indicating no. Her face was even more red. In such matters, she was embarrassed to have an Imperial Physician examine her.

”So, are you going to Zou Qian tonight?” Su Yi Jing snorted, clearly jealous again.

”Well, I don’t want to, but tradition mandates that I must go today, otherwise my father and mother would nag me again. But even if I go, we still stay in separate rooms, don’t worry.” Feng Feiyan spoke in a very low voice.

Su Yi Jing laughed and cried: ”With you like this, you still plan to go to his palace?”

Feng Feiyan tried to get up, realized she still couldn’t get up by herself, so she gave up, continuing to let Su Yi Jing hold her, muttering, ”I’ll just say I’m unwell and won’t go today.”

”You’re not allowed to go in the future either!” he said in a particularly domineering tone.

Feng Feiyan looked at Su Yi Jing in a daze, feeling like the Su Yi Jing she knew had returned—gentle yet direct, direct yet domineering. This made her nod unknowingly: ”I won’t go again in the future.”

Then, she felt a bit incredulous: ”Have we reconciled just like this?”

Su Yi Jing raised an eyebrow: ”What? Haven’t we argued enough?”

Feng Feiyan immediately shook her head: ”No, I just feel it’s a bit unreal.”
