Chapter 1893: Chapter 1894: Unable to Bring Myself to Strike

Su Yixing saw Su Yijing not speaking, and he couldn’t be bothered to say anything either. He sat down on the chair next to him, and Huo Qingyi immediately poured a cup of tea and handed it to him. Then, he took the tea, his face dark as he drank it.

After a long silence, even though Su Yijing’s mood hadn’t calmed, he spoke: ”Do me this favor and come with me to the palace to see her father, okay?”

Su Yixing instantly flared up, violently smashing the teacup in his hand, glaring angrily at him: ”All you care about is her father, don’t you care about our parents? It’s clear you’ve married into the family, our parents aren’t yours anymore! Great, it’s like our parents raised you for nothing!”

Su Yijing felt both upset and helpless: ”Yi Xing, what are you talking about? How could our parents not be my parents? They’ll always be my parents. I know I’m unfilial, and I know you’re angry, but one thing doesn’t change another. Be reasonable.”

Su Yixing sneered: ”Why should I be reasonable? I don’t have a saintly disposition. What does her father have to do with me? Why should I treat him?”

”Would you please do it for me?” Su Yijing was very helpless. ”If you want me to kneel, I will.”

”You!” Su Yixing was furious, genuinely wanting to slap his big brother, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

He just snarled, extremely angry, cursing his brother: ”Do you really have no heart for our parents? You care so much about someone else’s father, yet you don’t show any concern for our own! Hurting Dad and Mom! Haven’t you noticed their white hair? Doesn’t it make you feel bad? Huh?!”

How could Su Yijing not care about his parents, but seeing his brother like this, his heart ached even more, clearly showing their parents were really living poorly now.

He choked out: ”I’ll go home and see them tomorrow.”

Since he found out their parents had gray hair, he had planned on it. He feared if he stayed here for five years until he went back, his parents would have aged terribly. He had to go back and see them.

He definitely had to go back and see them.

On hearing Su Yijing wanted to go home, Su Yixing’s anger dissipated instantly but he was a bit skeptical: ”Really?”

Su Yijing nodded and said: ”Really.” After a pause, ”You said our parents have gray hair, how could I stay here any longer.”

”Then go back now!” To Su Yixing, if his big brother went back to look, their parents would at least feel better.

The sooner his big brother returned, the sooner his parents would feel better.

”I’ll go back after I take you to the palace to see her father, okay?” Seeing Su Yixing seemingly on the verge of another outburst, Su Yijing quickly added, ”Yi Xing, he’s my father-in-law, it’s my responsibility too.”

He spoke with great helplessness.

”Aren’t you married into the family? What’s this father-in-law nonsense.” Su Yixing sarcastically ridiculed without any tact.

”I may be married into the family now, but it won’t always be like this. Your sister-in-law is willing to give up the Wufeng throne to go back to Xiyun with me, it’s just that the timing isn’t right yet.”

Su Yixing was taken aback, ”She’s really willing to give up the throne?”

”When have I ever lied to you?” Su Yijing retorted.

Su Yixing just snorted, not saying anything.

Seeing Su Yixing was softening, Su Yijing quickly continued: ”My plan is, see if you can cure her father. He’s only thirty-four, so young. If he’s healed, the ministers will surely suggest he retake the Wufeng throne. Although Wufeng seems to have accepted her as Empress, they still hope for a male ruler.”
