Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1138 - 610: Life Inside the World Tree—Ease and Laziness (Part 2)

In short, let’s satisfy ourselves first.

”Haha, they’re building a home, and here we are doing something like this.”

Xu Xin chuckled and pinched Li Wenxi’s cheek.

After the improvement from the gene enhancement and just a bit of sweat, the feel was smoother than before.

”Uh... don’t talk about that, I’m starting to feel guilty.” Li Wenxi buried her head, ”I just remembered, I still haven’t gone down to mine yet...”

”It hasn’t been that long, right?” Xu Xin gazed at the ceiling, stretching and relaxing his body, ”For you, it’s only been over an hour.”

”But we were out for twenty minutes.” Li Wenxi murmured, ”For them, it’s almost two days.”

”Almost two days... for inside the world tree, it probably doesn’t matter,” Xu Xin glanced out the window, ”it’s just... two days.”

In this hundredfold accelerated time flow, his entire state of mind... became quite sluggish.

Every minute that passed here, not even a second passed outside. Every hour that passed here, less than a minute had passed outside.

Such thoughts constantly impacted his mind.

Who wouldn’t feel lazy in this?

Even if there might be a stone statue attack the next day... so what?

As long as you live inside the world tree, it would be something happening a hundred days, three months later.

The abundance of time here was frankly absurd.

Contrasted strongly with the previous sense of racing against time, where every activity was limited to so many hours, and time was life itself.

If living outside meant staying in a constant state of tension, arriving inside this world tree made that string instantly relax.

It wasn’t just him; the other explorers felt the same, especially those who had already enjoyed half a month of happy life before he did.

The most evident one was Wen Guixin.

Always anxious by nature, Wen Guixin now preferred to idly watch the scenery from the window, speaking much less during discussions than before.

The others were similar too.

The tension they felt before was largely gone.

It was only after Ji Chaoyang spoke of his prediction for the next day that everyone got restless again, but it turned out to be the next day in the outside world, so they quickly resumed that subtle laziness.

Actually, this is normal.

With time so exceedingly abundant now, they were fully entitled to relax.

Speaking of which, the most motivated among them was Xu Ying.

After all, her situation was far from optimistic right now.

However, Xu Xin thought maybe the previous plan could be postponed by a few days.

Taking the opportunity to relax a bit before proceeding further.

Because it wouldn’t waste much time outside anyway.

Hmm... wait, relaxing is fine, but...

At least we should find Lou Fei’Er and the others first.

It’s like a dinner gathering; it feels uncomfortable to start eating when everyone hasn’t arrived yet.

”Alright, alright!” Xu Xin sat up from the bed, patting his face to become a bit clearer-headed, ”Now we really need to get down to business!”

”Uh... we need to bring Fei’Er and others back, right?” Li Wenxi also sat up, ”You didn’t contact them when you were outside just now?”

”Of course I did, when you jumped into the lake and started scrubbing crazily,” Xu Xin said with a smile, though there was a hint of worry in his eyes, ”but they didn’t pick up.”

When outside, he tried sending voice messages to Lou Fei’Er, Shi Wanyun, and Jin Yue.

But there was no response.

This made him slightly uneasy, which was one reason he managed to resist the huge temptation he faced while in the lake outside.

Anxiety. You can’t waste precious time outside.

But within the world tree, this anxiety got diluted a hundredfold.

”Huh?” Li Wenxi’s expression changed suddenly, starting to worry, ”Then let’s quickly find them! There’s no time for this...”

”It’s no big deal...” Xu Xin pursed his lips, ”It’s only been a few dozen seconds outside.”

”Well... maybe that’s... right.” Li Wenxi first froze for a moment, then sighed, ”A hundredfold time is really the biggest cheat!”

”But now we do need to get serious.”

The two stood up, got dressed, and descended from the treehouse.

”Finished?” Below the treehouse, Qi Xuefei smiled at the two.

”Sister Xuefei?” Li Wenxi was suddenly a bit dumbfounded, ”When did you get here?”

”Twenty minutes ago?” Qi Xuefei’s tone carried a hint of teasing.

”Uh...” Li Wenxi’s face turned slightly red, ”Why didn’t you just call us then?”

”Hmm... next time, remember to close the window.” Qi Xuefei replied nonchalantly.

”... Ah!” Li Wenxi quickly turned her head upwards, only to find the window was slightly ajar, ”Ah this... ah ah!!”

She crouched down and covered her face directly.

Xu Xin also turned a bit red in embarrassment.

This was truly...

”Ugh... I’m too ashamed to face anyone now...”

”Alright, you two, everyone’s waiting for you. There’s something to discuss, come quickly.” Qi Xuefei couldn’t help but laugh, then reminded them, before turning back to walk away.

Sister Xuefei’s perception of time, along with everyone’s, had been altered quite a bit by this hundredfold time flow.

Xu Xin watched Qi Xuefei’s back, secretly sighing.

If it was outside, she could never wait below for twenty minutes.

The others could never be kept waiting for them.
