Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1101 - 597: A World Truly Worth Settling In (2)

Xu Xin shared his idea with the others.

”It’s really...” Lou Fei’Er continued gazing at the sky. ”If you didn’t tell me this is inside the World Tree, I’d completely think this is the outside world. The brightness here is exactly like a night outside.”

To verify this, it’s actually quite simple; just wait for dawn.

By then, if the world inside the World Tree brightens with the dawn outside, it would prove his guess correct.

”... The adult World Tree has a very strong defense and possesses a strong self-healing ability.” Shi Wanyun murmured softly, ”Which means this world... is very safe. We just need to make some protective measures outside.”

”If that’s the case...” Lou Fei’Er instantly turned to Xu Xin, slightly excitedly, ”Doesn’t that mean we can completely live inside this World Tree?”

Absolutely.

No problem at all.

Xu Xin’s heart was also racing a bit.

No wonder...

No wonder the alien infiltrators have been sending people to hinder the growth of the World Tree.

This World Tree has completely transformed their situation!

They truly possess a region... largely unaffected by the outside world!

No... Those alien infiltrators probably never imagined such a vast area inside the World Tree.

Nobody foresaw the direction this matter would take.

”... Perhaps, we should bring everyone into this world.”

At this moment, Xu Xin’s watch vibrated.

It was Ji Chaoyang calling with a voice message.

Xu Xin immediately answered.

”I saw you entered the World Tree. How’s the situation inside?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

”... Completely beyond imagination, hard to explain with words, I’ll bring you in, and you can see for yourselves.”

Xu Xin said, simultaneously activating his discerning ability.

Suddenly, patches of blue and purple light appeared in his eyes.

There was even golden light.

”I knew it.” He couldn’t help but smile.

”What do you mean? What did you see?” Wen Guixin’s voice came from the other side, the explorers should have gathered.

Because they knew Xu Xin had already found a way in.

”I’m coming out right away.” With that, Xu Xin hung up the call.

Behind him, an irregular wooden sphere had completely appeared on the ground.

Actually, it wasn’t a sphere, but rather a cylinder with a round top... made of wood.

The irregular wooden door on the column was the exit.

”Let’s go back.”

Xu Xin walked to the door, it automatically opened, and several people entered.

It’s still the vine sphere.

Inside was dark, and Jin Yue again took out the tree house core for lighting.

The wooden door closed, and the vine sphere started growing, eventually covering the door.

Xu Xin thought, and a slight sense of weightlessness emerged, the vine sphere began to descend.

”Didn’t we come in from that thick root outside?” Lou Fei’Er touched these vines, ”There are quite a few such thick roots outside, are they all entrances?”

”They should be.” Xu Xin nodded.

”Although they’re all entrances, the distance between the roots isn’t far, at most only a hundred meters, but inside, they’re not that close.” Shi Wanyun said gently, ”After all... The area has expanded a hundredfold.”

Indeed.

It should be like this.

Entering from different roots places you in different locations, and there’s quite a distance between them.

”Why haven’t we arrived yet?” Zeng Tao asked curiously, ”When we went up, it only took a dozen seconds, why does this feel like half a minute?”

”Because I want to check underground first.” Xu Xin said.

They were now underground.

Judging by their previous ascent speed, the position of the vine sphere should already be a hundred meters underground.

But it continued to descend.

After another dozen seconds, the vine sphere finally came to a stop.

The vines retracted, the heavy wooden door reappeared, and automatically opened.

The soft, shimmering white light filled the entire vine sphere.

”Whoa!” Keke exclaimed in surprise.

”... It’s so bright down here!” Zeng Tao was the first to step out the door, ”Is this underground?”

It is underground.

Exiting the wooden door, Xu Xin immediately noticed that beneath his feet wasn’t soil.

But the thick roots of the World Tree.

He looked up.

Immediately he saw a hundred meters above, a large Crystal Ball emitting shimmering white light was ”embedded” in the dome, exposing only half of the sphere.

Like the sun, this core radiated shimmering white light, illuminating this area.

This explained why it was bright underground.

Surrounding this ”sun” were countless thick roots, with no soil visible, only intertwined World Tree roots.

The entire space ceiling was made of World Tree roots.

”Is that... the core of the World Tree?” Lou Fei’Er looked up, amazed, ”It’s really huge.”

It’s enormous.

Judging by the exposed half of the sphere, the core’s radius exceeded ten meters.

The entire sphere would be... a gigantic core over twenty meters in diameter.

Truly immense.

This exceeded the diameter of the World Tree’s trunk, which was only ten meters or so.

Seeing it hanging above, looking up felt somewhat oppressive.

Xu Xin then looked around.

This space wasn’t as vast as inside the World Tree; it felt like a small world.

It was clearly only about two kilometers across.

If the World Tree wasn’t affected by space-time abilities, the tree house above would be only this large.

The surrounding boundary wasn’t soil or rock but World Tree roots.

This entire area was enveloped by World Tree roots!

Everywhere you looked!

This place was certainly intriguing.

”A space enclosed by roots...” Shi Wanyun surveyed the surroundings, gazed up at the World Tree’s core, ”It’s so safe here, once the World Tree matures, the roots shouldn’t be as easily damaged as before, it’s like a place fully protected by countless roots.”

”What’s this? An underground sanctuary?” Lou Fei’Er stomped the thick roots beneath her feet, ”There’s no soil, the ground consists of thick roots, it’s uneven.”

”Alright, let’s discuss the functions later.” Xu Xin restrained Keke, who tried to leap from his shoulder, ”Let’s head back first.”

The other explorers were waiting for him.

Everyone returned to the vine sphere.

”Hmm...?” Xu Xin’s eyes flickered with surprise.

At this moment, they felt another weightlessness beneath their feet, the vine sphere suddenly began to drop again, and this time much faster!

”Wha... What’s happening!” Lou Fei’Er held onto Xu Xin’s arm, ”We’re falling?! Aren’t we supposed to go up?”

While Xu Xin’s other arm was grabbed by Zeng Tao, who said anxiously, ”We’re not going to crash, are we!”

”No need to panic, I made it go down.” Xu Xin hurriedly explained, ”Because we can continue descending.”

”There’s more below? An underground second floor...” Zeng Tao remarked, ”It’s not a mall parking garage.”

The sensation of weightlessness intensified.

The descent speed accelerated again!

This time, even Jin Yue and Shi Wanyun grabbed on to those beside them.

”Why is the speed so fast?” Jin Yue wondered, though she trusted Xu Xin’s judgment, she wasn’t worried.

”Shouldn’t we be heading to the underground world?” Shi Wanyun’s tone became curious, ”Xu Xin, you and Lou Fei’Er have been to that underground world, right?”

The underground world.

That vast realm, extending at least several kilometers below.

Since the last underground exploration event, Xu Xin hadn’t ventured down again.

”I hope we’re not really entering the underground world.” Xu Xin contemplated the weightless feeling.

Judging by the descent speed, they should be moving six to seven meters per second.

A bit faster, and it’s practically free falling.

Descending at this speed for so long without stopping, they truly seemed headed for the underground world!

The World Tree even connects to the underground world!
