Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1133 - 608: Contacting Other World Trees? (Part 2)

”It’s always good to have a method... huh? Wait a moment.” Xu Xin reacted and frowned, ”Just now, the external time flow rate... matched the internal one again?”

If the time flow rate was different, then the root movement Xu Xin saw should have appeared very slow in their eyes.

”Ah... I must have influenced it.” Xu Ying said apologetically, ”I wanted to show you something, so I subconsciously synchronized the time flow. It’s restored now.”

The scenery all around had returned to its original flow rate, but the bird that had been suspended in the air was nowhere to be seen.

The situation where Xu Ying subconsciously affected the time flow was quite similar to Xu Xin’s situation during the previous voice call.

Xu Xin immediately asked the question in his heart: ”How exactly are we affecting the time flow?”

”Well... a world tree influenced by the power of space-time, it’s my first time encountering it too.”

Xu Ying found it somewhat challenging.

”I’m not too sure how to control it. When we were modifying this seed, we deduced that the master of the world tree could adjust the time flow rate within the world tree, but it’s limited to... adjusting it to match the external world, not to other flow rates.”

”But how to adjust it, we don’t know.” Xu Xin took over, carrying Keke who had climbed up his leg again.

”Ahaha...” Xu Ying laughed awkwardly, ”What can we do? We only have this one world tree seed, we can’t run tests.”

”...It’s amazing you dared to modify it, aren’t you afraid of ruining it?” Xu Xin shook his head.

”But facts prove that our choice was correct.” Xu Ying raised her head, ”Moreover, we are very familiar with the world tree itself, so we have strong confidence.”

”Strong confidence means a time flow deviation from three times to a hundred times?” Xu Xin joked.

”Uh...” Xu Ying was momentarily speechless and quickly shifted the topic, reaching towards the third screen, ”Let’s quickly check the next one!”

The third screen lit up.

Familiar interfaces and options.

Evidently, this screen is similar to the one in the tree house.

”Finally found this one.” Xu Ying examined the options, ”We assign the rights to control the world tree on this screen.”

”Hmm...?” Xu Xin’s pupils suddenly contracted.

”What is this...”

He reached out to touch the screen.

He saw that there was a [World Tree Communication] option!

World Tree Communication?!

”Ah, that’s the option used for communication between world trees.” Xu Ying explained, ”In the world tree we lived in, we could communicate internally anytime, but to contact other world trees, this was the only way.”

”We can actually contact other world trees...”

Xu Xin looked at the page that appeared after clicking the [World Tree Communication] option, utterly shocked.

Three signals...

It can contact three other world trees?!

”These three world trees should be the closest.” Xu Ying was also surprised, ”I mentioned before, they are planted on the underground world support columns, at least thousands of kilometers away, but they can be contacted.”

”These three world trees could be...”

”They should all be human.” Xu Ying clicked on one, ”Contact them and see?”

”Hey! You...” Xu Xin didn’t react in time, only seeing the request sent out and his eyes widened, ”Isn’t this a bit too careless?”

”What are you afraid of?”

Xu Ying looked indifferent.

”Whether or not we contact them affects their thoughts? Besides, those living on this hemisphere’s world tree should all be human accomplices, those alien invaders wouldn’t live on half a planet. Maybe we could contact that mysterious voice that keeps playing tricks on you.”

It does seem to be indifferent.

The hemispherical screen hadn’t retracted, and after Xu Ying clicked the communication, the external time flow matched the internal again.

Xu Xin suddenly gained an insight.

This world tree has the ability to briefly synchronize the time flow with the external world, perhaps enabling people inside the world tree to communicate with the outside world without barriers?

The request rang for over a dozen seconds.

Unfortunately, the other side did not accept the communication and directly disconnected.

The external scenery immediately went stagnant.

”Ah! Was it rejected?” Xu Ying didn’t try other world trees but sent out a request to that world tree again.

The result was no longer connectable.

”Could we have been blacklisted?” Xu Ying was helpless, ”What’s the deal, all humans, isn’t it good to connect and share feelings? But being so afraid to contact this side, it seems they indeed are accomplices. Whatever, we won’t try anymore, we have business to attend to.”

The two immediately found the [Permission Grant] they wanted in the options.

Opening the option, the page listed the names of everyone in this world tree.

Xu Xin found the names of the explorer members and granted them permission to enter and exit the world tree, and use the elevator.

”If they come here, can they also control these screens?” Xu Xin asked Xu Ying.

”Yes, this screen can only be operated by the master of the world tree.” Xu Ying pointed to the options screen, ”After all, it involves permissions fundamental to the world tree. But the other two, they can operate.”

Xu Ying pointed to the world map screen and the hemispherical screen still covering this place.

Xu Xin nodded and looked at other options on this screen.

Some familiar options

There were options, all general ones in the initial tree house setup.

”This world tree also has functional zone capabilities...” Xu Ying was surprised, ”It’s truly unexpected, without rooms and floors. Could it be dividing territories to create functional zones?”

Functional zones?

”Like planting areas, livestock areas?” Xu Xin thought about external planning.

”Oh!” Xu Ying clapped her hands, ”Impressive, city functional zone planning?”

Xu Xin then looked at the last screen.

”What about the fourth one?”

He immediately reached out to light up the fourth screen.

The entire screen only had one option.

[Time Flow Rate Control]

”Ah! This screen is...!” Xu Ying’s eyes lit up when she saw this option.

Xu Xin immediately clicked the option.

[Manual Time Flow Rate Control: When enabled, the internal time flow rate of the world tree will slow down to match the external speed, facilitating communication between internal members of the world tree and the outside world.] [Currently Disabled]

[Automatic Time Flow Rate Control: When enabled, the holder of the world tree can control the time flow rate with their consciousness.] [Currently Enabled]

Xu Xin and Xu Ying exchanged glances.

”Disable automatic control!”

The two reached a consensus and immediately turned off the automatic time flow rate control.

Allowing their consciousness to control the time flow, while convenient for them, could easily lead to problems.

So for now, let’s keep the rate fixed at one hundred to one.

Though this might prevent them from seamlessly communicating inside and outside, it’s more stable this way.

After all, neither of them can consistently control it.

”Everything’s done? Time to head up, brother! I have something to tell you!”

Xu Xin wanted to examine the functions of the screens, but Xu Ying grabbed his wrist and initiated the teleportation.

...

”I’ve told you, inform me before you teleport.” Xu Xin shook his head helplessly.

”Squeak...” Keke hid far away, seemingly having a shadow of Xu Ying’s teleportation ability. For some reason, this little guy seemed somewhat afraid of Xu Ying’s teleportation power.

”I’m the one who was startled!” Li Wenxi complained, ”You suddenly appeared in my treehouse, I almost screamed...”

Xu Ying had teleported to Li Wenxi’s treehouse.

”Uh... blame her.” Xu Xin pointed to Xu Ying, somewhat helpless, ”So what’s the urgent matter that made you rush up here?”

”There is indeed something urgent.” Xu Ying looked at Li Wenxi, ”It’s about what’s beneath us, the underground world.”

The matter below?

”Ah! It’s about the underground human base!” Li Wenxi realized.

She sat next to Xu Xin, explaining to him, ”Xu Xin, your mind-reading ability should be able to read the thoughts of those in the human base, right?”

Underground base humans...

Xu Xin paused briefly, then his eyes opened wide.

Hiss—

That’s right!

Those humans have never experienced any time travel.

They have descended from generations thousands of years ago!

If Xu Xin’s speculation about his mind-reading power is correct, he should indeed be able to read the thoughts of that group of humans!
