Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1114 - 602: Reunion After Half a Month

The place where the three appeared wasn’t the center of what could now be called a town, but the outskirts.

And this area was very flat, so with one glance, the whole scene was taken in by the three of them.

The change was just too drastic.

Even though Xu Xin had mentally prepared himself, from his side only a little over three hours had passed, and he’d slept in between. To him it felt like just a fleeting moment, yet such a huge change had already taken place here...

It was truly shocking.

But thinking about it, it didn’t seem like such a big deal either.

Outside, only three hours had passed, but inside, it had already been half a month.

Of course, under normal circumstances, you couldn’t possibly build a town that actually looked like something in just half a month.

But everyone here was a survivor, all able to use treehouse abilities to rapidly throw up buildings.

And those seeds were all fast-growth seeds that matured in a few days or a dozen days. Inside the World Tree their growth rate was probably even faster, which was why, in just half a month, they’d managed to create this scene of crops and fruit trees everywhere.

So this is...the power of a hundredfold time difference!

”Yo, they did pretty well.” Xu Ying was very satisfied. ”This layout really has that feeling of back when we were in the Underground World.”

Li Wenxi also looked curiously at the sight before her, then glanced around, stroking the sleeping Keke in her arms as she said, ”All this is what they accomplished in three and a half hours... no, in half a month? Impressive! Only this area is green!”

Indeed.

Xu Xin looked around.

Apart from this cultivated area, everywhere else was still barren—no vegetation, only soil.

Luckily there was basically no wind inside the World Tree; otherwise, if a strong wind kicked up across this vegetation-less wasteland, it’d turn straight into a sandstorm...

He looked back at what was in front of him.

The region that had been completely barren had now turned into an oasis in the middle of the wasteland.

Li Wenxi sized up the surroundings again, then said regretfully, ”But it’s a pity, there are no minable ores inside the World Tree. If we want to mine, we still have to go outside.”

No ores inside the World Tree, huh.

A bit disappointing, but...made sense.

For a World Tree that had just grown, having soil inside was already surprising enough; if it also had metal ores, that would be a bit ridiculous.

But if that was the case, then if they wanted to mine, they’d have to go outside—and the time flow outside was way too slow.

For development inside the World Tree, going out to mine would directly cut their efficiency down to one percent...

Miners could spend seven or eight hours mining outside, and by the time they came back, one or two months would have passed in here.

That was just too painful.

...No, there was still one place that might meet their needs.

The Underground World...?

”Brother Xin! Brother Xin’s back!”

”It really is Brother Xin! Those two girls next to him are...”

”Ah! It’s Wenxi!”

At that moment, excited shouts rang out from the three treehouses around them.

Although this spot was on the edge of the cultivated area, it was the entry and exit point of the World Tree, so there were still people guarding here.

They had now spotted the three of them, and one of them even swung directly down from the treehouse.

”Yajun!” Li Wenxi’s eyes lit up and she ran forward.

”Wenxi!” After climbing down from the treehouse, Li Yajun ran straight toward Li Wenxi, gave her a hug first, then grabbed her hand, saying excitedly, ”You’re really okay, that’s great, I was so worried about you!”

”Of course I’m fine. I did go through some stuff, sure... But what about you guys, I heard you went through a big battle!”

Xu Xin and Xu Ying also walked over.

”Xu Xin, you finally came back... Ah, hello.” Li Yajun gave a slight bow toward Xu Ying beside Xu Xin.

She had seen Xu Ying before, and naturally knew who this girl was.

”Ah, it’s you. We meet again.”

Xu Ying waved at her, then shifted her gaze back to the cultivated area, occasionally glancing toward the vast uncultivated wasteland.

Just then, Xu Xin’s watch started vibrating.

It was a message from Ji Chaoyang.

At the same time, he also saw a few people rushing over from the distance.

It was Wang Lei and Zhao Xiaochuan.

”Xu Xin, did it never occur to you to contact the inside of the World Tree?” Ji Chaoyang sounded rather exasperated.

Obviously, he was expressing his dissatisfaction with Xu Xin’s sudden disappearance for half a month.

”Uh...actually, only a bit over three hours passed for me outside.” Xu Xin said, a little embarrassed.

”I could figure that much out myself,” Ji Chaoyang said. ”Hurry over here. In the past half month, we’ve made a lot of discoveries about the treehouses in this area.”

”Got it.”

After he hung up, Wang Lei and the others were already quite close.

”Brother Xin! Brother Xin! Damn, you finally came!” Wang Lei shouted as he ran over. ”Today’s already the fifteenth day!”

Zhao Xiaochuan was faster than him and had already sprinted up to Xu Xin. ”Brother Xin, you were gone way too long! We were starting to think something happened to you, but we had no way to go out and check... Ah! Wenxi’s back too! And this must be Brother Xin’s little sister! Hi, hi!”

”Uh...hello.” Xu Ying took the hand he offered and shook it, her expression looking a bit odd.

Xu Xin only had to think for a moment to understand why.
