Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1117 - 603: What Exactly Is the Treehouse?

Xu Ying shared what she knew with everyone present.

”An underground world with... over a hundred million people?”

The explorers exchanged looks, eyes filled with shock.

This was completely unexpected for them.

”But, with over a hundred million people... given the area here, it couldn’t bear it, right?” Wang Lei said, troubled.

The internal space of the world tree was indeed vast, but fitting over a hundred million people into the area of a small city was exceedingly difficult.

Knowing there were still so many humans on Earth made them very excited, but... the number was just too much.

”Oh, it’s certainly not possible to bring everyone here.” Xu Ying waved her hand, ”The area of this world tree has already surpassed the size we initially planned. This world tree was originally meant to house the most important technologies and personnel, but now that it’s so large, it can accommodate more people.”

”What do you mean by ’cutting-edge equipment’ earlier?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

”It’s exactly what you’re imagining, humanity’s most advanced weaponry.” Xu Ying turned her head to look at Li Wenxi, ”Sis-in-law has already felt the power of our weapons.”

”Ah...” Li Wenxi raised her hand, ”I have indeed seen them. Although the underground world’s heritage had experienced interruptions, it has recovered to a hundred million people over millennia, and now their weaponry rivals that of humanity’s most powerful arms from a thousand years ago.”

Humanity’s most powerful weapons?

”Nuclear?” Xu Xin’s eyelid twitched, asking.

”Um... I haven’t seen them, but...” Li Wenxi turned her gaze to Xu Ying.

”Yes.” Xu Ying nodded calmly, ”All the weapons you can imagine, we have. Of course, we no longer have satellites, so precision satellite-guided strikes are impossible, but we can use gyroscopic inertial guidance.”

”So strong!”

For a moment, everyone found it hard to accept.

A thousand years ago, they weren’t in this line of work, so their knowledge about humanity’s top-notch weapons was mostly courtesy of casual curiosity, leaving them virtually ignorant.

But what they knew was that these weapons were far superior to what they currently had!

Their equipment was about to undergo an ultimate upgrade!

”Originally, we decided to make the underground world the location for weapon manufacturing, continuously supplying armaments to the surface, but something happened down below, and most of the underground factories were destroyed.”

Xu Ying and Li Wenxi exchanged a glance, a hint of helplessness in their eyes.

”But this world tree is really a godsend!” Xu Ying pointed at the position of the world tree on the small blackboard, a tinge of excitement in her smile, ”The hundred-fold time dilation is exactly what we need most now! Producing and manufacturing here means efficiency is nearly a hundred times faster than outside!”

Moving the underground world’s weapon manufacturing into the world tree?

”Is it easy to do?” Li Wenxi asked, worried, ”Wasn’t it already...”

”Easy, don’t worry.” Xu Ying said confidently, ”The core components weren’t destroyed, and what was damaged can be rebuilt within a month—that’s only six or seven hours outside in the time of the world tree.”

”Ah...!” At this moment, Zeng Tao suddenly exclaimed, and then looked very woefully at Xu Xin and Ma Hongwei beside him, muttering lowly, ”Doesn’t that mean I suffered for nothing this whole time...”

She had been researching a portable cannon, but now there were more powerful weapons, rendering her efforts useless.

The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt!

”No, Taozi, you’re an important person.” Xu Ying assured Zeng Tao, ”Your abilities will play a very significant role.”

”Huh?” Zeng Tao was taken aback, ”I’m important... what did you call me?”

”Taozi, you were also a member of our original organization.” Xu Ying looked at her, blinking, ”You were once an extremely important weapons researcher for us, and oh, Ma Hongwei too.”

She turned to look at Ma Hongwei, who showed no emotional fluctuation, merely nodding politely.

”I’m a weapons researcher?” Zeng Tao pointed at himself, eyes wide, ”Really...”

”Yes, but your personality is indeed quite different from before...” Xu Ying looked at Zeng Tao in front of her, feeling increasingly incongruous, ”In my memory, you were always emotionally indifferent, like a stoic, expressionless young loli, I almost didn’t recognize you at first sight...”

”Me? Emotionally indifferent?” Zeng Tao blinked.

”Oh? What about me? How was I back then?” Wen Guixin asked curiously, pointing at herself, ”What was I like back then?”

”Uh...” Xu Ying looked at her, her pupils quivered, pursing her lips, ”Pretty similar to how you are now, Sister Gui Xin.”

”I see...”

”It’s normal for personalities to differ.”

Seeing others also eager to inquire, Xu Xin timely interrupted.

”The people from back then all experienced great upheaval and disaster, so it’s not surprising that their personalities changed drastically. Well, let’s talk about this later, Yingying, can Zeng Tao help with weapon manufacturing?”

”Exactly.” Xu Ying nodded, ”Your current treehouses are practically each an automated production facility with time-space capabilities; you just need to input commands to create the equipment.”
