Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1136 - 609: Minor Spatiotemporal Disturbance_3

”With me here, we won’t lack materials!” Li Wenxi patted her chest. ”You guys can freely start building here now. I’ve already found the right people, and they’ll take a few down for a mineral exploration. We’ll achieve resource freedom again soon!”

The sight of endless mineral resources in the underground world left her brimming with confidence, impatient to go down.

”That’s great, haha, now we can fully focus on building our new home!” Wang Lei couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

At this moment, Ji Chaoyang spoke: ”Xu Ying, you mentioned before that we should strive to accept more survivors, right?”

”Yes.” Xu Ying nodded, ”Don’t underestimate the survivors. Compared to regular people, these survivors with chips implanted in their brains are skilled technical experts who can rely on the treehouse system to create various devices by hand.”

”And regarding the blueprints...”

”No worries about the blueprints, I can provide all sorts of them for you.”

”That’s good.” Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”Our next phase of tasks is clear then. Internally, we need to begin steady construction, while externally we must find ways to recruit quickly and make this place a genuine human haven.”

”And what about the impending crisis?” Qi Xuefei asked, ”The crisis you foretold, the petrified beast herd crisis.”

”For now, there’s no need to worry.” Ji Chaoyang looked up at the sky, ”It should indeed be one day in the outside world. Because my predicted time was at dawn, when the sun hadn’t fully risen and a small portion was below the horizon. And now...”

Ji Chaoyang looked at Xu Xin: ”It should be past that time now, right?”

”That’s correct.” Xu Xin had just observed the external scenery in the control area and confirmed it, ”Although the sun has just risen now, it’s already fully above the horizon.”

”Then there’s no problem.” Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”The scene from the prophecy is definitely tomorrow in the outside world.”

”Speaking of which, there’s no tomorrow or anything like that inside the World Tree, right?” Wen Guixin, lying on the windowsill looking outside, turned back, ”Before Xu Xin returned, we went through over ten days of continuous night, and now we will have over fifty days of daylight.”

”Isn’t that perfect? Daytime is good for work; before it was always dark, and it affected our mood.” Zhao Xiaochuan complained, ”Daytime is better!”

”Xu Xin...” Zeng Tao at this moment snuggled up to Xu Xin, tugging on his arm, whispering, ”Aren’t Lou Fei’Er and the others supposed to come back too?”

Although Zeng Tao usually had spats with Lou Fei’Er, during these ten days without seeing her, she indeed missed her somewhat.

”...It’s time to have them return.” Xu Xin nodded.

More than three hours have passed in the outside world; logically, they should have returned after probing some information. If they haven’t returned yet, hopefully, there aren’t any issues.

”You’re talking about those three.” Xu Ying thought for a moment, ”None of them were in the initial team. Could they have been turned against us?”

”Nonsense! Impossible!” Zeng Tao immediately glared at her, ”They can’t be turned against us!”

”The three of them have all been injected with the gene serum.” Xu Xin explained.

”Ah? You really are generous...” Xu Ying felt a bit heartache, ”Those serums are dwindling in number... Oh, right!”

Her eyes lit up as she looked at Qi Xuefei: ”Sister Xuefei, perhaps you can study that serum! I can tell you what I know, you were the primary researcher for these serums back then, maybe you can manage to study them now!”

”Is that so?” Qi Xuefei’s interest was piqued upon hearing this, ”That works too; I’ve been somewhat idle lately.”

The therapeutic drugs she now had were already immensely potent, to the point she didn’t need to strengthen them anymore. Coupled with a very safe environment, she lacked research drive.

Studying the gene serum offered her a new goal once more.

”Well... I’ll leave the internal construction matters to you all.” Xu Xin stood up, ”I need to go out for a bit, contact those three; they should bring us some useful information.”

”I’ll join you.” Xu Ying also got up, ”Once this is done, the underground world... Hmm, if we return to the World Tree, it’s really not urgent.”

Xu Ying murmured to herself, ”Perhaps we can even be leisurely in the World Tree for ten days or so?”

The hundredfold time flow inside the World Tree even tempted Xu Ying to slack off.

Ji Chaoyang spoke again: ”Xu Ying, can I count on you for the new survivors?”

Xu Ying paused slightly, ”Hmm? Me? Ah... You mean to use my teleportation ability to bring people over?”

”That’s right.” Ji Chaoyang nodded, ”Your teleportation ability can transport people anytime, anywhere, which is very convenient. It’s not very troublesome; you only need to send the found people to the nearest Transmission Array location, saving them a lot of time.”

”Oh!” Xu Ying’s eyes lit up slightly, ”What you said is indeed a good method.”

”Yingying, you...” Xu Xin frowned slightly.

It wasn’t like he hadn’t thought of this method.

If he hadn’t noticed the spatial disorder starting around Xu Ying, he would have long wanted to entrust Xu Ying with this.

But now...

”Don’t worry, brother, as I’ve said, simple teleportation won’t encounter issues.” Xu Ying turned to Ji Chaoyang, saying, ”I’ve agreed, but this matter needs to be placed after resolving the human base affairs.”

Saying this, she glanced at Xu Xin.

Xu Xin, helpless, could only agree.

He truly knew how stubborn his sister could be; even at three hundred years old, Xu Ying gave him this same feeling.

It seemed his upcoming actions were already clear.

First, contact the three women, bring them into the World Tree, and gather intel on the World Tree.

Then go to the underground world, solve the issues down there, and transfer the underground technology to the World Tree.

Afterward, Xu Ying would assist them in bringing in survivors.

...All these tasks seem to belong to the external world.

He truly wondered how the World Tree would have developed once they returned.

He had faint anticipation.
