Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1102 - 598: Catapult Takeoff

”The underground world, huh...” Shi Wanyun showed a bit of interest.

She had never truly been to the underground world, only glimpsed it from afar shortly after arriving in this world.

It was when she obtained the Golden Treasure Chest; that was the only time she saw that world beneath the ground, teeming with chaos.

She also knew that Xu Xin and a few others had been to the underground world. Back then, their ”Underground World Exploration Activity” ranking list kept all survivors around the world talking non-stop.

It was precisely because Xu Xin and the others were in the underground world and unable to communicate with the outside world that she, on the other side of Earth, struggling on the brink of life, tried countless times to contact Area 188 to form an alliance, all to no avail.

This matter was deeply imprinted in her memory.

She had always wanted to know what the underground world truly looked like.

”The underground world, is it the same place where you all did that underground exploration activity?”

Due to the rapid descent, Zeng Tao felt a bit uneasy, crouched down, and looked up at Xu Xin to ask.

”Yes.” Xu Xin nodded, ”Back then, six of us went to the underground world. Among them were Lou Fei’Er and me.”

”The underground world must be very dangerous.” Jin Yue, having heard Lou Fei’Er talk about the underground world, expressed some concern, ”And, aren’t the creatures in the underground world supposed to...?”

”This is bad!” Lou Fei’Er suddenly said with some fear, ”Are we going straight down? No way! Among the five of us, only Xu Xin doesn’t have a Blood Pattern mutation! Those giant beasts will definitely go crazy attacking us!”

”What do you mean?” Zeng Tao and Shi Wanyun looked at her, ”Giant beast attacks?”

”Not necessarily.” Xu Xin shook his head, ”All of you have been injected with genetic serums now, so maybe... they won’t attack you anymore.”

”What’s exactly going on?” Shi Wanyun frowned and asked.

The vine ball continued its descent, as Lou Fei’Er recounted her past experiences to everyone.

”All are giant beasts...” Shi Wanyun murmured softly.

”This is terrifying...” Zeng Tao felt a little cowardly, tugging at Xu Xin’s arm, ”Maybe we should go back up... Next time, you should bring some people without the Blood Pattern Bloodline with you.”

”You were so brave dealing with the Tyrannosaurus. Why are you suddenly scared?” Xu Xin looked at her frightened expression with a smile.

”There were only two left at that time!” Zeng Tao glared at him, ”Down there, it’s full of giant beasts. If they all come to attack us, we won’t survive!”

”Just to add, those giant beasts down there, each of them is about twenty or thirty meters tall, much bigger than the four or five-meter-tall Tyrannosaurus.” Lou Fei’Er exaggerated, feeling somewhat cowardly herself, wanting to go up.

”Really not going down?” With a thought from Xu Xin, the vine ball’s speed slowly decreased and stopped within a few seconds, then he turned to look at Keke perched on his shoulder, ”Keke, what do you think... this little guy?”

The little guy started to doze off again.

Considering this, it seems there isn’t much danger.

Otherwise, Keke wouldn’t be falling asleep at this moment.

”We’re almost there, already here.” Shi Wanyun suggested continuing the descent.

”People could die!” Lou Fei’Er had a psychological shadow and completely didn’t want to go down.

At the time, she was guarded by that peculiar giant tiger for several hours, not daring to move. Now, seeing any giant beast made her heart skip a beat.

”You can use the Cloaking Device like you did back then.” Jin Yue looked at Lou Fei’Er, ”We all have it.”

Clearly, Jin Yue also wanted to go down and see.

Indeed, if they put on the Cloaking Device, it would be feasible to go down and take a look at the situation.

”I don’t have it.” Shi Wanyun said softly, ”Xu Xin had given me one before, but... it’s left on the other side of Earth.”

”The other side of Earth?” With the vine ball having stopped descending, Zeng Tao shifted from crouching to sitting on the ground, looking up at Shi Wanyun, ”I’m really curious about your experiences!”

”You can have mine.” Xu Xin took out his cloak from his backpack and handed it to Shi Wanyun, ”Use mine. We’ll go down and take a look, then come back up.”

With a vote ratio of 3 to 2, they finally decided to go down.

Xu Xin willed it, and the sensation of weightlessness returned as the vine ball started descending again.

”Alright, alright...” Lou Fei’Er gave Xu Xin a somewhat resentful look.

The place they had stopped was already very close to the end, and the vine ball gently stopped after descending for about ten more seconds.

”Put on the cloaks.” Xu Xin reminded.

The vine slowly unfolded, creating an exit to walk out of the vine ball.

Xu Xin stepped out of the vine ball and looked outside.

The long-lost underground world, that bizarre and fantastical world.

The familiar vegetation of the surface was nowhere to be seen, only vines everywhere.

Some were even swaying, displaying an eerie vitality.

A few kilometers away, the giant vine bundle below the Transmission Array remained, the only one left, connecting the underground world’s ground and ceiling.

The place where the vine bundle joined with the underground world’s ceiling emitted a faint white light, illuminating the area.

There weren’t any major changes from the last time.

By the way.

Xu Xin turned around to look.

They had come down on the vine ball elevator.

”This is really...”

There was no other passage connecting the ground and ceiling; instead, it was...
