Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 1132 - 608: Contacting Other World Trees?

The ”screen” of the World Tree is actually located here.

No wonder there’s such a mysterious space wrapped by roots underground in the World Tree.

”Ying ying...” Keke lay on Xu Xin’s shoulder, observing the four screen projections.

The initial appearance of the four screens was dim, showing nothing upon them.

Only the screen that Xu Ying just swiped with her hand revealed a scene the moment she touched it.

Xu Xin immediately recognized that this was the overall map of the world within the World Tree, complete with terrain and distance data.

The terrain of the world within the World Tree was entirely flat, with no undulations, and the size was roughly what Xu Xin and the others had previously estimated.

Xu Xin swiped his hand across the screen, and the scene immediately changed.

The view could be zoomed in and the angle could be changed.

It was just like playing a god-view game.

Xu Xin saw the area cultivated by the explorers, located near the center, slightly southeast of the entire World Tree world.

He zoomed in the view and instantly, the specific details of that area became very clear.

Xu Xin instantly spotted Li Wenxi, who was about to enter his treehouse.

”Oh oh! I can see sister-in-law!” Xu Ying exclaimed in surprise, ”It’s so clear!”

”Huh? Why are you so surprised, aren’t you aware of the World Tree’s capabilities?” Xu Xin looked at her somewhat unexpectedly.

”Of course, the World Trees we used to live in were managed by ourselves, and we had certain permissions. However, this World Tree is quite special.”

Xu Ying, with interest, swiped the screen’s scene, observing the recently cultivated area from a bird’s-eye view.

”The World Tree we used to live in is much smaller than the one Shi Wanyun has visited, without a map feature, so we didn’t need such a function.” She tapped her lips lightly, ”Moreover, our World Tree was small enough to have layers inside, so observing like this from a bird’s-eye view wouldn’t really show anything, would it?”

Indeed.

This perspective is somewhat akin to a satellite map.

Only in conditions similar to this smaller world within the World Tree can everything be overseen.

”Hmm... It’s a pity we can’t see inside the treehouses and buildings.” Xu Ying adjusted the view angle and then lamented.

”Why would you want to see inside the treehouse, spy on others?” Xu Xin retorted jokingly.

”Hehe.” Xu Ying didn’t deny it, then looked at Xu Xin, ”Hey, brother, you have the mapping capability, right?”

Xu Xin nodded.

Inside his mind, there’s essentially a map of the entire World Tree, though his mapping ability can’t be used for spying, it’s merely a fixed-angle bird’s-eye structural map where people and beasts appear as light dots.

”Maybe the mapping capability of this World Tree is just something you added to the World Tree seed.” Xu Ying made a gesture on the screen, restoring the map to a viewable panoramic size, ”After all, among us, you’re the only one with such technology.”

Oh...?

This means his own mapping ability might be a degraded version of the World Tree’s mapping capability?

Interesting.

”Alright, let’s check out the other screens!”

Xu Ying waved her hand at the second screen projection.

The second screen also lit up.

Still a landscape.

”Jungle?” Xu Xin was slightly startled, ”Is this outside the World Tree?”

This screen clearly showed the jungle outside the World Tree.

Xu Xin saw the jungle and also the lake where the Lake Giant Python lived.

The jungle seemed frozen in time, with the birds in the air mostly motionless, showing the slow flow rate of time outside.

”Oh, this function is also available in normal World Trees. It allows observing the surroundings of the World Tree and can also manipulate the roots through the screen. Watch me!”

With that, Xu Ying swiped horizontally across the screen, instantly elongating it!

The elongated part circled around the platform where the two were, connecting with the other side of the screen, forming a panoramic ring screen.

”Ying ying?” Keke raised her little head, looking around.

Xu Ying swiped upwards again, and the screen began to elongate at the top, soon enclosing the entire screen projection.

What was originally a rectangular screen transformed into a hemispherical shape, covering Xu Xin and Xu Ying on the high platform.

And the images on the screen were the scenes surrounding the World Tree!

Even the ground below the platform displayed an image.

Crystal City.

The Crystal City was shrouded by the canopy of the World Tree.

Standing here, gazing at the images on the screen, Xu Xin felt like he had become the World Tree, observing the surroundings from a giant’s perspective.

”Ying!” Keke jumped down from Xu Xin’s shoulder, approaching the ground, and scratched the image of the Crystal City on the ground with his little paws.

”It can be like this too!” Xu Ying gestured downward.

Instantly, a root plunged straight into the ground.

The root penetrated the ground easily, like using chopsticks to poke tofu.

”Manipulating the roots outside the World Tree here relies on the World Tree itself, there’s no need for us to expend energy.” Xu Ying waved her hand, and all the aerial roots hanging outside the World Tree began to sway gently.

”Wow, so it can do this!” Xu Xin was surprised.

Xu Ying waved her hand again, stopping the movement of the roots: ”Didn’t you just say there are petrified creatures that may attack? This might come in handy, though I feel it doesn’t matter much, those petrified creatures can’t really harm the World Tree.”
