Berserk God of War

39: Chapter 039: Su Zhenglong’s Birthday Gift 39: Chapter 039: Su Zhenglong’s Birthday Gift Sikong Jing’s True Qi surged within him, a fierce aura flickered in and out of existence.

Having reached the Bright Realm Ninth Layer, he felt that all the blood in his body carried a brutal and overbearing aura, and the Dantian within him, resembling a monster’s head, became even more solid and the features of his face clearer.

And his strength was much greater than anyone else at the same level of the Bright Realm Ninth Layer.

After sensing it briefly, Sikong Jing slowly got up, took a cup of water, and added a drop of his own blood.

The crimson blood mixed with the clear water, seemingly emitting an inscrutable vibe.

“Can my blood at the Bright Realm Ninth Layer really detoxify Yue Xi?”

Muttering to himself, Sikong Jing then walked out of the room with the cup of blood-infused water and flashed into the simple room belonging to Su Yuexi.

He gently woke Su Yuexi.

In her flustered, anxious, and slightly confused gaze, Sikong Jing passed the cup to her and said, “Yue Xi, drink this.”

The drowsy Su Yuexi, using the moonlight coming through the window, saw the blood-red color in the water that seemed to take one’s breath away and asked subconsciously, “Brother Jing, what is this?”

“It’s your surprise for after dawn.”

Sikong Jing did not explain, as he could not be one hundred percent certain that his blood could indeed cure the Crimson Spider Poison.

For the time being, he dared not give Su Yuexi any hope.

Still in a daze, Su Yuexi trusted that Sikong Jing would not harm her, so without asking further, she drank the blood-water and then fell back to sleep.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing sat quietly by the bedside, and after half an hour, he gently pulled away Su Yuexi’s veil.

An exquisite beauty suddenly came into Sikong Jing’s view, lighting up the dark room at night,

Under the moonlight, Su Yuexi was the picture of serene, out-of-this-world beauty, as if the most artistically perfect creation in the world.

The ugliness that had marred her face was completely gone, so beautiful that even Sikong Jing caught his breath.

Even if Sikong Jing no longer judged beauty by appearance alone, he couldn’t help but be mesmerized.

And this was the wife he could not let down.

Compared to Su Yuexi, the Ninth Princess Yan Ruyu seemed like a clown in both spirit and appearance.

The day broke, and Su Yuexi got up to wash.

But she never dared to look in the mirror, and today was no different.

After finishing her ablutions, Su Yuexi still walked out with her thick veil on, and when she encountered Sikong Jing, she asked softly, “Brother Jing, did you give me something to drink last night?”

Her voice carried a bashful tenderness, unsure if it was a dream or reality.

With a smile, Sikong Jing took her hand and said, “You probably did, drank it I guess.”

Sikong Jing knew that Su Yuexi had not yet realized the change in her appearance.

So, he decided to leave the surprise for Su Xuefeng’s birthday banquet.

Sikong Jing wanted to make Su Yuexi the star of today’s banquet and dazzle those who once looked down on her!

Su Yuexi blinked in confusion, drank it means drank it, not having it means not having it, what did he mean by ‘probably drank it I guess’?

Just as she was about to inquire further, Mei Xiaofang called out, “Sikong Jing, come and help.”

The two instinctively looked over and saw Mei Xiaofang dragging a human-sized box out of the room, gasping for breath from the effort.

Seeing this, they hurried over to help.

In the end, it was Sikong Jing who carried the large box into the courtyard.

“Mother, what is this?” Su Yuexi had forgotten her earlier question and looked curiously at the big box.

Mei Xiaofang said with a smile, “Open it and you’ll see.”

Su Yuexi did as she was told and opened the box; a statue that looked just like a real person immediately appeared before her eyes.

The sight left Su Yuexi dumbstruck.

The statue was carved in the likeness of a young woman, extremely beautiful and lifelike.

“Mother, this is…”

Before she could finish, Su Zhenglong’s voice came from inside the hall, “This is your grandmother, who has passed away.”

Su Yuexi was surprised; she had never met her grandmother.

Her father had told her that her grandmother died before even her older sister, Su Yue Immortal, was born.

“So grandmother was so beautiful.”

Mumbling to herself, Su Yuexi’s expression turned slightly gloomy, feeling a strong sense of inferiority.

And once again, Sikong Jing took hold of her hand.

Sikong Jing also looked at the statue, realizing that Su Yuexi inherited her looks from her grandmother, resembling her by at least seventy to eighty percent.

At that moment, Mei Xiaofang whispered, “Your father spent several months carving this.

It’s meant to be a birthday gift for your grandfather.

Your father still hopes to reconcile with your grandfather.”

Su Zhenglong sighed and continued, “Blood is thicker than water, I truly do not want to end up in a father-son feud.”

Their words sent a shiver through Su Yuexi, for she too longed for her grandfather’s love and care.

“Ajing, at the banquet I hope you won’t act impulsively again, and this gift should indeed save your life when Su Shan arrives,” Su Zhenglong said, looking deeply at Sikong Jing.

Sikong Jing opened his mouth, eager to say he wasn’t afraid of Su Shan, but held back his words.

It wasn’t the right moment to say it, and turning enmity into friendship was also a wonderful thing.

Su Zhenglong wanted to use Grandma Su Yuexi’s statue to touch Su Xuefeng’s heart!

What’s more, they were trying their best to preserve their own lives.

Even if he didn’t need it personally, the intention still ran deep.

With that in mind, Sikong Jing nodded earnestly and said, “I understand, Father-in-law.

I will go prepare a gift as well.”

Saying this, Sikong Jing went back to his room.

He then took out the two remaining Green Jade Stone Plates he had from his time at the Heavenly Martial Pavilion.

A Low-level Xuan Grade Martial Skill flashed through his mind; he began to carve without hesitation and succeeded on his first attempt.

“I accidentally carved the Martial Intent again, and it’s a bit hard to control.”

Sikong Jing muttered to himself, then took another deep breath and said, “Well, if Su Xuefeng truly repents, I’ll give him the Transcendent Martial Intent.”

With that, he quickly carved the second Green Jade Stone Plate, another Low-level Xuan Grade Martial Skill that also contained Martial Intent.

After finishing, he found an old box in his room to pack them in and then left the room.

“Brother Jing, what gift have you prepared?” asked Su Yuexi as she approached him.

Sikong Jing smiled, “You’ll find out at the banquet.

It’s sure to make Su Xuefeng extremely happy.”

Curious about his answer, Su Yuexi decided not to ask any further.

When the time was almost right, the family of four set out with their gifts and soon arrived at the banquet hall.

By then, the hall was already bustling with people.

There were various relatives and friends of the Su Family, house servants busy running around, as well as families from Yunye City big and small, and there sat Su Xuefeng in the center, chatting and laughing merrily with everyone.

“Eh, isn’t that the pride of the Su Family, Su Zhenglong?

Aren’t you dead yet?”

Just as Su Zhenglong was about to step forward to offer birthday greetings, an eerily sarcastic voice rang out, causing the expressions of Sikong Jing and the others to darken.

At the same time, the entire banquet hall fell silent.

Gazes converged on Su Zhenglong, filled with complexity as well as sneering mockery.

Everyone in Yunye City knew Su Zhenglong wouldn’t live much longer and that he was not favored by Su Xuefeng.
