Berserk God of War

21: Chapter 021 I Hate People Who Renege on Debts 21: Chapter 021 I Hate People Who Renege on Debts Dozens of people in the audience widened their eyes, staring in disbelief at the lowest-quality Green Jade Stone Plate in Sikong Jing’s hand.

“Impossible…”

Such a voice echoed in everyone’s mind, but the Martial Arts aura emanating from the Green Jade Stone Plate was indeed genuine.

The breathing of everyone present became rapid.

The once superior smile on Young Master Chu Bo’s face had vanished, leaving only dumbfounded shock.

“Now, shouldn’t you honor our bet?” Sikong Jing’s voice shattered the calm, pointing directly at Chu Bo.

The crowd also began to whisper among themselves, slowly shifting their gaze to Chu Bo.

A sharp voice arose from a beautiful store clerk, who angrily pointed at Sikong Jing and petulantly said, “What a joke, do you know who Young Master Chu is?

How dare you ask him to honor a bet?”

Sikong Jing replied expressionlessly, “I don’t know, nor do I need to know.”

He of course didn’t know who Chu Bo was; to him, Chu Bo was just someone who insulted others and thus deserved to be insulted in return.

The beautiful store clerk puffed out her chest and coldly introduced, “Then I will kindly inform you now, Young Master Chu is the eldest son of the Chu Family, one of the Four Great Families in Yunye City.

It’s not too late to try to ingratiate yourself with him.”

At these words, the audience’s look toward Sikong Jing changed again, now tainted with a hint of mockery.

Some even stepped forward and said, “I have to say, you have great luck, encountering a once-in-a-century success in inscription, but I advise you to drop the matter of the bet.”

The entire audience shrugged; this fool might have had good luck, but he had the misfortune of dealing with Young Master Chu Bo.

No one took the bet seriously anymore, and nobody believed that Sikong Jing succeeded in inscription through genuine skill.

After all, the Green Jade Stone Plate of the lowest quality had a near-zero success rate for inscription.

“Brother, quit while you’re ahead.”

“There are some people you can’t afford to provoke, so keep your thoughts in check and hold your tongue.”

“Right, be careful or you might court deadly trouble.”

“Since you inscribed a Martial Skill, you should be grateful you no longer have to kneel, so go ahead and thank Young Master Chu for the favor of giving you the Stone.”

Quite a few onlookers seemed kindly advising Sikong Jing.

Snap!

Chu Bo closed his folded fan with a flick of his wrist, his voice tinged with a few strands of eeriness, “Such a disappointment, no need for thanks.”

He was in a very foul mood, having originally intended only to tease a fool for fun, and never expected to get slapped in the face.

“I’ll buy that Green Jade Stone Plate from you for one Silver Crystal Coin.”

As he spoke, Chu Bo then said to his house servant behind him, “Give this fool a Silver Crystal Coin, then smash his Green Jade Stone Plate, and make him crawl out from under my crotch.”

With one foot on a stool, he pointed at Sikong Jing and sneered repeatedly.

Chu Bo’s house servant immediately stepped forward, with a Silver Crystal Coin slamming down at Sikong Jing’s feet, and coldly asked for the Stone Plate, “Hand over the plate.”

Sikong Jing’s eyes narrowed, and he suddenly said, “I, detest welchers!”

Boom!

As soon as the words were out, True Qi burst forth from Sikong Jing’s body, and with a backhanded slap, he sent Chu Bo’s house servant flying.

At the moment the servant screamed in pain, Sikong Jing flashed in front of Chu Bo.

He kicked viciously into Chu Bo’s abdomen.

Chu Bo, who was waiting for Sikong Jing to suffer the humiliation, was caught off guard.

He let out a weird cry as his body flew from the Heavenly Martial Pavilion into the street, but Sikong Jing was already on his heels…

Thud, thud went two kicks, both landing on Chu Bo’s knees.

Plump…

Chu Bo directly kneeled in the middle of the street, with nothing but howls of agony coming from his mouth.

All happened in the blink of an eye, by the time the crowd inside Heavenly Martial Pavilion came to their senses, Chu Bo was already kneeling with a distorted face.

Before him stood Sikong Jing, upright and imposing.

Ignoring the surprise around him, Sikong Jing boldly asked, “Young Master Chu, do you remember the content of our bet?”

After a long moment, Chu Bo snapped back to reality, eyes bloodshot as he said, “You scoundrel, you dare to hit me?”

Saying this, Chu Bo tried to get up, but as he made a move, a heart-piercing pain came from his feet.

“Don’t act recklessly, or your knees will be ruined.”

While attacking Chu Bo’s knees, Sikong Jing had injected some True Qi between the sinews and bones, which was the source of Chu Bo’s intense pain.

This little trick was, of course, second nature to the once Invincible Divine General.

Chu Bo, of course, didn’t believe this and attempted to move, but as the pain intensified, his face turned beet red, and sweat streamed wildly.

“Fulfill the bet, and I will relieve you of the pain,” Sikong Jing reminded.

However, the next moment, a deep voice came to his ears: “Young man, should you not spare others when you can?

Forcing too hard will bring you no good, especially here in Yunye City.”

The voice came from the direction of Heavenly Martial Pavilion, and a middle-aged man walked out from the doorway.

Around the middle-aged man were those “well-intentioned” onlookers.

Meanwhile, the beautiful clerk who had been at the side of the middle-aged man pointed directly at Sikong Jing and said, “Kid, didn’t you hear what Master Lu said?

Help Young Master Chu up, or you’re as good as dead.”

Sikong Jing turned his head and asked the middle-aged man, “Are you the Sub Pavilion Master of Yunye City’s Heavenly Martial Pavilion?”

“Indeed, I am Lu Zhao by name.”

The middle-aged man introduced himself with a calm demeanor and added, “I gather from your accent that you are from out of town, aren’t you?

Take it from me, even with your Bright Realm Sixth Layer strength, you are not capable of acting wildly in Yunye City.”

The strength Sikong Jing showed just now was quite clear; he was merely at the Bright Realm Sixth Layer.

Yunye City might not be big, but there were countless who could kill him.

Today he just happened to encounter Chu Bo, the dissolute young master who had no interest in making progress.

If he were facing another Chu Family scion, he wouldn’t possibly still have the chance to stand and talk.

“Chu Bo is the eldest young master of the Chu Family, one of the Four Great Families.

If you stop now and apologize, there might still be time.”

Seeing Sikong Jing unmoved, Lu Zhao reminded him again.

Shrugging his shoulders, Sikong Jing stepped toward Lu Zhao and offered the inscribed Green Jade Stone Plate, “Since you’re the Sub Pavilion Master of Heavenly Pavilion Martial, why don’t you give this Green Jade Stone Plate a price.”

“You…”

Lu Zhao hadn’t expected Sikong Jing to be so impervious, and now he had the mood to price the Green Jade Stone Plate?

Exhaling sharply, Lu Zhao said in a cold voice, “Fine, but before appraising the stone plate’s value, I will appraise that you won’t live past the rise of tomorrow’s sun.”

Since the young man in front of him wouldn’t listen, there was no point in further words.

Lu Zhao immediately channeled True Qi into the Green Jade Stone Plate, his expression still as placid as water.

The martial skill inscribed on such a stone was at most Yellow Grade Lower Rank, and its price wouldn’t exceed ten Silver Crystal Coins.

“Hmm?”

Suddenly, Lu Zhao’s expression froze.

The True Qi within his body began to act up uncontrollably.

His face grew redder, blood vessels in his eyes surfacing one by one, his entire being resembling one cooked alive.

“Pavilion Master, why are you angry?”

“Is it because this fool cheated, tampered with the Green Jade Stone Plate?”

The beautiful clerk immediately inquired upon seeing this, it was clear that the Pavilion Master was on the verge of exploding with rage, otherwise his face wouldn’t be so red.

She added fuel to the fire, “I told you, there’s no way this fool could succeed.”
