Berserk God of War

11: Chapter 011 The Fierce Mother-in-law 11: Chapter 011 The Fierce Mother-in-law To ordinary people, the mere Bright Realm Fourth Level would seem impossible to win, and Sikong Jing couldn’t even defeat Su Zhengtao with a single finger, yet at that time, Sikong Jing stood fearless, shielding Su Yuexi in front of him.

In that instant, Su Zhenglong had already accepted Sikong Jing as his son-in-law, regardless of whether he was a criminal or not.

But he still wanted to hear Sikong Jing himself voice the fearless reason.

Sikong Jing didn’t hesitate and spoke truthfully, “Father-in-law, even if I’m only at the Bright Realm Fourth Level, it’s not certain who will die.”

In that moment, Su Zhenglong’s smile stiffened, and his brow furrowed, for Sikong Jing had spoken too boldly.

His fondness for this son-in-law plummeted!

He wanted to hear Sikong Jing declare that he was unafraid of death for Yuexi’s sake, not this kind of childish bragging.

Su Yuexi also didn’t believe him and told Sikong Jing, “You were really too rash; you should have listened to me and hid properly!”

She felt a complaint in her heart, thinking that if her father hadn’t appeared just now, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

“I’m not used to hiding behind a woman,” Sikong Jing thought for a moment and then replied.

Stunned for a moment, Su Yuexi felt she didn’t like that remark from Sikong Jing, and softly replied, “But I’m your wife, and it’s also my duty to protect you.

Your situation is different from mine.”

After all, she was the daughter of the Su Family.

In contrast, Sikong Jing, the criminal son-in-law, was someone the entire Su family wanted dead sooner rather than later.

Sikong Jing felt moved upon hearing this and wanted to explain something, but he faltered, leaving him with only one sentence, “I don’t want my wife to suffer, not even a bit.”

The words were plain, but Su Yuexi covered her mouth, her heart shaken.

On Su Zhenglong’s pale face, a smile once again emerged; this was what he had wanted to hear.

A slight moisture appeared in the corner of his eyes; ever since his daughter had become hideous ten years ago, no one had treated her this well.

The next moment, Sikong Jing added, “So wait a bit longer, and I will make those who humiliated you pay a heavy price.”

His eyes flashed with images of Su Zhengtao and Su Yun.

Once he improved his realm, he would certainly make them pay back a hundredfold for today’s mistreatment of Su Yuexi!

Su Zhenglong’s smile vanished again, his lips twitching…

This son-in-law was indeed good, but he was single-minded, reckless, and heedless of the consequences.

Oh well, considering his daughter’s condition, having a man willing to genuinely invest in her was enough; he didn’t know how much longer he would live, so his plan was to somehow protect their growth.

Su Yuexi was helpless but felt an unprecedented sweetness.

Subsequently, Sikong Jing followed father and daughter around in the Su Residence, finally arriving at their home.

They faced a somewhat dilapidated courtyard, and the surroundings were extremely poor, not at all like a place for the master’s family to reside.

It was known that Su Zhenglong was the eldest son of the Family Head of the Su Family.

Seeing Sikong Jing’s surprised expression, Su Yuexi quickly explained, “This is the old house of the Su family before we rose to prominence; the surroundings are a bit dirty, and house servants live here, so please don’t mind it.”

Of course, Sikong Jing wouldn’t mind; where he lived wasn’t important to him at the moment, he was just surprised.

The conditions of Su Yuexi’s family in the Su Residence were indeed hard!

“Master…”

Suddenly, a woman burst out from the courtyard’s main gate, screaming as she approached Su Zhenglong, “How could you sneak out without telling me, do you even care about your life?”

Sikong Jing looked at the middle-aged woman.

If he wasn’t mistaken, she was his mother-in-law.

She was dressed simply, her face marked by frown lines, but one could see she had been a great beauty in her youth; at this moment, the corners of her eyes were tearful, clearly distressed because Su Zhenglong had gone missing.

“Mother…”

Before Su Zhenglong could speak, Su Yuexi greeted her.

Before her words had ended, her mother, Mei Xiaofang’s expression drastically changed as she noticed Su Yuexi’s presence and harshly said, “You disgraceful freak, why have you come back?

Weren’t you at the pig farm?”

In an instant, Sikong Jing’s expression darkened; others insulting Su Yuexi was one thing, but even her own mother did so?

Before Su Yuexi could open her mouth, Mei Xiaofang looked at Su Zhenglong and shouted angrily, “I knew it, it was you who had your father bring you back!

It’s enough that you disgrace us, but don’t you realize how your father’s health is?”

“To leave the pig farm, you even risk your father’s life?” At this, Mei Xiaofang trembled with anger and pointed at Su Yuexi’s nose, “How could I have given birth to such a curse?”

As Su Yuexi was being scolded, she was about to explain…

But Su Zhenglong intervened, “Xiaofang, it’s not like that…”

“Shut up, didn’t you promise to listen to me in everything?

Why did you still go out?” Mei Xiaofang interrupted sharply, then called out, “Come, someone help the master to his room to rest.”

With that, she snatched Su Zhenglong from Su Yuexi’s hands, and with the house servant that came out, helped Su Zhenglong inside.

Su Yuexi hung her head and said to the dazed Sikong Jing, “That’s just how mother is; she’s worried about father’s health.

She will definitely scold me later, so please don’t contradict her, okay?”

Sikong Jing remained silent, but upon seeing Su Yuexi’s pleading eyes, he finally said, “I’ll try.”
