Berserk God of War

7: Chapter 007: Su Family Law Enforcement Hall 7: Chapter 007: Su Family Law Enforcement Hall Thud…

Blood splattered out, spraying onto Su Yuexi’s face.

With a thud, Su Yuexi released the dagger and slumped to the ground, her face under the veil turning deathly pale.

The fierce woman’s eyes widened in death.

Sikong Jing slowly walked over, he was of course unmoved by such a minor scene, but he had seen countless new recruits kill for the first time, which took courage…

So, Sikong Jing asked with concern, “Su Yuexi, are you alright?”

Shaking violently all over as she got up, Su Yuexi faced Sikong Jing and swallowed, saying, “I, I’m fine…”

“Now that Aunt Dou is dead, there’s no proof of her claims.

When we get to the Su Family Law Enforcement Hall, you must not admit like you did just now that it was you who cut off Aunt Dou’s hands and feet, and definitely don’t confess to killing her.”

“It was all my doing, understand?”

Su Yuexi’s expression was solemn, her gaze fixed on Sikong Jing with determination.

Yet Sikong Jing’s eyes widened, and he stammered, “You killed this fierce woman, was it to silence her for my sake?”

He had thought that Su Yuexi killed out of hatred for the humiliation the fierce woman had caused earlier, but it turned out to be because of him—to protect him from the scrutiny of the Su Family Law Enforcement Hall?

“Yes,” Su Yuexi admitted with a nod.

“Why?”

Sikong Jing had seen far too many first-time killers.

It took not just courage, but a great deal of determination.

And Su Yuexi had acted because of him.

Lifting her eyelids, Su Yuexi spoke earnestly, “Because you are my husband, and I am a daughter of the Su family.”

“Even if I’ve made the gravest mistakes, they wouldn’t take my life, but it’s different for you.

You’re a convicted exile, whom everyone in the Su family would rather see dead straight away.”

Hearing this, Sikong Jing asked again, “Even if they don’t take your life, you will still be punished severely.”

The Su family could be heartless enough to let her live in such a filthy place, subject to the servitude and beatings of the household slaves.

How could Su Yuexi possibly get off lightly after committing murder?

Underneath her veil, Su Yuexi smiled innocently, “That’s still better than if you were dead.”

Having said that, Su Yuexi suddenly had an idea and pulled Sikong Jing along, “Come with me first…”

Without waiting for Sikong Jing’s consent, she pulled him towards the back of the thatched hut and started running.

Behind was the Su family’s pig farm, and beyond that lay the mountain forest.

Having run past the pig farm, Su Yuexi pulled Sikong Jing to a secluded cave in the forest and panted, “You hide here for now, and don’t come out, understand?

Wait until I come back.”

Sikong Jing was stunned again and asked, “Why?”

“I fear the Law Enforcement Hall will use this chance to harm you first.

Just don’t come out, that’s all.” Su Yuexi explained.

Just then, shouts of anger came from the direction of the hut—it was Su Yun leading the people from the Law Enforcement Hall.

“I must go now; otherwise, they will definitely come to search for us.

Remember to hide well.”

With that, Su Yuexi quickly ran back, disappearing from Sikong Jing’s hollow gaze.

Only when he could no longer see Su Yuexi did Sikong Jing slowly retract his gaze.

He, once an Invincible God General, nearly seven feet tall man, found his eyes reddening and his lips trembling at this moment.

If the Ninth Princess Yan Ruyu represented the extreme of heartlessness, then Su Yuexi was the warmest sunshine in this world.

“For nineteen years, this is the first time I, Sikong Jing, feel truly alive,” Sikong Jing took a deep breath and peered in the direction of the hut, saying, “But how could I let my wife suffer because of me?”

The words were resolute!

Having said that, he followed the direction Su Yuexi had gone, his True Qi from the Emperor Beheading Technique coursing continuously through him!

The Su Family Law Enforcement Hall was imposing and solemn.

As one of Yunye City’s Four Great Families, the Su family had thousands of members, with the Law Enforcement Hall serving as the place for interrogating and punishing the family’s own.

It was a place everyone in the Su family feared.

At this moment, a middle-aged man was seated at the head of the Law Enforcement Hall; he was Su Yuexi’s second uncle, Su Zhengtao.

His current position within the Su family was: Hall Master of the Law Enforcement Hall!

Standing beside Su Zhengtao was his most beloved daughter, Su Yun.

As the officials of the Law Enforcement Hall brought Su Yuexi in, Su Yun directly demanded, “Su Yuexi, where is that brazen, sickly convict husband of yours?”

In a low voice, Su Yuexi replied, “He just fell ill again, so I sent him for treatment.”

“Treatment?

What did you send him with, I bet he’s run away, hasn’t he?”

There was no way Su Yun would believe it.

Su Yuexi had been stripped of all her wealth when she was thrown into the pig farm five days ago.

Her own parents were strictly ordered by the Patriarch Su, her grandfather, to stop caring for her.

Without money or help, Su Yuexi had no means to send that sickly man for treatment.

To this, Su Yuexi stubbornly replied, “I did send him for treatment.”

“Alright, alright, still arguing with me, huh?

I don’t care if he’s being treated or if he’s escaped; in any case, he’s as good as dead, no one who hits me gets away with it…

Father, send men to capture him now,” Su Yun said, looking towards her father, Su Zhengtao.

Without hesitation, Su Zhengtao commanded, “Someone, bring that convict back to me.

If he resists, just cut him down.”

Su Yuexi’s heart trembled, praying that if Sikong Jing were to be found, he wouldn’t resist.

Just then, Su Zhengtao’s gaze returned to the center of the Law Enforcement Hall and ordered, “Su Yuexi, kneel down!”

With a thud, Su Yuexi knelt.

“It was you who mutilated Aunt Dou’s limbs and then killed her, right?” Su Zhengtao interrogated with a cold face.

Su Yuexi nodded, “Yes, it was all my doing.”

She was resolutely determined to take full responsibility for the deed.
