Berserk God of War

17: Chapter 017 Su Xuefeng 17: Chapter 017 Su Xuefeng Inside the courtyard, only Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi remained.

The cold wind blew gently, and although their wedding tonight was simple, it was also warm—yet it ended up in this current state.

Sikong Jing felt somewhat guilty, not because he had crippled Su Yang, even if given another chance he would do the same.

His guilt stemmed solely from causing Su Yuexi distress.

“Yuexi, being able to be married off by the Lord of Yunzhou proves that I am not an ordinary person.

Trust me, I will win in ten days,” Sikong Jing said, not knowing how else to comfort her.

He actually wanted to say that he was the Invincible God General spoken of in legends of the Great Shang Dynasty.

But he held his tongue at the last moment.

Knowing his true identity would benefit no one.

The enemies he had killed from other countries piled up like mountains, and the number of bandits he had eradicated was countless.

He had offended so many nobles in the Imperial Palace that if his identity were exposed, countless foes would attack him ferociously.

At this moment, he also understood why Yang Tianmo had not publicly stated that the marriage was granted by the Emperor.

Because only the marriage granted by the Lord of Yunzhou would not cause people to suspect his identity.

Of course, it wasn’t to protect him, but because the Ninth Princess, Yan Ruyu, wanted to see him marry an ugly wife and live a miserable life.

Su Yuexi reached out and took Sikong Jing’s hand, gently saying, “I am already your rightful wife, no matter what happens, I will always be by your side.”

In herself, she was merely clinging to life, her only reason to live being that her parents were still alive.

Now that she had become someone’s wife, naturally, her husband took precedence.

Sikong Jing’s eyes welled up, and he gently embraced Su Yuexi in his arms, at a loss for words.

“You, you really don’t despise me for being ugly?”

In the broad embrace of Sikong Jing, Su Yuexi murmured her question.

She thought back to Sikong Jing pulling off her veil and wiping the blood with a handkerchief, his gaze at that moment void of any fluctuation or disdain—a scene she had never witnessed before.

Sikong Jing smiled and said, “Don’t talk such foolishness, and besides, in ten days, I might just surprise you.”

In ten days, he should be able to reach the Bright Realm Ninth Layer.

That night, following his mother-in-law Mei Xiaofang’s advice, the two slept in separate rooms.

Sikong Jing immediately entered a state of cultivation.

…

At the same time, Su Zhengtao was playing chess with an old man in a room.

The old man was none other than his and Su Zhenglong’s father, Su Xuefeng.

Since Su Zhenglong had been severely injured by someone, Su Xuefeng, as the Patriarch of the Su Family, had shifted his focus to his second son, Su Zhengtao, and for ten years, he had doted on their family excessively.

Suddenly, Su Zhengtao asked, “Dad, why just cripple that criminal?

Why not simply kill him?”

Upon hearing this, Su Xuefeng’s face darkened as he replied, “The marriage granted by the Lord of Yunzhou has some deep meaning; that criminal should not die too quickly.

Let me test the waters first.”

“But that criminal must have committed a serious crime, or offended some terrifying person; otherwise, they would not have used that ugly monster to humiliate him,” Su Xuefeng referred to his granddaughter, Su Yuexi, as an ugly monster as well.

Then, gritting his teeth, Su Xuefeng cursed, “Damn it, how could I, Su Xuefeng, have the ugliest granddaughter in all Yunzhou?”

Breathing heavily, Su Yuexi was the greatest shame of the Su Family.

Because she was the ugliest, she had been given in marriage.

“Dad, calm down.

Su Yang crippling that criminal is an early birthday gift for you,” Su Zhengtao advised.

Thinking that he would soon see the criminal with chopped-off limbs made Su Xuefeng feel slightly better, but he still bitterly said, “I really want to see with my own eyes the miserable state of that criminal.”

“Second Master…

something terrible has happened.”

Suddenly, the voice of a house servant rose mournfully from outside the courtyard, naturally addressing Su Zhengtao.

The house servant rushed in, pale-faced, and blurted out, “Second Young Master Su Yang, he…

he…”

Smack!

Su Zhengtao slapped the house servant across the face.

“What’s the hurry?

Speak properly.

Didn’t you see the old master is also here?”

Hearing this, Su Xuefeng coldly said, “What happened to Little Yang?

Did he accidentally kill that criminal?

Or did he kill that freak?

It’s all fine, dead means dead.”

“No, it’s not…

Both of Second Young Master’s arms and legs are severed!” the house servant said with a stunned expression.

Boom!

Upon hearing this, both Su Xuefeng and Su Zhengtao felt as though they had been struck by lightning, their blood furiously boiling!

“What did you say?”

The father and son roared almost simultaneously and rushed out the door.

Then they saw Su Yang lying on a stretcher, his arms and legs completely useless, even the bones in his joints shattered.

Meanwhile, Su Yun was kneeling on the stretcher, sobbing uncontrollably.

Su Xuefeng’s hair fluttered wildly as he glared at Su Yun and demanded, “Who did this, was it that bastard Su Zhenglong?”

His eyes bloodshot and fists clenched, there was no one other than Su Zhenglong who would dare to cripple Su Yang.

“It was that damned criminal, he ambushed Second Brother…”

Su Yun, through gritted teeth, narrated the events, twisting the fact that Sikong Jing had bested Su Yang into an ambush.

Otherwise, there was no way Second Brother Su Yang would have lost.

“The criminal, I will go kill him!” Su Zhengtao, his body surging with True Qi, was about to storm out.

“Stop.” Su Xuefeng barked, his voice low and growling, “Even if it was an ambush, in this nominal feud among the younger generation, it’s Little Yang who has lost.

Su Zhenglong has a pretext to act ruthlessly.”

Su Zhengtao’s footsteps stiffened, fearing Su Zhenglong’s ruthlessness.

After all, even their father wouldn’t fare well against a desperate Su Zhenglong.

But staring at Su Yang’s dreadful condition, Su Zhengtao roared, eyes bloodshot, “Father, are we just going to swallow this insult?”

Su Xuefeng’s eyes were ice-cold: “Of course not.

In ten days, Little Shan will return to celebrate my birthday, and then we’ll let Little Shan kill him.”

Wait another ten days?

Su Zhengtao was very displeased.

Suddenly, Su Xuefeng shouted loudly, “Spread my command, from now on, cut off any financial supply to Su Zhenglong’s family; not even a copper coin should they get from the Su Residence.”

After issuing the order, he hurried out to seek medical help for Su Yang.

Su Zhengtao’s chest heaved up and down, his tone sinister and menacing, “In ten days, I’ll not only want that criminal dead, I also want Su Zhenglong dead from anger.

My father’s birthday feast shall be his memorial day.”

…

Day broke, and Sikong Jing had been practicing cultivation through the night, he had also reached Bright Realm Fifth Level.

“What are you doing?

Stop, don’t snatch it!”

Suddenly, his mother-in-law Mei Xiaofang’s shrill scream came from outside the room.

Then the door was flung open, and he saw Su Yuexi gasping for breath, “Sikong Jing, the servants at home are robbing Mother’s belongings.”

Sikong Jing paused, then quickly pulled Su Yuexi to the center of the courtyard.

There they saw six or seven individuals dressed as house servants surrounding Mei Xiaofang, and a middle-aged couple was among them, tugging at a piece of silk Mei Xiaofang held.

Mei Xiaofang, frantic, exclaimed, “Have you all gone mad?

Let go of me.”

“Hmph, you owe us half a month’s wages, do you want us to starve to death?” said the middle-aged house servant fiercely as he snatched the silk.
