Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 826: Chapter 622: The Sacred Land and Statue of the Father of Elves

Alessio put his hands on his hips and looked up at the silhouette of his wife once again departing, couldn’t help but sigh, today Lis was truly enjoying herself, having direct involvement in so many intriguing things.

He turned to look at Hill, his gaze paused slightly: ”I’ll catch fish for you!”

”I’ll do it myself.” Hill quickly said.

”The silverfish are already accustomed to my scent; switching people can affect their condition. Frightened fish won’t eat for many days.” Alessio waved his hand and hastened to catch fish for Hill.

However, after catching a fish, he couldn’t resist pondering it deeply while repeatedly stroking it with his hands.

Hill knew this scholar, sensitive to life force, had discovered a large increase in vitality on the silverfish; a typical Druid’s nature blessing would never allow fish in water to have such enhanced life force like Hill’s.

But Hill, carrying water system divine arts and blessings of the sun and moon, always embraced a broad definition of nature; from the celestial sun and moon, to underground fungi, even some microscopic bacteria, all are categorized as nature in his view, so his nature blessing could nearly match the power wielded by the incarnations of the Father of Nature.

And in Toril, only deities like the Oak Spirit, who truly perceive nature as a unified whole, would be so comprehensive when releasing nature’s blessing.

Though many Archdruids devoted to the Oak Spirit can achieve this, they understand the principle gradually through practice, but their divine arts are hard to alter and can only bifurcate their blessings into plants and animals classes; many Druids’ blessings might even bypass beasts.

After all, Druids tend to be a rather idealistic profession, once the mindset falters, it’s tough to climb back up.

Hill chuckled softly, after all, he had attended biology classes, and such macro to micro definitions were virtually his common sense.

Alessio gave Hill a slightly odd look, but soon gathered his expression, bent down and started catching fish in the water: ”Now I can give you more, your nature blessing is indeed useful.

I’ve picked 50 of each gender for you, best to rear them for a while before starting to consume.

When eating fish, try to choose ones that haven’t successfully paired, this species is quite picky about mates, and if paired, they won’t breed again if their partner dies.

The ones that successfully paired I won’t give you, this fish is really picky, after forming a family, changing environments will make the female delay spawning for a long time.

Thanks to you, by spring, all my silverfish could likely enter breeding season, truly a rare bountiful harvest.

This is really great, by then I can allocate to those underdeveloped newborns in the forest, ever since Hell’s Gate was unleashed, there aren’t many healthy children in the Supreme Forest.”

Alessio tirelessly imparted another round of silverfish breeding knowledge to Hill, who could only silently accept them one by one, placing them into a pendant.

The Oak Spirit had already prepared everything but Hill remained puzzled as to how Alessio was sure that he was ready for silverfish rearing conditions.

This part-time priest and scholar, could he possess some foreknowledge ability?

Actually, Alessio merely observed that Hill’s pendant no longer emitted light and tentatively inquired, since this Archmage didn’t show any signs of difficulty, he surely must be prepared!

The sky gradually dimmed, the twilight’s remnant glimmers shimmering their final beams, Lis rode the wind directly down beside the two, completed their exchanges and prepared to rest.

”Alessio~ Hill~ Moss is really useful!” Lis’s large eyes sparkled with delight, ”The Captain of the Guard said that today the Sanctuary Festival will be held!

Hill, you’re invited too~ As long as you have Elven Bloodline, even if you aren’t Corellon’s follower you can participate in the Sanctuary Festival, which is Corellon’s grace to all followers.

It’s not just the Captain, all of our team members hope today’s events will capture Corellon’s gaze.”

Lis solemnly gazed at Hill: ”This invitation is made in the name of Aevraestar’s Sword, hoping Mr. Hill can participate in today’s Ael’Tauquil Festival as an honored guest.

We hope the sky-blue new moon will rise above the sanctuary.”

Hill paused slightly before cautiously responding: ”The singing of joy during the sky-blue starry night’s glow, I would very much like to enjoy.”

Lis and Alessio laughed together, they indeed knew, Hill must have gained the most ancient gold elves’ legacy, such invocation prayer for Corellon’s gaze, most elves nowadays wouldn’t even know how to say.

It’s a pity that their probing failed. Hill, this demigod, actually doesn’t worship Coron.

Lis was a bit disappointed, but this is considered normal among the elves. Some half-elves who adhere to order don’t quite agree with Coron’s ideas; they don’t like that kind of capricious chaos.

Hill thought for a moment and then temporarily parted ways with Lis, planning to return to the Magic Tower to change into a formal outfit. The black magic robe he was wearing was not quite suitable for appearing at the Crescent Holy Communion celebration.

Hill knew that most of the elves today would probably be wearing sky-blue ceremonial robes, so he better avoid all blue robes. Otherwise, he’d look foolish just standing on the side while the elves danced and sang.

Looking at the wardrobe in his bedroom for a while, he realized: black and blue are out. Wearing white, well, if Coron were really attracted over, the angels around him would probably be wearing it. After all, the descent should be the true form of the Divine Kingdom, and the formally manifesting Coron is always accompanied by gracefully singing and dancing winged angels.

After pushing aside those three colors of robes, Hill awkwardly discovered he had only a few options left. Most of the robes in other colors were bought from the Undead Tribe, full of lustrous and luxurious feel, which was fine, but... at an elven gathering, if he doesn’t want too many joyous invitations, it’s best to dress conservatively.

Especially considering these are the followers of Coron, the Main God known as Father of Elves, it’s imaginable that most of them are careless about gender distinctions and unperturbed by rawness.

”Sir, you might choose that camel-colored robe. Although it’s from the Undead Tribe, that style is particularly traditional.” Li Si quietly spoke after watching for a while.

Even with Marsha not present, shouldn’t he be asked about such matters as the Tower Spirit? No matter how unfamiliar with pairing, it’s better than Hill randomly picking something!

Hesitating, Hill took out that robe. Outfits from the Undead Tribe often come complete with shoes and accessories, and this one was made with sky-blue metal, no wonder Li Si recommended it.

Moreover, it seemed to cover up nicely; although the inner robe was quite form-fitting, there was also a wide cloak on the outside. He nodded with satisfaction and quickly went to take a shower and change.

After tying his golden hair with a sky-blue hair chain, Hill thought for a moment and then fastened Fran’s hairpin to his hair.

When he landed on the ground, Lis and Alessio had also changed into light blue gauzy robes. Hill... Hill felt a little breathless.

He encouraged himself: elves are a race that dislikes restraints, a race that likes to showcase its sensuality. No matter what you see, you’d better keep a straight face!

At least Lis and Alessio managed to cover key parts with a strip of cloth, though it was thin, it was better than nothing! Moreover, the silver crescent embroidery on their robes was quite heavy, covering much of the view.

Trying hard to maintain composure, Hill followed the excitedly bouncing Lis towards the highest peak of the Star Mountain Range, then stopped at a platform halfway up the mountain.

Most of the elves had already arrived. Fortunately, Hill had mentally prepared himself along the way; indeed, many elves chose to remain unrestrained. They relied solely on crescent patterns to cover critical parts, but elves loved to leap around, even standing on big stones, which actually didn’t cover anything.

As Hill had expected, although the styles varied, most elves wore sky-blue robes, with silver or mithril crescent pendants hanging from their foreheads or silver chains around their necks.

Sure enough, here in the Star Mountain Range, it was almost all Coron’s priests or priests; otherwise, not everyone could wear such sky-blue gauzy robes.

Soon, the cliff in front of the platform opened, revealing an iron gate made of ivy and ever-blooming roses to everyone present.

Inside the gate, the silver-blue light shimmered, and the elves started to enter in groups of twos and threes.

”Let’s go~” Lis cheerfully beckoned to Hill, ”As long as you have elven blood, the Holy Land of Coron will allow entry, without even judging your faction. In the past, when the Supreme Forest was still well, even demon-born and dark elves would come to worship, taking advantage of the night!”

Hill smiled and followed behind to walk in.

Although indeed he was invited as an honored guest, the elves didn’t intend to have any sort of entrance ceremony, they were all acting very casually.

This was completely different from human society celebrations. Hill was a bit interested now, as long as he looked away quickly enough.

Upon entering the gate, there stood a row of tall columns decorated with ivy and roses, but following the stone path down led to a circular valley where one could see the stars and Silvermoon above.

A large number of trees and plants were woven into the stone walls and decorative pillars. Magic fountains were spread all around, and the ground was covered with soft grass for people to sit and lie on.

An awesome green-veined marble dome woven into the canopy stood at the forefront, right below which was Coron’s statue: an extraordinarily beautiful creator of elves, traditionally depicted with a lean face, sky-blue eyes, and a straight nose. Long and charming eyes, adorned in armor and carrying a slender sword. A delicate diadem decorated the brow of Avando’s Crowned King, and the entire statue exuded a sense of calm and contentment.

Hill thought about the real Coron he had seen in Agleya City, then looked at this overly serious statue and felt the elves were somewhat self-deceptive.
