Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 813: Chapter 609 Hill Preparing to Travel Around the World

It was because Hill foresaw the difficult days the Elves were about to face that he decided to set out early on his travels.

Everyone knows he acquired a lot of supplies, but Hill doesn’t need to share the pressure humans impose on Eternity Island Elves.

This is different from those past events, it won’t affect the safety of the entire Elf race, nor is it humans proactively targeting Elves; success or failure doesn’t really impact their lives.

Humans aren’t foolish, even if Coron doesn’t care about suppressing the Elves who established a nation on the Ferun Great Land, he certainly wouldn’t stand by and watch them die.

If they could use hard measures, who would bother with the soft ones?

As long as Hill is absent, no Elf could openly threaten Lynn in Coron’s presence to compromise Hill’s interests.

On the contrary, if Hill stayed here, Lynn would face immense pressure.

There will always be someone trying to persuade Lynn to discuss the future of the Elves with Hill, hoping Hill would make the necessary sacrifices for their survival.

Hill isn’t just worrying for nothing; humans and Elves both abound with such people who are generous at others’ expense.

Even if Hill refused, they would label him as someone completely indifferent to the Elves’ future.

Hill always hated trouble, and he certainly wouldn’t be foolish enough to become part of the Toril World.

But he can understand Lynn’s unease; his friend just discovered for the first time how much power he truly wields. The Elves who once looked down on him, their future is in his hands.

Including those so-called Great Nobility of the Eternity Island Elves, all had to live begrudgingly under his orders.

These Elves once controlled his fate. The scene of his mother hugging him outside the parliament, grief-stricken, when they voted to expel all Half-Elves, regardless of their race, from Eternity Island, Lynn would never forget.

Lynn silently poured himself a glass of wine, gestured to Hill, and drank it in one gulp: ”I’m still not quite used to the power in my hands. My abilities and mindset can’t keep up a bit. Agleya City has grown too fast; I need to settle down for a while.”

”You can chat with the Temporal Artifact,” Hill gave a peculiar suggestion.

”What do you mean?” Lynn asked in surprise, ”That artifact...”

”If occasionally the artifact speaks lively, it’s likely King William,” Hill said, resting his chin on his hand, his tone leisurely, ”The God of Time and Space always prefers research to meddling in affairs.”

William is different; he’s afraid of too little to do and constantly watches the dynamics of the Undead Tribe.

When you encounter him, you could ask how he manages cities like Agleya; he has the experience, and he isn’t afraid of chaos.

Someone who can manage the Undead Tribe so efficiently, think about how capable he is.

Though he is thick-skinned and eccentric, he is undoubtedly a powerful politician.

Also, when you occasionally hear Coron commenting on affairs on the continent, make sure to shamelessly listen in.

Especially when he’s discussing issues with the Temporal Artifact.

Though Coron mishandles many things, politically and militarily, he is top-tier in Toril.

He glanced at Lynn again: ”Don’t feel embarrassed; if he’s not afraid of showing off in front of you, why should you be?

Know that while Elves generally respect him as the Father of Elves, you are Miliel’s Priest.

This shows that Coron doesn’t care about these petty face-saving issues, so why should you?

Seize every opportunity to progress, Lynn; Coron is merely waiting for something, not intending to stay here indefinitely.”

Though Hill doesn’t know what the Father of Elves is plotting, at least he understands that the ruler of the Elf Deity System wouldn’t stick on the Ferun Great Land for no reason.

He doesn’t manage external affairs much likely to avoid AO coming to expel him, not because he’s truly indifferent and just wants to watch the excitement.

After that epic battle, Coron still wouldn’t leave, which made Hill suspicious. With the Seraph leader there, if Coron just wanted to watch the excitement, he could easily do so through Rashrael’s eyes.

When he returned from the Stellar Realm, and the Father of Elves was still there, Hill confirmed he had something to do.

Only a fool would believe he’s really that bored.

Watching the excitement is certainly a reason, but definitely not the most important one.

Lynn nodded, initially thinking Coron was waiting for the Elves’ nation-building journey, thus displaying politeness to the Eternity Island Elves early on; later, even in anger, he left them room.

Until realizing Coron didn’t even intend to bless the Elves for the war, he only gave a peace blessing when he first met Prince Ramriel.

He then realized he had misunderstood; to the Father of Elves, Eternity Island Elves hadn’t regained his favor, nor earned the right to receive blessings.

The person in question wouldn’t waste his time on the Elf nation’s founding war, which he completely disregards; it must be for something else.

But since Coron showed such an entertainment-seeking demeanor, Lynn could only pretend to see nothing.

He nodded thoughtfully: ”I understand, I will go.”

Then Lynn suddenly remembered Hill’s words: ”Are you going out again?”

”There won’t be anything happening in Agleya City for a short while, so I’m going out to explore.” Hill smiled and said, ”Purwell is very fast, and if anything happens, I can choose to return immediately using dimensional travel.”

Lynn thought about the talents of the Otherworldly Whale and nodded.

He also knew that although Mages spend most of their time in their Magic Towers researching, they still need to go out and explore, and when Hill first arrived, he mentioned he was on a journey.

Not to mention, Hill is a Demigod Sorcerer, and sorcerers seem to enjoy wandering.

Purwell flew with them over the sea’s sky for a long time, and then accompanied by Silvermoon’s glow, returned to the Floating Castle. Hill looked down at the castle he had completely emptied and turned to tell Lynn: ”List has already handed control of the Floating Castle to Marsha. Except for our bedrooms, you can access other areas.”

Lynn laughed: ”What should I do here when you’re not around?”

Hill smiled silently, only getting up to see Lynn off.

After talking with Lynn, Hill, along with the Little Fairies who promptly moved their beloved plants, trees, and pets into Purwell’s body, embarked on a distant journey.

He left just in time, right before the founding ceremony invitation of the Elf Kingdom: Emerald Country was sent to the entire world.

Lynn sat at City Hall and received the Elf Nobility who came with invitation cards via airship, regretfully informing them that the lord had already left.

As a subordinate, he would send a gift according to the continent’s tradition before the founding ceremony and wish Emerald Country to always stand tall on the continent.

The Elves left helplessly, while Lynn couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

He didn’t understand why the Prince was in such a hurry to officially establish a nation just a month after occupying Mulan. This meant many diplomatic messengers from countries across the continent couldn’t arrive in time.

Not every country or city-state had a portal to Deepwater City or Anmur Nation’s Capital.

Moreover, wasn’t this allowing Anmur to know how many countries truly wished to express goodwill towards the Elves?

Even he could see that clearly, so the Prince and Elf Nobility must understand.

Even if Moon Elves were confused, they wouldn’t make political mistakes. Anyone that foolish would have already been reduced to ashes in Eternity Island’s millennial political battles.

Unless... Lynn suddenly looked up at those airships; what the Elves truly wanted to know was whether any countries would choose to return to Emerald Country with their airships.

How could that be?

Lynn hesitated and shook his head, only a nation requiring Elven aid would be that eager, but what significance would that bring?

He walked around City Hall twice, gazing at the various residents merrily passing by outside the door, and finally made a decision: Hill was right; if you don’t understand, find someone who does.

”Why is Lynn here?” Rashrael noticed him keenly and opened and landed his wings quickly, ”Is something big happening outside?”

Lately, the Undead Tribe had been fighting earnestly but hadn’t yet approached the Supreme Forest, leaving the Seraph leader a bit bored while Coron didn’t allow them to leave the hall.

He flapped his wings and landed next to Lynn, draping his left arm around Agleya City’s mayor’s neck: ”I heard Hill prepared lots of fun toys for those Little Fairies.

Eh~ Hill couldn’t have made them only for those little ones; he must have some for himself too! Are there any on the Floating Castle?”

Lynn suddenly understood the meaning behind Hill’s last words before leaving.

Hill indeed had them, and those Magical Plants also loved playing those games, though their sizes couldn’t be reduced to play with the Little Fairies. Hill, who always indulged his companions, made a set for them as well.

Lynn himself had played and really enjoyed them.

He was indeed very young, still at the age of enjoying play and fun.

Lynn could only be seen as barely an adult. Before he became the sheriff of that small town, he was under the escort and protection of a Gold Elf Druid master.

Lynn nodded helplessly: ”There are, but I need to ask Hill.”

Rashrael wouldn’t play by himself; Lynn decided to go back and ask Hill. He knew Marsha could contact List.

Although Hill gave him the permissions, Lynn still wanted to ask again; he had always been cautious about Hill’s matters.

As he broke free from Rashrael and walked toward Coron, Lynn felt a bit dazed thinking that the Undead Tribe should soon reach his home.
