Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 811: Chapter 607: What to Do with the Large Garbage Delivered by the Elf

The elves’ intentions were clear at a glance.

The magic communication aura in the sky over the Ferun Great Land was visible to the naked eye, not to mention the flocks of birds flying freely.

However, the entire Ferun Great Land remained silent about what had happened.

Nobody felt there was any need to rescue Mulan.

Including the Kingdom of Anmur, they almost didn’t want to acknowledge this prince as one of their own.

Even though he was banished from the kingdom for his foolishness and went on to establish a city outside its borders, they had never denied his origin. After all, Anmur had a keen interest in Mulan.

Of course, if he hadn’t been so foolish, no prince would have continued to listen to the Amur Royalty after establishing their power elsewhere. As long as money and women were offered, he would agree to anything, even willing to bear the guilt of collaborating with pirates.

The pirates of the Moonshadow Sea had protested many times to Anmur that the prince had no redeeming qualities aside from his immense greed, stating that his intelligence was even inferior to that of a magical beast and hoping they would replace him as the Lord of Mulan.

Although the King of Anmur was astonished by the prince’s greed, which even the pirates couldn’t tolerate, Andreju’s foolishness was the only way to control Mulan.

If any other prince or even a great noble were sent there, they would rely on Mulan’s unique geography and ignore Anmur.

He still hoped that Anmur’s power would grow strong enough not to fear the protests of other Ferun nations and reclaim the territory of Mulan. Collaborating with the pirates of the Moonshadow Sea was an excellent excuse!

Unfortunately, Andreju’s foolishness was a tool anyone could exploit.

Now all plans had turned to dust, with a new and even more troublesome neighbor on the horizon.

Anmur’s collaboration with the Moonshadow Sea was utterly doomed, and the pirates dared not plunder where the Invincible Elf Fleet patrolled; their gaze would turn back to Anmur.

Yet over the years, Anmur had provided these pirates with an abundance of weapons and ammunition.

Upon hearing news that the elves’ air warships attacked Mulan, the King of Anmur fumed and smashed things in his chamber for an entire afternoon. He couldn’t even send anyone for a rescue!

How could any human kingdom compare with the speed and attack power of the Elven Royal Fleet? If they could, who would need to maintain pirates?

The most painful thing for him was knowing that when Mulan completely fell, he would still have to spend money to ransom that idiot Andreju!

No Royal Family Member must fall into foreign hands unless Anmur wanted to lose face entirely!

No, he couldn’t pay this money himself! Initially, his plan was to fully annex Mulan into Anmur’s territory, but his ministers were too afraid and forced him to compromise by sending Andreju. He’d already lost face; he couldn’t lose money too!

King of Anmur wasn’t wrong. Although General Gael was furious that his and his aides’ carefully devised plans turned to ashes, and the warriors of the Royal Fleet were left scavenging for street food in Agleya City, the opportunity couldn’t be wasted.

So after seeking Prince Ramriel’s approval, General Gael immediately issued a summons.

Though the members of the Royal Fleet returned a bit disheveled, compared to the Moon Elves gathering fruits in the forest, they had assembled quickly, their hands full of snacks, even if they had rushed back from Agleya Port.

General Gael had initially worried about losing face, but now he could only stand aside, watching as Prince Ramriel finally lost control and started swearing.

When General Gael sought his opinion, the prince was decisive, making a decision in under a minute, but all the saved time was wasted by his subordinates.

Gael actually thought he should have done this long ago.

The biggest flaw of the Moonflower Family was their good temper, always caring for their acknowledged subjects like a mother hen caring for her chicks.

If it were her, when those nobles offended Lynn, she would have cursed those foolish idiots to death!

This had nothing to do with Lynn being her grandson; regardless of who Lynn was before, he was now the mayor of the City of the Divine!

And behind him stood the Archmage with an unpredictable attitude towards the Eternity Island Elves. Anyone with a bit of intelligence could see how trusted Lynn was.

When they went to see Coron together, that individual’s friendly and natural attitude towards Lynn was evident, even though he merely asked an angel to request some delicacies from Lynn, proving Lynn’s status there.

The Moon Elves could act as if nothing mattered, only believing in their imagination.

Even she, the grandmother, had adjusted her attitude towards Lynn since that day, trying not to use a commanding tone when speaking to him.

Lynn was a child who valued familial bonds greatly. If possible, he would certainly help his family, and any doubts could be directly asked; he would share whatever he could.

Moreover, his sense of responsibility was heavy, and his temper was quite good, even among the Gold Elves. When Gael approached him, she found that many humans and elves could freely seek Lynn for inquiries. Had the Moon Elves adjusted their attitude from the start, their outcome would likely have been much better.

Gael snorted angrily. Really strange, where did the Moonflower Family’s bloodline come from? How could they be so out of step with their own subjects?

Prince Ramriel, despite being the most short-tempered in the Moonflower family, managed to hold back until now.

General Gael finally realized that before leaving Eternity Island, the Queen’s insistence on finding a hard-tempered Gold Elf for this prince was a wise move.

The Queen likely hoped to instill a bit of majesty in the royal bloodline—no more soft-heartedness. Besides, upon leaving Eternity Island, Ramriel would no longer be just the king of the Moon Elves.

Even if only a small number of elves from other races followed Ramriel to the mainland, he could still be proclaimed the Elf King, and the Moonflower Royalty would no longer need to marry exclusively within the Moon Elves.

Moreover, this new kingdom would certainly accept the presence of Half-Elves. As long as Ramriel established a nation, his two sisters who are wandering the mainland would surely rush over.

Gael began to seriously consider this matter, but the temperament of the Gold Elves was too volatile. It might be better to start with the Wood Elves, who, although stubborn, don’t quarrel irrationally.

Even though the Moon Elves were a bit slow, once they realized their prince was truly angry, these loyal servants of the Royal Family worked tirelessly to finish all preparations before nightfall.

The Elf Fleet set sail overnight and appeared outside Mulan by early morning.

Prince Andreju’s counselors, upon figuring out what had happened, exercised their last bit of professional duty. They informed this foolish prince of the consequences of his actions, then fled with their families overnight.

Of course, they wouldn’t go back to Anmur, as the King of Anmur wouldn’t listen to their explanations, even though the situation resulted from Andreju’s stupidity.

But other countries on the Ferun Great Land would accept their allegiance.

You see, the city of Mulan persisted until now thanks to this group capable of both getting things done and sweet-talking Prince Andreju’s counselors.

Nobody would blame them for this incident; they were not planning to be prisoners along with Andreju. Most factions did not see any issues with their decision.

In Toril, those who bravely die for a wise lord are certainly praiseworthy, but those who die generously for a fool—well, even devils won’t take their souls for fear of spreading stupidity.

However, it’s baffling how Prince Andreju managed to deceive himself. Even as his counselors and some soldiers with a bit of sense fled overnight, he still believed nothing serious would happen.

He didn’t even inform the whole city or enforce martial law, let alone conscript soldiers.

The high-ups who understood the situation, especially those with connections to pirates, naturally ran away overnight, leaving only clueless Mulan civilians. In the morning sunlight, they stared in bewilderment at hundreds of elf flying ships with weapons drawn overhead.

Truthfully, even the elves were perplexed.

They knew they had assembled late and had spent another night preparing for a barrage of attacks; in fact, they deployed all their flying ships to minimize elf warrior casualties.

These ships were no longer within the elves’ capacity to build; they were constructed during the prosperous era of the Elf Empire by pooling national resources.

Even losing one would make the Royal Fleet heartache, but it was better than sacrificing their own kin.

But... did Mulan really open its gates to welcome them like this?

Sitting at the space station commanding the operation, General Gael hesitated for a long time before ordering the vanguard to advance directly into Mulan.

The abandoned soldiers, clueless about their predicament, searched for their superiors only to find out they had all been deserted.

The Mulans never listened to Prince Andreju in any case.

Without their superiors, they simply surrendered, knowing the elves had a nasty temper but wouldn’t indiscriminately slaughter people.

These low-level professionals would find survival easier in Ferun, as Deepwater City in the North had been recruiting all along! It was just a pity to give up years of stable life.

The biggest problem faced by the elves wasn’t the panic-stricken civilians but rather Prince Andreju, who was completely disregarded, bawling and screaming for mercy and forgiveness from the elves.

Thus, the frontier leaders of Anmur painfully welcomed the huge garbage catapulted by the elves using flying ships.

Normally, this would entail the King of Anmur issuing a diplomatic letter requesting the elves to release the captured royal family members, exchanging expensive gifts to retrieve him.

Anmur held a cabinet meeting last night to discuss the price for saving this foolish prince.

Most people were reluctant to use state funds and hoped the King would tap into his private treasury.

Unexpectedly, the elves sent him back without even asking for money.

They should’ve been glad to save some money, but not a single general or soldier in Anmur found joy in it.

The large garbage, Prince Andreju, was promptly sent to the royal city on a carriage.
