Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 805: Chapter 601: Lynn Waiting at the Port

Hill thought for a moment and still followed the default rules of the Toril World by parking the Magic Ship on the sea twenty miles away from the port.

As the white sailboat slowly sailed into the port, Hill glanced at the Elf vessels docked on both sides, and seeing the elves on the deck looking calm and without urgency, he suspected they intended to stay here until next year.

Then he quickly realized that these elves might be waiting for Baal’s resurrection plan to fail again, so that the death curse across the Ferun Great Land would completely disappear.

Otherwise, even if they occupied new territories, they would still worry about the safety of Elf infants.

Hill didn’t know why Lynn didn’t agree to let these elves live in Agleya City. He remembered giving permission, and the neighboring Green Forest wouldn’t refuse them entry either.

He glanced at Lynn, already standing at the port waiting for him, and chuckled nervously: it seemed there was indeed something up; otherwise, Lynn wouldn’t visit him once every ten days or half a month.

For Lynn, although the job as the Mayor of Agleya indeed brought him a sense of achievement, every time he saw Hill idling, his feelings would become complicated.

So, when he had nothing to do, he would rather sleep at home.

However, Hill actually understood that making such a choice proved how busy Lynn was...

Otherwise, Lynn quite enjoyed having a drink, listening to music, and indulging in various cuisines.

Though the boat was still slowly approaching the port, Hill could no longer sit still.

He took off his hood and floated apologetically from the Magic Ship, landing beside Lynn: ”Lynn, why did you come here?

I went to the Stellar Realm and encountered many things.

This time, I brought you some interesting gifts~”

Hill decided to hand over the items he got from those pirates to Lynn.

While Hill was busy harvesting the Half-plane, the Ship Spirit had already directed the puppets to sort those items out.

Aside from some Strange Objects specifically for the Stellar Realm, the other items were meaningless to Hill.

Those Strange Objects only interested him a bit because of the novel manufacturing techniques.

But these things were somewhat useful to Lynn; after all, they were still worth some money.

Actually, Hill’s salary for Lynn was already the highest level on the Toril Continent, but he always felt it didn’t match Lynn’s true value.

”High energy, high salary” was Hill’s obsession. He once worked hard for a higher salary, apologizing to other colleagues, but for someone like Hill, as long as he gained enough qualifications, he would naturally advance without needing to endure time.

Sadly, even though Hill was willing to offer a higher price, Lynn’s character was too upright. Anything beyond his limit would be directly refused. He was happy about the high salary Hill gave him, but unwilling to accept payment beyond his capability.

Unlike Terry, who would happily accept whatever Hill offered and even hoped for more.

Moreover, Hill truly felt Lynn contributed far more than he received; many tasks should have been Hill’s responsibility. He could ignore everything yet become a city lord, entirely reliant on Lynn’s hard work.

But Lynn didn’t see it that way.

He felt that Hill’s unconditional trust was more valuable, wanting to manage such a large city. He must have strong backing behind him; otherwise, he couldn’t achieve any success.

The Toril World, to be blunt, is not about human competence but rather about whether one has strength.

If one has enough power to suppress their area, even if the city management is chaotic or not managed at all, they can peacefully act as City Lord.

Without strength, like Lynn, even with countless ideas, he could only wait for time to gradually grow, and many might not even have the chance for growth like him.

Therefore, in the past two years, he set countless limits for himself while his mind remained relatively sober.

Lynn worried that after serving as Mayor of Agleya for hundreds or thousands of years, he might become like those nobles on Eternity Island, gradually corrupting in the shadows because he couldn’t achieve the highest position or gain the greatest power.

This resulted in Hill having to consider Lynn’s capacity to accept each gift—some things Hill found casual, but Lynn would be startled.

Yet even with such a close friend, Hill didn’t want to reveal his ability for Alchemical Transmutation.

These pirate specialties were quite fitting.

As an outcome of a cost-free transaction, Lynn would willingly accept it; what he always refused were the great items Hill acquired by paying a price.

Lynn wasn’t planning to discuss specialty items with Hill but crossed his arms and asked: ”I remember you saying you had to hurry and rebuild Purwell’s body in 14 days.

With time so tight, why could you go out and play?

In such little time, what could you accomplish? Any gains? Star Meteoric Iron? I recall you said you had plenty!”

Hill laughed awkwardly, recalling his harvest over the past 12 days, suddenly feeling that it was actually quite plentiful.

”I acquired a half-plane~” Hill pleasantly informed Lynn, as for the two smaller ones, he decided not to mention them for now.

Hill was still very concerned about Lynn’s health.

Hill had no intention of keeping his purpose and reasons for this journey a secret, so Lynn received a detailed explanation from List, but he really didn’t expect that with just the approximate location provided by Oberon, Hill could actually reap rewards!

This level of luck... Is Hill really not the Son of Destiny in Toril this time?

Lynn felt a bit dazed, he even thought that those epic heroes of the past didn’t have this kind of luck as Hill did.

But Hill couldn’t possibly have any connection with Tymora!

Tymora, the Goddess of Luck in Toril, is actually someone that truly wise people generally prefer not to attract the attention of.

Luck and misfortune, a pair of twin goddesses that always come together, are far more troublesome than Suren and Shaer.

Most importantly, the little luck granted by Tymora often attracts great misfortune sent by Benshasha.

Lynn shook his head, deciding to stop thinking about the matter, he was truly overwhelmed by Hill’s luck. In fact, Miliel had long stated that since learning of Hill’s origin, even the Gods in the Stellar Realm somewhat had been able to observe the aura of destiny on this archmage from another world.

The aura of destiny connected to the Toril World from Hill’s body was very scarce, indicating that even though he had done many things in Toril, he had never truly actively intervened in Toril’s predetermined fate.

Lynn remembered Hill’s words, as long as one adheres to the basic principle of equivalent exchange, one can live well in Toril. When he told this phrase to Miliel, it actually earned Hill high praise from the God of Singing.

Lynn turned to look at Hill, wanting to tell him why he had conflicts with the elves.

But before he could speak, Hill quickly interrupted with a light tone: ”Lynn, I rescued some slaves from a slave trader in the Stellar Realm. Some of them are elves.

They should be spies directly under Prince Ramriel, I don’t want to know why they were captured by people related to Mark City, so I didn’t ask anything.

If your problem can be solved after this spy returns, then there’s no need to say anything.”

Lynn paused, contemplating for a few minutes before asking: ”Do you have the answer that spy wants to know?”

”I don’t know, he left a box in my care, you can deliver both him and the box to that prince!” Hill said indifferently, ”My time is tight, don’t want to meddle in too many things.

By dusk, it will be the time for Purwell.”

Lynn couldn’t help but twitch his mouth, if Hill hadn’t achieved anything, he certainly could have criticized Hill for going on a trip in such a short time and making himself this rushed.

But now... he could only look at the row of elves on the white-sailed ship, showing an awkward yet polite smile.

Then, he noticed behind the elves a few half-elves and surprisingly even humans.

Are these humans willing to return from the Stellar Realm? Lynn smiled warmly at them, as he understood Hill’s character, some things he could comprehend without being spoken.

”I rescued some people, but only a few humans were willing to come back with me.” Hill saw his gaze and softly asked, ”Is your outsider’s residence built?

They should have no problem doing things like selling goods.”

Lynn, staring at the row of people walking to the port, said without turning his head: ”You don’t need to handle this, don’t let them feel your concern. By the way, what about my gift?”

Hill pointed at the floating Ship Spirit on the Magic Ship: ”On the ship, go find Ladinro to get it. I took down a small Githyanki team, and the spoils of war are yours to play with.

Unfortunately, I went too hard this time, and the silver swords were melted.

Otherwise, I really want to try if the Githyanki would come from the Stellar Realm to hunt me down for a silver sword.”

Lynn couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Hill: ”Spare me! Lord of Agleya! Is this something that can be solved with just a fight? I’m already very busy!”

He felt like something had been lifted from his shoulders, happily moving forward, Ladinro the Ship Spirit was already prepared and waiting to go with him carrying several large boxes.

The leading one was the pink jewelry box of the Half-Succubus, which Hill had already taken out from his ring, with those few letters also lying silently inside.

Within the scope of Agleya City, Hill didn’t believe any Evil God dared to arrogantly peek at them.

Coron is not just for show, ever since the news spread that he stayed here without leaving, Hill’s commercial street could hardly see purely human figures anymore.

Logically, though chaotic, Coron belonged to the Kind Alignment, and these well-informed human merchants shouldn’t fear him.

However, the merchants of The North made this choice nonetheless.

It only shows that, in fact, everyone has been observing the matters of the past few years, fearing that Coron might lose patience and vent his wrath on them.
