Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 820: Chapter 616: Oberon’s Family Found

The beautiful female elf happily waved at Hill: ”I’m Lynn’s mom, Danni Liz, just call me Lis. Come to my house and play, Hill.”

A male half-elf stood behind her, his hand clenched into a fist, pressed lightly against his mouth, coughed twice: ”Lis... Could we handle business first? The Captain of the Guard is watching you.”

A large hand appeared above Lis’s head, swiftly grasped her collar and tossed her to the side. It belonged to a male Gold Elf clad in a sky-blue robe made of sheer fabric. A faint smile adorned his handsome face. Under the sheer robe, he wore silver-blue elven chainmail, with a slender chain on his forehead, and a crescent moon pendant made of mithril gleaming between his brows.

Hill glanced at the silver crescent moon embroidery at the edge of the robe, recognizing it as the emblem of Coron’s exclusive priest: Guardian of the Elves, though most who knew them preferred to call them Elf Guards.

Though it’s claimed all elven-kind creatures receive their protection, clearly, they focus more on elves themselves.

However, Oberon’s little fairy family being taken in and cared for is rather normal. Should any little fairy seek them out, the Guardians of Elven-kind would never refuse.

The Captain of the Guard smiled amicably at him: ”Welcome to the Star Mountain Range, Mr. Hill.

Coron told us you are his descendant from other worlds. Then the Star Mountain Range is your homeland.

Please feel free here as you would at home; the Star Mountain Range only has Coron’s priests and followers.

I am Dragos, the Captain of the Guard of Aevraestar’s Sword of the Elf Guard Legion.”

Hill respectfully nodded to this demigod priest: ”It is my honor to come to the Star Mountain Range where the Guardian resides, just call me Hill.”

The Guardians of the Elven-kind have been scarce since elves retreated to Eternity Island. Coron’s dissatisfaction with Toril Elves is quite apparent. From the time of the elves’ Crown War, there have been no new exclusive priests.

So this demigod is over 5000 years old.

No wonder here at the Star Mountain Range, demons always choose to harass rather than launch an all-out attack. Such level of Elf Guards, raising a hand for one Sun Ray Spell, can send a squad of Great Demons back home.

But he also cannot leave the Star Mountain Range to fight; the unstable space of the Supreme Forest confines him to be just a Guardian.

As Coron’s exclusive priest, Dragos surely knows what his own leader is up to lately, and he should be quite aware of the undead tribe’s situation. Back then, the Green Leaf Elves mentioned friends in the Supreme Forest, likely referring to him and his subordinates.

Therefore, this High Priest is most concerned about the battle situation at Hell’s Gate, his brow furrowed, worried about demons once again breaching the Temple Army’s defense.

Should that happen, there might be no saving the Supreme Forest.

Hill said lightly, smiling: ”The undead tribe loves fighting demons. After discovering so many demons there, they’ve already signaled to rally companions.

A hundred thousand professionals over level 17 might not suppress the demons’ speed coming out of Hell’s Gate, but there are possibly tens of millions coming afterward.

Unless a Demon Lord tears through space and directly sends billions of demons, but as far as I remember, their forces here are meant for the Blood War, right?”

Dragos laughed joyfully: ”That’s not possible. Losing the war here in Toril at most means teasing those few lords by other Great Demons because being dissatisfied about losing the Blood War, even if Six Fingers is backing them, they’d meet misfortune.”

Hill nodded knowingly; so it was Grazt who instigated this Hell’s Gate, understandable for him to weigh gains and losses like this, no wonder these demons seem less crazy.

Normally, a Great Demon in pursuit of an enemy would never turn back unless beaten half to death.

Surprisingly, those flying demons following Purwell knew not to fly out of the forest, their rationality surprised Hill.

Looking at Dragos who seemed like a living fossil, Hill asked the question he most wanted to know: ”Is it that until the effect from Carlthas’s corpse dissipates, this Hell’s Gate cannot be closed?”

Dragos nodded calmly: ”That’s something even deities cannot do; the chaotic spatial barriers of the Supreme Forest are also related to him.

No need to worry, as long as the Star Mountain Range exists, the Supreme Forest hasn’t completely perished. Besides, there are treants! Elder Tulong continues to guard the forest at the Ancestral Garden.”

Hill said nothing more; treants were supposed to be the elves’ best partners, but those in the Supreme Forest can no longer ally with elves.

Maybe those treants might have okay relations with Aevraestar’s Sword led by Dragos, but those who caused disaster then fled to Eternity Island, if seen, Elder Tulong would likely strike them down with swinging branches.

It’s known that Hell’s Gate originated from a mage named Ulugris summoning devils during the elves’ strife for power.

After that country where Hell’s Gate resided collapsed from their own folly, those demon-contaminated demonized elves ultimately seized the nation’s ruins, summoning demons there at last.

Since then, the Supreme Forest has fallen into complete collapse.

While the treants bravely resisted and fought hard, the elves escaped through portals.

If it weren’t for the Aevraestar’s Sword remaining in the Star Mountain Range, Hill guessed Coron would have no face to appear in the temple of the Supreme Forest again.

Elves like Dragos, who are relatively traditional, act simply and decisively. After asking Hill some information about Agleya City and the Undead Tribe, he waved his hand to let Lis, who had been restless on the periphery, come over.

”Hill, I have to communicate with Tulong and the others about the coming of the Undead Tribe,” said Dragos, turning to Hill. ”There are too many Undead, so we must inform the treants in advance.

Otherwise, if they suddenly see so many elves, they might think it’s the group from Eternity Island returning and could start a fight.

I need to explain it clearly to them first. Treants are very stubborn, and once they get stuck on something, it’s extremely difficult to clear up the misunderstanding.”

Hill nodded: Elder Tulong must be at least level 40, not to mention the Alaho Treant in the Ancestral Garden, which has stood there since the first generation of elves.

If a fight were to break out, the result for the Undead Tribe would be total annihilation.

For centuries, while demons from Hell’s Gate have occasionally caused trouble in the Star Mountain Range, they’ve never ventured near the Treant Ancestral Court.

Oberon and Vila, who had been squabbling, immediately stopped upon hearing this conclusion. Oberon glanced at Vila, and the Little Flower Fairy leader pouted and flew onto Hill’s hair, ”Big Elf~ Do you have a Forest Sylph family here?”

Dragos looked at the Little Flower Fairy, and then at the male Fairy Spirit who was clinging onto Hill’s robe, only showing his face.

The overly beautiful small face made Dragos realize: ”Oberon?”

”Yes, I’m here with my dad to find my dad’s family!” Vila tied a few strands of Hill’s long hair into a small chair and sat proudly on it, ”They told me back then that my dad came to find Aevraestar... what was it?”

Dragos shook his head with a smile, and the hopeful gaze in Oberon’s eyes instantly dimmed.

”They’re at the Lost Peak, with other fairies.” Before Dragos finished speaking, Oberon suddenly raised his little head.

”The area is protected by the Ancestor Tree, making it relatively safe, and demons don’t go there,” Dragos explained. ”However, humans and elves can’t go there at will, as it would anger the treants.”

Oberon hesitantly glanced at Hill. Although most demons were fighting at Hell’s Gate, many demonized elves and animals still remained in the Supreme Forest, and his bit of Holy Power was practically a large lure.

”Let Purwell take you there,” Hill bent down to speak to him, ”Then stop mid-air, and you and Vila can fly down yourselves?”

Oberon immediately nodded vigorously, then softly asked, ”If they are willing to follow me, can we all live inside Purwell?”

Hill laughed and nodded, handing him a small whistle, ”Only Purwell can hear this whistle. Call him when you’re ready.”

He had already considered such a situation. Little fairies might not welcome an adult like Hill in their home, but the Supreme Forest was too dangerous not to have a backup plan.

With Purwell’s speed, he could reach anywhere within 100 kilometers quickly, and this whistle was a product of Hill’s research on the soundwave language of the Otherworldly Whale, producing only the meaning of ’come quickly’ when blown. However, even from 500 kilometers away, Purwell could hear it.

This was a peculiar soundwave that, when used by Purwell and his kind, allowed them to hear each other’s call for help even across thousands of kilometers.

Curious, Oberon blew it, and soon Purwell, who had been roaming the clouds, descended. Vila quickly shouted ’I want it too!’ and rushed to her father.

Oberon without hesitation tucked the whistle into his waist pouch, ”Vila, no! You can even lose yourself!”

The father and daughter ignored the circle of elves watching them and pulled each other, flying up to the hovering Purwell.

”Aren’t you going with them?” Lis stood next to Hill and asked, ”That’s a nest of little fairies!”

”My Magic Tower inside Purwell will take care of it,” Hill replied with a smile.

Without List, he would be crazy to let a bunch of little fairies direct Purwell around.

Lis nodded and dragged him along, ”Come, let’s visit my place! I’ll show you pictures of Lynn’s childhood! His dad painted them for him; they’re adorable!”

Hill couldn’t help but feel a bit dazed, thinking Lynn might not be too thrilled about his mother entertaining friends this way.
