Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 808: Chapter 604: The Helplessly Relocating Eternity Island Fleet

After three busy days, List finally had time to clarify things for Hill.

The whole affair was more or less as Hill had imagined.

For the elves who were about to embark on a founding war, the former Elf Crusade, now the Agleya City Guards, although a bit stubborn, were indeed among the strongest of the young elves.

Or rather, these elves had all their talent points allocated to martial skills, so even those of noble birth couldn’t stay on the Eternity Island, rife with intrigue.

Previously, the Eternity Island certainly didn’t need those troublemakers always thinking of reclaiming the continent, but wasn’t now the time to follow the prince in establishing a nation?

Not only were their descendants keen to leave, but they also tried to coax away even the noble offspring who hadn’t come from the Eternity Island.

However, Lynn initially didn’t react much to this; he was well aware of how much Agleya City actually needed the Elven City Guards.

Moreover, upon learning that the elves from Eternity Island might come, Hill, to ease his mind, even showed him the number of puppets and golems stored in the warehouse. Even if the entire Undead Tribe weren’t around, Agleya City would have enough defensive capability.

So Lynn let the Elf Crusade decide for themselves; Agleya City didn’t press them.

But given the stubborn nature of the Elf Crusade, and their inherent arrogance, how could they easily break their oath?

Let alone how important the Moonflower Royalty was, if elves truly respected royalty, the Moonflower Family wouldn’t end up like this.

Except for those born from the Moon Elves, elves of other races respected that Queen of Sorrow, yet not the entire royalty.

That is to say, although Prince Ramriel was acknowledged by General Gael and those nobles, these elves who had left Eternity Island for several years had not yet accepted following him.

The elves were also quite imposing; a conflict erupted at the port.

Fortunately, the prince and General Gael had been invited to the Alchemy Hall to see a messenger of Coron at that time.

Indeed, Coron himself didn’t meet them but sent the message through the Seraph leader. However, for the elves, this was something not encountered in hundreds of years.

At that time, Lynn was already considering whether to allocate a place in Agleya City for the elves to settle. From their behavior, he could tell the elves probably needed to stay for a while, as they seemed to be waiting for some kind of opportunity.

Agleya City is actually quite large. Apart from the residential areas and the university town, most of the space is empty. Just like the high-level residential area where he lived, unless he called people for work, there was nothing to hear besides the wind. Lynn would rather live in the City Hall as it isn’t far.

Lynn could be sure that Teraxil should be a region with vast territory and rich resources, at least all kinds of resources were abundant.

Ferun Great Land wouldn’t just build a city covering an area larger than Silvermoon City without necessity, and the streets are laid out spaciously and brightly. A place like the winding roads of Deepwater City couldn’t even compare.

If it weren’t for Hill’s requirements on the factions entering the city, Lynn would suspect that even though some magic ships entered through the portal from Deepwater City, they would choose to come to Agleya City for trading.

Everyone likes safe and comfortable places.

Then he received the news of the conflict at the port, and Lynn hurried to mediate. Right in front of him was the Temple District! More importantly, Hill’s whale was still resting there! What if they bothered Hill’s matters? He couldn’t let it affect Hill’s business.

When he arrived at the port, he found that those nobles and high-level generals intended to forcibly demand their families’ children to serve the prince.

They praised the prince as brilliant and capable, almost calling him the savior of the elves.

At that time, Lynn was visibly displeased.

He wasn’t particularly fond of the royalty or, more specifically, Prince Ramriel.

Back then, since he was of the Sun Elves’ descent, Eternity Island had deliberately or unintentionally bypassed him during the expulsion of half-elves.

Ramriel was especially disagreeable at that time.

His sister, a dignified princess, was banished for having half-elf children, yet Lynn, a child of an ordinary noble family, lived well.

So he naturally didn’t act very friendly.

The Moonflower Family has a naturally kind disposition; Ramriel could not do anything to an innocent child, but by then, he was already an unseen crown prince, so his unpleasantries, to a certain extent, exacerbated Lynn’s uncomfortable living situation.

Lynn knew that Hill might not know why he disliked the Eternity Island Royalty, but Hill was always sensitive and perceptive. From some of his attitudes, he had already sensed it. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have entrusted the decision of the elves’ residency rights to Lynn.

So Lynn also hoped not to betray Hill’s trust, planning to put aside past grudges and handle these elves impartially and professionally.

But that didn’t mean that the elves from Eternity Island could arrogantly give orders in Agleya City!

Before he said anything, someone among those elves outright asked the guards if they forgot how they used to bully Lynn. What was so commendable about working under a filthy half-elf?

Lynn was furious at that time.

If it wasn’t for the Galle brothers perched on the port tower directly throwing a big stone to shatter that guy’s head, Lynn would have used the Puzzle Lock permission given by Hill to send him straight back to the sea.

The elves who discovered that Lynn had arrived were a bit embarrassed, but their long-standing disdain for half-elves made these old folks not even think of apologizing to Lynn.

They just sent the guy who was lying on the ground wailing back to the ship immediately.

Lynn made up his mind then, not to mention giving them a place to settle, he wouldn’t even allow these elves to enter Agleya City. Including the commercial street, where he locked the access to high-level stores, especially the Strange Objects Shop.

Lynn even instructed List not to put particularly exquisite and precious strange objects on display while these elves were around, otherwise, the elves could hire humans to buy them.

Hill blinked, sounded good! But by the time he returned, those elves couldn’t even step onto the port.

”Mr. Lynn left them some face, but there’s always some fool who doesn’t even want that much.

The Guard Corps refused to listen, and they wouldn’t come out after returning to the barracks.

So those people got anxious,” List said. ”Afterwards, when they found out they didn’t have the access to enter Agleya City, they went to General Gael’s family.

They even accused them of being disloyal to the Prince.”

Lynn’s uncles, huh?

Hill thought about how Gael’s cousins behaved and didn’t think Lynn’s uncles would trouble their nephew for those people.

”How could those Gael captains possibly care about such matters? The Royal Fleet, after all, is in a cooperative relationship with Prince Ramriel, not subordinate.

The Moon Elves... really, apart from their loyalty to the Royal Family, there’s nothing commendable.

Otherwise, the Moonflower Royalty wouldn’t be so unlucky.

But since the supply distribution is under the nobles’ control, it seems the Gael captains got lightly tampered with,” List gave a wry smile. ”Honestly, we didn’t expect anyone to be so foolish.

Thankfully, there’s no one in the Gael family who tolerates such things, they simply overturned the table and beat up the elf nobility in charge of distributing supplies. Mr. Lynn had actually been monitoring the port with a Puzzle Lock those two days and knew it immediately.

Then he hired the Undead Tribe to send a large batch of supplies to his uncles and directly used the Puzzle Lock to seal the various permissions of the port.”

Hill nodded, this was the part where Lynn felt remorse, but he was entirely in the right about those previous matters.

Did those fools forget that he, Hill, was also a half-elf when they were badmouthing Lynn?

Prince Ramriel... really quite unfortunate, to have someone holding him back at this time.

”Did Prince Ramriel say anything after he returned?” Hill curiously asked.

”After he heard that, he never sought out Mr. Lynn again,” List answered. ”This prince understood very well that although the words seemed directed at Mr. Lynn, they directly offended you, sir.

So later, when the matter of distributing supplies happened and the elves were directly refused entry to the shore, he could only consider whether to station in the forest clearing up front.

However, he had already apologized to General Gael and directly removed those elves from their positions.”

Hill nodded: ”Anyway, Lynn wouldn’t stop him from getting ashore.”

List laughed: ”Mr. Lynn is still too kind.

He moved the Royal Fleet to another side of the port, and the prince resides on General Gael’s invincible ship.

Then he granted permissions for landing on that side, but except for the Prince and General Gael, no other elves could go to Agleya City.

The elves of the Royal Fleet are not short of money and don’t need the supplies from the other side. The food on the commercial street is even tastier!”

So it seems this prince might be leaving soon.

Although the elves of the Royal Fleet are more reliable, his true subjects are still with the nobles’ fleet, and according to the Moonflower Royalty’s tradition, they would never enjoy themselves while their subjects suffer.

”Since Lynn doesn’t want to talk about it, let the elves handle their own matters!” Hill advised List with a smile, ”You see, Coron is quite aware of what’s happening but doesn’t intend to intervene.

Honestly, I couldn’t imagine that even knowing Coron is still around, those elves would still do such foolish things.

Do they really think calling out ’Father of Elves’ makes him their actual father?”

List really couldn’t understand either, probably those with a normal mindset can never comprehend the thoughts of the Chaotic Faction, because they have no thoughts.

Hill wasn’t wrong; despite being very reluctant to leave Agleya City where Coron resides, Prince Ramriel still led his subjects to relocate to the area in front of Agleya City, a bit more north of Baal’s ruins.

That area actually already belongs to the range of Neverwinter Forest.

Wonder how Neverwinter City feels at the moment, knowing their mountaintop castle used to be an elf’s northern outpost.
