Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 807: Chapter 603: The Little Trouble Brought by the Little Fairy

Hill couldn’t help but laugh; Purwell was clearly someone who often dealt with magic ships in the stellar realm. His words were like those from a fantasy novel about the stellar realm, likely something he had read.

Stellar realm novels are actually akin to the captain novels popular here on the coast, encapsulating most captains’ inner desires: how wonderful it would be if their ship could one day develop a soul, preferably a beautiful maiden.

This is a desire unique to the fantasy world, where ships indeed can come to life after existing for a long time.

After greeting Hill, Purwell couldn’t resist forming a water mirror to observe his current form.

Though an isolation array outside blocked most people’s sight, many actually knew an otherworldly whale was hidden here.

Hill regarded Purwell and issued the first command: ”Let’s head to the sky above the Floating Castle! There’s still much work to be done!”

Purwell nodded happily; he had long wanted to fly again.

Then he crashed straight back to his central hub, leaving Hill astonished.

Only then did Hill realize Purwell still didn’t quite understand how to be a competent Tower Spirit.

He chuckled helplessly and took the opportunity to cover the two eye hole-like openings with double-layered Crystal Flower windows.

The magic gate of the whale ship hadn’t been installed yet, and Hill, who was standing at the front, felt a gust of wind rushing in. Purwell’s speed was really fast.

Although Hill was satisfied with the speed of the ship, he reminded himself to pay attention to the wind filtering of the magic gate; otherwise, if the wind could only rush in without an exit, this place would turn into a wind tunnel.

Purwell finally stopped beside the terrace of Hill’s study.

Walking to the entrance, Hill quickly understood his wise choice; since Li Si discovered the ship, he hovered over the castle directing operations.

Hill happily handed the clueless Purwell over to Li Si.

While other things could be unknown, at the very least Purwell needed to learn the Tower Spirit’s essential multitasking ability; otherwise, it would be too wasteful.

Hill then called Marsha over to get involved in this teaching session.

Purwell could appear anywhere within a hundred meters around his body, so the three of them could just discuss in the study.

Hill picked up a box containing a half-plane and walked into the whale ship.

He pondered for quite some time; most of the interior space of Purwell, Hill planned to transform into a magic tower to entertain guests from outside. He had a magic tower made from the shell of a demigod’s conch and many mushroom houses.

Though once utilized here, they could no longer function as mobile units, Hill figured he wouldn’t need such complexities in the future.

Purwell would follow him everywhere.

As for the half-plane, no matter how large the space, Hill didn’t particularly like using his permanent dwelling to host strangers.

More precisely, Hill did not wish to have to hide things on his own turf.

Hill eventually hung the half-plane at the back of the magic tower; if Purwell were to enter the half-plane, it must be bound within his body.

Moreover, the life force emitted during the formation of the half-plane could entirely animate Purwell’s metal body, allowing him to truly come alive, rather than relying on magical power.

Once a life circuit was formed again, Purwell could move freely without depending on energy baryte.

Hill’s half-plane was originally life-force-centric; he believed there was a substantial chance of success.

He clapped his hands and stepped outside, now it’s time to have the Tower Spirits tidy up the outside magic tower and its surroundings.

As for the half-plane, now is not the time to do anything extra.

Hill had indeed completed most of the basic work, but it still required time to slowly take shape. He even noticed that the mountains in the center of the continent were gradually rising.

Let the Force of Nature slowly alter the terrain! The choices he made were the most suitable; now that he had them, Hill wasn’t in a hurry.

He had already invested a large number of elemental crystals to accelerate the formation of the ocean and land within the half-plane, but no matter how fast, it would still take three years.

If it weren’t for him having a bit of money, the completion of a half-plane generally took a mage at least 50 years.

If it were one of those large-scale half-planes he had awaited for long, it wouldn’t be possible to move into it in less than 200 years.

Even Hill would go bankrupt trying to accelerate it.

Hill glanced at the ground of the whale ship and blinked; he needed to add a layer of facade inside, otherwise, puppets coming in would fall all over the exposed bones.

He didn’t feel it much because he had always been hovering.

This was easy enough; Hill directly used powder from non-elemental crystal stones and dust from earth crystals to form a semi-transparent milky-white inner wall.

It looked quite nice; Hill smiled to himself, although he wasn’t good at other color schemes, white walls would never go wrong.

Therefore, Hill walked out of the whale ship, only to look with a touch of sadness at Purwell who was already playing with the Little Flower Fairies.

Feeling Hill’s gaze, this whale suddenly awakened and returned to Li Si and Marsha’s helpless side.

Hill first instructed List: ”I put the Helicopter Tower at Purwell’s place, it’s all empty inside, you should handle the decorations. List.”

Then he turned to Marsha: ”If Marsha has the time, also help out a bit, tidy up the living room and bedroom, and check if the facilities in those Mushroom Houses are still intact.”

”What about us?” Vila quickly flew up to Hill, ”Hill, if you’re leaving, I must follow! There won’t be any place in there where I can’t plant flowers or grass, right?”

Hill sighed: ”First let’s have List tidy up the ground, there’s no Earth in there yet! The garden in the Magic Tower hasn’t been opened; it has to wait until the decorations are complete.

Then you’ll enter to plant flowers and find a suitable place to live.

The Magic Tower and outside are both options, you can discuss it with Lily of the Valley and Jasmine.”

Vila really liked Lily of the Valley and Windmill Jasmine and switched her residence every few days; lately, she was considering weaving a petal house for herself, and both Lily of the Valley and Windmill Jasmine agreed to provide her with their petals.

Hill thought they might be annoyed, Vila was always calling her friends, even noisier than all the bells of Lily of the Valley combined.

Hill did not plan to directly tell Vila about the Half-plane.

Vila of course had no problems, even Oberon had nothing to worry about, as this deity generally didn’t like to meddle.

But among the group of Little Flower Fairies Vila had with her, a few behaved rather strangely, although according to them, they had hidden it very well.

Even Lynn, who barely interacted with them, had warned Hill that some Little Fairies were not quite right.

Especially one silver Little Flower Fairy who had once stayed with Vila in the Ice Mountain.

Sometimes Hill could see golden glimmers in her eyes... very much like that cup.

Although there was an illusionary mask covering those eyes, Vila and even Oberon felt nothing when they saw her, but to Hill, the illusion was of no use at all.

Otherwise, back in Icewind Valley, he would have had Vila and the others hide in the pendant rather than the hood.

There are some things Hill must pretend to be ignorant about.

If Amanata’s resurrection was a certain event, Hill would definitely not want to be involved.

Even though he tricked Lansendel away, the chance of Lansendel safely overcoming that troublesome matter was only half.

Hill’s expectation for this Lord of Dawn was merely to avoid the kind of spectacle that would make Hell’s Abyss break into wild laughter.

If that happened, Hill truly wouldn’t know if he’d have the courage to admit Lansendel was his friend.

But for now, the Lord of Dawn is still his friend.

Lansendel was actually very proud; he treated Hill as a friend, so he offered his tail feather as a trading piece, which is the embodiment of a deity, and anyone mentioning the word ’exchange’ would be committing blasphemy, struck by lightning with no one feeling sympathy.

Like he said himself, many Goddesses covet the feathers of his Sun Peacock, but Hill had never heard of the Mother Earth Shantia possessing them.

So Hill completely stopped believing in the rumors about Lansendel’s romance with this Mother Earth.

Or perhaps, their association began only when Lansendel started searching for traces of the Sun God upon the earth.

The hidden relic was likely told to him by Shantia, who probably just wanted a handsome lover, not caring what trouble he might cause.

As for the other problematic Little Fairies, they all came later from the Shady Home.

Not to mention the very combative Queen herself, even those consorts who occupied the divinity of the Queen’s Child in Vila, might send someone to monitor Vila.

After Oberon arrived, Hill was truly amazed.

Among his Fairy Spirit subordinates, a full tenth had issues.

The Joyous Court... truly refreshed Hill’s understanding of these Little Fairies time and again.

The conspirators of the Joyous Court, the means they used to control these Little Fairies, Hill didn’t understand, but he didn’t care in the slightest.

When he leaves Toril, these means will all be useless.

The powers of the Little Fairies aren’t enough to cross the Crystal Wall.

And most of these Little Fairies will likely choose to stay in the Floating Castle.

Vila and Oberon, while they trust their followers very much, when such things happen, they can’t possibly not understand what’s really going on.

They’re naive, but not foolish.

Hill is just uncertain if Oberon will decide to follow him; he has two children who are official Little Fairies, those two definitely can’t leave, unlike the unlucky father and sister.

Oberon’s divinity is all empty; though he claims to be the Lord of Beasts, he can’t practically manage anything.

Vila, more so, Hill is never worried that she might become unable to leave.

But before leaving, it’s best that these Little Fairies only know about the Magic Tower.
