Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 817: Chapter 613: The Righteous Knights Corps Beyond Defense

Purwell lazily flew back above the battlefield, but the demons had no intention of paying attention to him anymore.

They had already been incited to ferocity by the Undead and were fiercely engaged in battle with them.

The Righteous Knights charging behind the Undead had to retreat behind the defense wall to rest after a few rounds, staring blankly at those knights sitting on their horses guzzling potions.

Their eyes were filled with envy; the Undead could rely on drinking potions to persist in the fight!

The Just Knights touched the small pouch at their waists, the few rows of Holy Water and Mana Potions inside always the envy of many Temple Knights, even though they were only usable when demons attacked the defense walls, the envy was still there.

Yet the Undead could use a Mana Potion even when fighting minor minions.

The Holy Knights, preserving their strength and ready to charge again at any moment, completely failed to notice those ill-intentioned people huddled in small groups beside the priest.

With their character and way of dealing with matters, how could they have expected anyone to want to create chaos and drag their feet during such a dangerous major demon invasion?

Besides, there’s still an army of one hundred thousand below!

Even if lacking in morals, surely there would be some sense, right?

If anything were to happen, the Undead army below could temporarily reconcile with the demons, eliminating them first before dealing with anything else.

Unfortunately, some people always think they’re unrivaled in intelligence, not at all understanding the attributes of these Otherworldly Elves, somehow lured by past experiences and common sense.

Even Oberon, idly observing from above the clouds, noticed their illicit intentions: ”Hill, someone wants to deceive your Female Priest of Teraxil.”

Hill glanced casually: ”The Undead have their own malicious alarm.”

Oberon blinked: ”Then why are they still fooled by the Pixie?”

”Hmm...” Hill organized his words, ”They know what’s happening and can find a way out anytime, but they enjoy playing this spontaneous maze game.”

Oberon tilted his head, thinking for a while before speaking: ”No wonder Coron gave them the appearance of Elves, although not his offspring, their temperament is quite similar to Elves.”

Then he added, ”I’m talking about that first group of Elves, they’re more lively and adorable.”

Hill nodded with a smile.

It seems that Oberon’s Fairy Spirits are related to those in ancient Elf legends who built the Shrine of Coron with the First Generation Elves.

Recalling those Fairy Spirits who had entered Coron’s Divine Kingdom to forever accompany their Elf friends, Hill remembered their role in driving deer to transport goods.

No wonder Oberon’s tribespeople who left the Fairy Court earned the Elves’ acceptance so easily, allowing them to stay in the sacred lands of the Supreme Forest.

During the reign of the Queen, the Elves were in such an internal strife that they were about to collapse; it was impossible to arbitrarily accept allegiance from a non-combat Little Fairy race.

Hill could hear another thing from Oberon’s words: even though they kept claiming the Undead were Elves from Teraxil, all Gods could see those were just Elf shells.

Moreover, Gods who had been to Felunryel could easily guess where the Soul Projection inside these Elves came from, no need to find sources.

No wonder no God showed vigilance against the Undead, not even the chaotic ones who only came to observe their state.

Whatever Coron intended to do, at least these Undead were not his followers, so his Divine Power could not suddenly surge; neither his allies nor enemies would worry.

The Deities of Toril didn’t care how many Otherworld visitors came; they only cared if these visitors would increase the Elf Deity System’s power, which might turn the whole Toril into an Elf realm again.

Everything else, including Demonic invasions, was just temporary gains and losses.

For Deities, who possess endless time, as long as their Divine Power does not weaken or cause their downfall, whatever happens to the Main World, however many people die, is irrelevant to them.

Many Deities are acting so actively now simply to avoid being stripped of their Divine Power by AO due to indifference, turning them into Saintly Forms, struggling painfully for survival in Toril.

Whether Mystra and Valkin deserved their outcomes or not, the mere thought sent shivers down the spines of all the Gods.

Hill spent half a day sitting idly in the sky, and the Abyss finally decided not to dispatch stronger demons, although Little Demons continuously poured out, their levels never exceeded Level 24.

It was just upon noticing more resistance outside the Hell’s Gate that the demons poured out faster.

Clearly, they intended to win by numbers.

And the Clerics on the ground, even knowing there was a powerful Mage in the sky, never opened their mouths to ask for his help.

It seemed the space here was extremely unstable, leaving the defenders with no desire to even try.

Hill exhaled lightly; fortunately, the Demon Gate in Teraxil was very small. Though it couldn’t be closed, the space was stable, and the other side couldn’t enlarge it.

Moreover, the volcanic crater outside has been remodeled several times by the God of Time and Space, making it nearly a separate space where any number of demons can be vanquished.

The level of those demons is not even as high as the little demons emerging below, and they are left for new members of the Undead Tribe to practice on.

Most importantly, it is the deities themselves who guard the Demon Gate, not the Paladins and Priests, and they don’t need the prayers and pleas of believers.

Whether this will change in the future or not, at least currently, when faced with a common enemy, the human deities remain quite united.

’Tsk!’ Hill suddenly clicked his tongue, and Oberon glanced at him curiously.

Hill took a breath, covered his forehead, and laughed, ”The Undead Tribe has sent two families this time, each with fifty thousand members. Among the priests sitting behind the city walls chatting, one is the clan leader’s wife.”

”Is Hill worried she’s being deceived?” Oberon asked, ”Should we go down?”

”Do you know?” Hill dodged the question and said, ”That lady manages all the logistics for the Black Rose Family.”

”Fifty thousand warriors... that family must have hundreds of thousands of people, right?” Oberon, who also manages a lot of subordinates, nodded understandingly, ”These guys have really hit a wall!”

”It must be... a Mithril Plate!” Hill had a deep impression of that seemingly gentle ’Xiao Liuliu.’ At least many in the Black Rose respectfully called her ’Sister Liu,’ which was a respect even Baldy couldn’t obtain.

She rarely stood in the forefront, but the respect shown by ’Cunlü’ and the ’Old Age Striking King’ towards her meant a lot.

Oberon said nothing more, merely moving to the edge of the Crystal Wall, watching intently the intrigue below.

It’s clear, there was going to be fun.

For a Little Fairy, no matter how much they have on their mind, they can’t miss the excitement.

Before the fun began at the back, the battle of the Undead Tribe caused a small commotion.

The Young Master charged abruptly with the Wenjian Knights, enveloped in a rose-colored glow.

The rose-pink wooden plate that appeared behind them threw the Temple Army behind the defensive walls into chaos.

Cries of ’Demon King Lansendel’ echoed one after another.

The priests and followers of Lansendel are a synonym for trouble. When they appear in thousands, they are enough to scare many people.

Hill even saw some priests kneeling immediately, holding their holy emblems in prayer, hoping for their god to tell them what to do.

Oberon’s attention was also drawn to the Light of Dawn: ”Ah! Lansendel’s radiance is always so delightful. If only he would accept Little Fairies. Most Fairy Spirits revere him greatly.”

The followers Lansendel himself doomed filled his Divine Kingdom. Hill couldn’t help but wonder, can the Little Fairies spare any lives?

But he understood Oberon’s thinking. Before Hill appeared, if any deity was unafraid of the Fairy Queen’s wrath and accepted Oberon’s loyalty, it could only be Lansendel.

Moreover, unlike the more orderly Hill, the Guardian God of spring and eternal youth, Lansendel, would certainly have a lot in common with the Little Fairies.

Unfortunately, Lansendel never noticed these Little Fairies; he already had enough trouble of his own making.

The assault by the Wenjian Knights was obviously much stronger than the others, and the enhancement against evil brought by the Light of Dawn was very significant.

”Even the demons want to dodge!” Oberon said softly, watching intently in that direction.

Hill understood what he meant. Although it seemed there were countless demons charging towards the arrogant Wenjian Knights, many Great Demons turned to find the Black Rose instead.

The ones over here carry the Power of Tyr, old acquaintances, they can be fought.

Those on the other side, let the mindless ones approach; without intellect, there is no fear.

Anyone who draws Lansendel’s attention back to the Abyss would likely have their soul torn apart and turned into worms by the Bottomless Abyss.

Lansendel had done so many horrifying deeds, yet not a single Demon Lord or Demon Lord attempted to tempt him into corruption, indicating the fear these two evil realms had of him.

Even in the barren Abyss and the torturous Hell, nobody wants to destroy their own home.

Hill’s sharp ears caught someone questioning the Righteous Knights furiously, asking why they brought Dawn Believers over, suggesting they wanted the entire Hell’s Gate to collapse entirely?

They surrounded the Righteous Knights, chattering incessantly about the unreliability of Lansendel’s followers.

But the underlying meaning was clear to all: Has Tyr gone mad? Has he reconciled and allied with Lansendel? If so, other temples must consider whether they should continue guarding here.

Presumably, it was the Iron Fist floating behind the Black Rose that made these people doubt Tyr.

The Righteous Knights were at a loss for words. They were better at actions than debates. Some knights already had their hands on their longswords, barely holding back, feeling this was a slander against Tyr!
