Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 814: Chapter 610: The Crisis of Hell’s Gate

At first, Hill wanted to go directly to another continent, but Oberon, knowing that the Undead Tribe might pass through the Supreme Forest, came to find him, hoping to take a look at the forest.

Facing Hill’s confusion, the Lord of Beasts, whose expression always carried a hint of sadness, chuckled bitterly and said, ”Hill, when I was with Titania initially, she didn’t show such a desire to become the Fairy Queen, and she always insisted she hadn’t completely stepped down just to help her sister.

I think you know who that is.

She acted too perfectly; otherwise, no matter how charming she was, I wouldn’t have led my family to follow her down that fatal path. Even though we Fairy Spirits possess great power, we are unwilling to get caught up in such a terrifying struggle.

They fought to the death for supreme power, so why should we follow them to our deaths? Just know that if the Joyous Court loses, it means losing lives.

It wasn’t until the Queen of the Court of Sorrow and Rage was tempted to fall by that dark Black Gemstone, did she step forward in the name of revenge.

By then, even if I suspected I’d been deceived, what could I do? I could only grit my teeth and persist. Dying because of my blindness would be bearable, but I had children! My family was implicated by me too.

But her luck was bad; she went through all kinds of schemes and used everyone she could, only to officially become Queen when Toril Continent was invaded by demons, and even the Supreme Forest couldn’t be protected.

The powerful elves could only flee from their homes, and the little fairies couldn’t hold on any longer.

My family, originally very powerful, wasn’t brought along when Shady Home escaped the Toril Continent.”

Seeing Hill’s shocked eyes. Oberon chuckled bitterly and said, ”I was deceived by those around me. At that time, I was desperate to find Vila and could only instruct my subordinates who had followed me for thousands of years to inform the family located in the Supreme Forest.

I married Titania. Even if I was deceived, there’s nothing more to say.

My family simply couldn’t break free; they didn’t want to be buried as a whole family, so they could only fight desperately for her claim to the throne.

She became Queen, and yet my family, once the strongest among the Fairy Spirits, was heavily damaged, and couldn’t even hold onto their territory.

Little fairies can’t control their emotions; my family absolutely refused to submit to her rule. Who would be willing to bow and scrape before a queen full of lies?

At that time, even though I was dubbed King’s Consort and obtained Divinity, I couldn’t be happy anymore; only my children were my solace.

But she already became the Queen!

According to the law of the little fairies, those who do not obey the Queen’s will can only be expelled from where the royal court is located.

But that was my family after all, who once fought bravely for her throne.

She didn’t dare to directly expel them, allowing them to lose their status as little fairies completely, and by then, our children had already become my mainstay.

What irony!

At Kum-Gras Lake, the family could no longer stay and could only migrate to the elves’ place; those long-eared tall folks were the only ones willing to promise to protect us.

Vila chose to go to Naish also hoping to take care of my family, so among my children, Titania liked Vila the least.

When deciding to migrate, time was very short, and Vila didn’t know what happened; there was no news at all, and I... couldn’t abandon Vila!

In the end, I could only send my longest-following subordinate to notify them to gather on the royal court’s side. As long as they were little fairies, Titania wouldn’t refuse them entry into the Outer Court.

My request was so humble...

When I returned disappointed from failing to find Vila, Titania covered her face and cried for a few sounds, then resolutely teleported the royal court to the Stellar Realm.”

Oberon’s face was full of sorrow, his large eyes almost glistening with tears: ”I saw that subordinate by her side, thinking they had all returned. Naturally, the family must have followed.

Yet upon reaching the Stellar Realm, it turns out there was nothing...

When I went mad wanting to return to Toril, Titania directly turned against me and imprisoned me until my daughter and son’s Divine Power rose to the point where she had to give way, and only then did she let me out.

However, it was all too late... I never found them again.

The only hope now is the elves in the Supreme Forest that never stopped resisting; the very group that established an alliance with my family back then.

But after dropping my avatar to search several times, I failed each time; the Divine Power reaction in that place was too conspicuous, and every appearance would be detected by the demons. I couldn’t bring trouble to the elves.”

Hill hesitated and glanced at Oberon, holding back the words that were about to escape his lips; he finally understood how weak these Fairy Spirits were, no wonder even Marla could invade their royal court at will and exit comfortably.

The reason the Elven Pantheon hardly cares about the elves of Ferun Great Land isn’t some Years of Turmoil, in which the Deities’ wills couldn’t manifest, but due to the elves’ internal strife.

Coron actually thinks that the elves are facing today’s consequence because they chose the path of destruction. When he strongly discouraged them back then, since they didn’t plan to listen to him, they had to accept the result of their own reckless behavior.

Hill had chatted with him a few times, already feeling the perspective of this Father of Elves.

So he somewhat believed that if the Elven God King caused trouble again after squandering the three chances promised by Coron, they could only wait for resurrection in Coron’s Divine Kingdom and would not have the chance to leave the Elven Holy Realm and independently establish a God System again.

If it weren’t for Teraxil currently being an ally with Coron... forget it, this shouldn’t be spoken by him.

Hill agreed to Oberon’s request, Purwell quickly turned, heading straight for the sky above the Supreme Forest through the clouds.

The speed of the Otherworldly Whale was swift, and they arrived swiftly.

Standing on the Crystal Platform, Hill furrowed his brows and gazed at the vast great forest. He finally understood what Lynn and the Elf Crusade had said.

That forest, although it looked normal, actually retained the aura of nature only in scattered spots and that small mountain range.

The other parts of the forest, though they looked like trees, should be called tree demons.

His eyes turned to the Star Mountain Range nearest to him, where the elves’ most famous legion, Aevraestar’s Sword, was stationed.

During the great retreat, though most elves departed, there were always some determined warriors who wanted to protect their homeland.

These warriors, worthy of being called great, liked to dress like Coron: generally favoring sky-blue cloaks, elven chainmail, long swords, and longbows.

They also received protection from All Gods, with various sacred lights flickering on the Star Mountain Range, striving to combat the terrifying black mist outside.

Though there are many other small divine-protected places in the Supreme Forest, these are where certain shrines of Elf Gods reside, and the real battlefield, besides the Hell’s Gate, is this mountain range.

Hill occasionally gleaned from Lynn’s sparse words that his mother, after being driven from Eternity Island, was lost and disoriented, suffering greatly. Eventually, his half-elf father exerted all his strength to bring their family to the Supreme Forest.

Lynn also had a younger brother who was born in the Star Mountain Range. Elves do not have a formal name before reaching adulthood, so his brother was called Little Star for many years, although he was already a Level 15 Mage.

Lynn didn’t say much, but he didn’t stay in the Supreme Forest and instead traveled outside. Hill could somewhat empathize with his heartache.

If he hadn’t become Miliel’s Priest, Lynn’s professional level really wasn’t high.

And such a Lynn truly couldn’t stay in the Supreme Forest to fight. This wasn’t a place where someone below Level 17 could survive, even with the protection of All Gods, but the pervasive abyssal aura could lead those insufficiently skilled to corruption with one mistake.

Hill silently lowered his head for a while.

Then suddenly laughed; he saw the Vanguard of the Undead Tribe charging toward the Hell’s Gate.

Hill had thought they would directly cross the Supreme Forest to the desert! How come they stayed here?

He didn’t look back at Lynn’s second hometown, directly directing Purwell to head for Hell’s Gate.

”If it hadn’t been transformed by you, I’d never go to such a ghastly place.” The tiny whale floated beside him, speaking with disdain, ”The air is so dirty!”

Oberon stood on tiptoes, leaning against the Crystal Wall to look below: ”Will we come back later? I want to see that mountain. I really recognize that knight corps’ attire.”

”After checking if anything happened at Hell’s Gate, we’ll head over there to check it out.” Hill promised him.

Oberon nodded and then looked at the towering black pillar reaching the clouds, shivering slightly: ”My avatars can only be destroyed every time I come to the Supreme Forest here.

At that time, I didn’t even dare approach this Hell’s Gate! The foul aura is too thick; I feel no difference from the Abyss.”

Oberon truly was a good father, as he sternly demanded Vila, who wanted to come out to watch, to stay below.

Before knowing if Hill’s Crystal Wall could completely block abyssal aura, he wouldn’t let his beloved daughter take the risk. Yet, as the one proposing to come to the Supreme Forest, Oberon stood bravely beside Hill, despite being frightened.

Hill smiled, sometimes understanding why the Fairy Queen didn’t want to give up Oberon, even though he was nearly estranged with her.

He truly was a serious and responsible good man; it was a pity to pair him with that Queen.

”Does the Abyss know that Coron has brought numerous elves?” Hill looked down in surprise at the demon army pouring out below.

No wonder the Undead Tribe suddenly turned here; surely the Knight Corps of various Temples guarding this place had sent a distress signal.

Most of Tyr’s Hand of Justice Knight Corps was stationed here. And as vanguard, the Black Rose carried Tyr’s Holy Emblem.
