Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 449: Chapter 248: Deafening Boom, The Battle in the Forest of the Elves

Hill accepted Adrian’s rolling eyes with joy, considering it a form of appreciation.

”Well, the intuition of a Nature Warlock,” Adrian muttered, ”I’ll take the book down first. Right now, Draculus is with his book at His Majesty the King’s side.

He went there with a few Legendary Mages, and after sitting down, he excluded everyone else.

Hill and the people of Saral were clueless.

They had grown accustomed to His Majesty the King’s indifference to levels, and when faced with the aura of superiority created by the mages, they weren’t surprised to find that levels indeed existed.

Instead, they felt that these mages were here to cause trouble.

When Naven, Belter, and I were standing to the side, watching with cold eyes, Draculus actually invited me to join them in front of everyone.

In their minds, with two Legendary Mages standing behind me, I had the right to stand with them.

But why should I care about him?

How could he have the audacity to say such a thing?

The best we could do between us and the Magic Tower is to stay cold and indifferent.”

Adrian still found out about that day when Draculus stood by and did nothing!

All Hill could do was to smile and soothe him, ”For him, he indeed had no obligation to protect me.

I didn’t go there to help him and the Mage Association.

To me, it wouldn’t matter if the entire Mage Association perished. My goal is to kill the demon.

So, it’s normal for others not to help me.

They’re just people I have no ties with! Uncle Adrian, there’s no need to to take any action on my behalf, keeping a neutral relationship is just fine.

Now, it is they who are regretting.”

A newly emerged Main God hostile to them is enough to give Draculus a headache.

If he had known earlier that Hill was raising a Sea God, Draculus definitely would have treated him better, not passing up any opportunity to curry favor.

However, had he known earlier, Agleya might have been in danger.

In his eyes, Agleya’s Spiral Pearls would only be seen as material for crafting Divine Artifacts.

Adrian paused for a moment: ”I know, that’s why I’m just not dealing with them, nor have I ordered anyone to delay their affairs.

Of course, I haven’t accepted their gifts or handled troublesome matters for them.

Making them queue is the greatest form of fairness I can give them.”

Hill laughed, ”Thank you, Uncle Adrian.”

Adrian is a very practical person, always weighing pros and cons in his actions. Logically, he should foster good relations with these people from the Mage Association.

After all, there was nothing wrong with Draculus not intervening when Hill was assassinated.

So what if he is cold and heartless? He didn’t kill anyone.

But with enough confidence, Adrian, who no longer feared being cut off by the Magic Tower from his own hands, finally stood tall and refused to compromise easily.

However, this was still for Hill’s sake. Otherwise, it is not in Adrian’s nature to offend others easily.

Adrian raised the Magic Book in his hand, ”What are you talking about? I’m going down. Many people want to see it with their own eyes!”

Then he flew down from the ship without looking back.

Hill understood what Adrian meant, Draculus’s Magic Book was not something everyone was qualified to see.

Although Draculus brought good news, Adrian, who allowed everyone in the Lord’s Mansion to see clearly what was happening, was the truly popular one.

Though the mages had slightly lowered their proud heads, they still had a long way to go!

What’s the use of flattering William? He wouldn’t grant special privileges to just anyone. If they wanted to get anything done, they would still have to queue up!

And today’s behavior of theirs, though it might appear condescending from a Legendary Mage’s perspective, was probably just barely tolerable hospitality to William.

It was as if Draculus’s summoning of Adrian over was not just because he saw him standing between two knights and felt he was degrading his status.

Adrian thought too much. Draculus wouldn’t feel he had wronged Hill in any way, as all his actions stemmed from his heart and were not mistaken.

But Adrian’s response was very appropriate.

The mages have been too superior for too long and won’t feel that their different treatment of Adrian would create any rift between him and his friends.

They definitely would not think that knights below Legendary had the right to be dissatisfied with the special treatment given to mages.

But the people of Saral would indeed be unhappy, which is the confidence William has given them over the years.

Fortunately, Adrian directly broke the aura of superiority created by the mages with his actions.

He didn’t care for the so-called privilege and turned around to borrow the book from the person with it for everyone to see together, with no need to compete with those hypocritical old men above.

Adrian may not feel much, but William must be very pleased now.

Hill heard about the buzz in the Lord’s Hall after Adrian returned and quietly smiled.

However, a loud noise suddenly came from the Forest of the Elves and startled him.

Hill abruptly stood up and left the room.

Moon Elves, no, Dark Moon Elves, this was an insult they could not tolerate, fighting with Elves?

Hill directly sat on the ship’s gunwale, gazing into the distance.

Indeed, the forest had erupted into chaos, and elves were battling everywhere.

However, contrary to what Hill had thought, those fighting were all Dark Moon Elves.

Their silver hair was quite conspicuous in the green forest, especially since they were fighting midair.

This was a dispute among the Dark Moon Elves themselves.

Hill’s eyes were quickly drawn to a tall female Moon Elf.

Virginia was standing on one side, watching the commotion with glee.

While others quarreled, she reveled in their misfortune.

Although Hill didn’t know what she was doing in the Forest of the Elves, it seemed she had little regard for either side of the fight.

The Dark Moon Elves were arguing fiercely, hurling savage insults at each other.

They were essentially providing Hill with a comprehensive guide to elvish cursing.

Hill listened with pleasure; a dog-eat-dog scenario always brought amusement no matter when it occurred.

Thus, even when he noticed some mages floating nearby, he did not shoo them away; this spot indeed offered an excellent view, making everything very clear.

Hill watched those mages casting spells to amplify their voices and was momentarily stunned.

Ever since he’d acquired the Wind Element Laws, no matter how quiet a sound was, as long as it was within his field of vision, Hill could hear it clearly whenever he wished.

He’d almost forgotten that even Legendary Mages might not be able to hear from such distances.

As for those in the Lord’s Mansion, they probably didn’t fly up to watch the spectacle because William must have used some method to let them directly see the scene over there.

Otherwise, at least Uncle Adrian would certainly have flown up to find a good position.

The tablet of the God of Time and Space, truly a fine tool for watching a show.

As long as William didn’t directly interfere with the interior of the Forest of the Elves, using his Divine Power to set up a tablet capable of live streaming on the outskirts was all too easy.

He certainly didn’t need the Undead Tribe to do such things.

When William had suddenly appeared beside Hill the last time, Hill had noticed that William was already very adept at utilizing Space Law, which was the power of deities, definitely not something a human could achieve.

The elemental waves during his spatial teleportation were extremely subtle; if Hill weren’t particularly sensitive, he might only have noticed someone had appeared beside him after William spoke.

It was precisely because of the World Will’s favoritism that William dared to say he could stay on this world for a long time.

Otherwise, given his current level of power, he would have long been urged by the World Will to ignite his Divine Fire and be kicked out into the starry sky.

Hill could see everything very clearly on his own and didn’t need to go down and squeeze into a hall with a bunch of individuals he didn’t like to watch.

His thoughts merely skimmed over the people below and then continued to listen intently to the conversation in the forest.

Those former Moon Elves who still had some pride had left the Forest of the Elves during the fall of the Goddess of the Hunt.

Though they dared not defy the Elf Deity System, at least they no longer followed the commands of the Forest of the Elves.

The ones who stayed in the Forest of the Elves either considered themselves Elves or simply did not care about anything as long as their own lives were comfortable.

But Hill hadn’t expected these Dark Moon Elves to have no objections to having their name changed.

No, they did have objections, but there was something else that made them even angrier.

Hill understood their roars of anger; the Forest of the Elves no longer regarded this group of Dark Moon Elves as significant.

The Elven God King hadn’t made the decision outright in a fit of madness.

After coining the name Dark Moon Elf, he had once issued a divine oracle seeking the Elves’ opinions.

If there were too many protests, he was considering changing it.

However, the Elf Queen only summoned those who, although called Moon Elves, in reality, resembled Elves more.

These individuals didn’t even live in the Moon Elves’ residential areas apart from their silver hair.

So they had no opposition; in their hearts, they still considered themselves Elves, merely temporarily residing among the Moon Elf tribes.

The other group, who believed themselves to belong to the Moon Elves, received no message at all.

In the eyes of the higher-ranking Elves of the Forest of the Elves, they were simply substandard beings unworthy of consideration.

Compared to the Lord of the Moon Elves, who needed the agreement of all Moon Elves to take office, the position of the deity for the now renamed Dark Moon Elves only required adherence to the edicts of the Elven God King.

And the Elven God King has always favored those who pleased him.

Their display of indifference also led the Elves to completely disregard their opinions.

It was probably assumed that as long as their way of living was not altered, these so-called Moon Elves wouldn’t care who became their deity.

So the Queen of the Forest of the Elves had never intended to seek the opinions of all Moon Elves.

That group that joyously accepted the name of Dark Moon Elf—those were her true loyal subordinates.

The Divine Position of the Lord of the Dark Moon Elves would also be selected from these Dark Moon Elves loyal to the Forest of the Elves.
