Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 430: Chapter 229: Hill’s Valley, Land of All Gods’ Blessings

Fran and Hill stood in the sky, silently watching the valley below.

Agleya did not wish to affect Hill’s territory, so she gathered all the Holy Power near the fountain, then mischievously included the location of the Illusion Array, and without sparing any Divine Power, evolved the array.

If the Undead Tribe were to enter again, it would not be simply a matter of running away to resolve it.

Who knows how many sea storms and iceberg attacks they would encounter.

However, they would probably prefer it.

Maybe those with Magical Beasts would try every means to run in and play.

Hill, on the other hand, considered it quite good; to the naturally born Deities who do not need faith, the Undead really are quite useful.

When they circled around, even cursing Agleya wasn’t a problem, as long as they mentioned it often. Although the Undead are sharp-tongued, they seldom carry real malice when cursing Deities.

To them, Agleya is a little girl before her identity as a deity, which naturally makes them more polite with their words.

Just complaining about Agleya, the little girl wouldn’t feel anything anymore.

She had already heard so much from the Undead cursing William.

Fran looked at Hill, who did not think there was anything wrong with the valley, and for once felt a bit of a headache:

Indeed, Hill had received many benefits.

But for a Mage, this place really was too inconceivable.

The valley of Hill’s had always been rich with a natural aura, then later complemented by the power of the sun god. Although Silvermoon’s power was very subtle, faint enough that it was hard to notice, Fran would naturally not fail to discover it.

Now there was the addition of the Water God’s power, and it was the birthplace of Deities at that. The Water Divine Power, concentrated near the fountain in the center of the valley, was like the possessive owner of Divine Power, spreading a brazen and aggressive aura.

In the town outside, there was also the power of the Gods of Time and Space.

What to do in the future? This place couldn’t possibly become the blessed land of all Gods?

If Hill were to build a Temple, there would be no need to pray to those Deities; it would naturally form by itself once completed.

He was a Law Sorcerer who walked the path of a Mage!

Almost becoming a spokesperson for all Gods!

”What if someone starts to worship the Water God and wants to enter your valley to pay homage?” Fran asked helplessly.

”Just worship outside the valley!” said Hill nonchalantly, ”Agleya is still young; she can’t accept Faith Power. It’s not good for her growth. She’ll listen to me. I used to worry she would seek quick success, so whenever I had time, I would mention to her those stories about being trapped by faith.”

Fran glanced at him: Hill dared to say such nonsense only because he was sure that the God of Nobility had completely shielded Saral.

”What about the sea monsters?” Fran raised the group most affected by the appearance of the Sea God.

These sea monsters, who feigned death years ago to avoid dealing with Demons, did so because they didn’t want a Sea God looming over them, right?

They had long considered the ocean their own.

Just like the Demigods in the wilderness, not all Earth Attribute Demigods longed for the revival of the Goddess of the Earth.

Even if the wilderness was troublesome, it was their territory, where even Deities could not enter.

But once the Goddess of the Earth revived, the wilderness would no longer be a forbidden zone for humans.

They preferred a fractured wilderness to a whole Earth and did not want a master who could easily control their life and death looming over them.

The sea monsters, compared to the Demigods on land, had enjoyed their freedom for even longer.

They had occupied every corner of the sea and, of course, did not welcome any Sea God.

Who would want a new boss to suddenly drop in over their heads?

And there were so many Demigods among the sea monsters precisely because there was no Chief God of Water, and Bex was a fool who had given up his Divinity.

The so-called Demigods were actually those who could control a bit of the Law but weren’t powerful enough to ascend to godhood with that slight Law.

Otherwise, they would be called future Deities.

Like William, no one called him a Demigod.

But the sea monster Demigods had all touched a bit of the edge of the Water Law.

Now it was not possible, the more adept Agleya became at controlling the Law from the Starry Sky, the less power the sea monsters had.

If Agleya decided to take back control of these Laws, the Demigods among the sea monsters would have no possibility of progress.

And Agleya would definitely take it back.

Those who had become Demigods by borrowing the Power of Laws wouldn’t fall back to the realm of Legends just because the Law was taken back, but that would be it.

But if any sea monsters wish to become Demigods in the future, they would have to pray to the Chief God of Water, Agleya, for her blessing.

Similar to the Dwarves and Elves among Demigods and the Pope within various human Temples, they are essentially the same.

The sea monsters were surely in a panic now.

The ancient pathway to heaven had become a small path that one could only enter after knocking on the door and getting the owner’s consent.

Hill glanced at the Starry Sky, ”That’s Agleya’s business. This matter relies only on her will, not the will of the sea monsters. Before she is fully grown, there will be plenty of time for these monsters to think carefully about how to choose.”

”Your turtle friend Bex must be getting a thrashing right now?” Fran suddenly said.

”The old turtle isn’t that foolish, this is the last hope of their tribe. Agleya will surely repay this unique kindness,” Hill smiled, ”From the way he conducts himself, it’s clear that he understands how to weigh pros and cons. For a matter that’s already decided, he would only look for the most advantageous path.”

Fran nodded, ”I’m still not quite used to treating magical beasts as equals to humans, I must get rid of this flaw. In the future, the magical beasts I deal with, like the old turtle or Merkel, won’t be few.

Magical beasts from other worlds might be very powerful, I must pay attention.”

”Grandfather, you’ll probably still stay here for a while, right?” Hill blinked her eyes, although Fran always talked about leaving, this was the first time he had spoken so explicitly.

”Adrian does seem to have found his way,” Fran smiled slightly, ”Moreover, I’m no longer worried about the inheritance of the Magic Tower after you leave.”

Hill smiled as well, Agleya might not help with anything, but if someone really dared to hurt Adrian, she would definitely not sit idly by.

For Fran, after Hill became a Legendary Law Mage, his biggest concern was Adrian and the inheritance of the Magic Tower.

But now, he could let go of half of his worries.

He just had to wait and see what kind of students Adrian would find.

Though he wouldn’t interfere, if Adrian was foolish enough to accept an idiot as a student, Fran would have to step in and stop it in time.

A person’s character isn’t problematic, but that doesn’t mean their mind can’t be shortsighted.

Take William’s two brothers, for instance, Edward, whose character is poor and who is downright stupid, I won’t even mention him, and then there’s Charles. Charles’s character isn’t too problematic, it’s considered quite good among the nobility.

But who would dare entrust him with important tasks?

It’s normal for him to act impulsively and screw things up.

As long as it’s not that kind of student, even if it’s someone with slightly less insight, or skewed in a certain discipline like Adrian, Fran could tolerate it.

”Uncle Adrian, didn’t you always say you wanted to take the Alchemy Academy students to Central City for practice? There are still many small tasks there that they can do while learning, right?” Hill asked, tilting her head, ”They should have gone by now, right?”

”They arrived a couple of days ago, Adrian held an assessment at the academy, and those who passed were taken with him. Those who didn’t pass continue to relearn the basics with Boen.

It’s said that he took away more than twenty. I looked at the questions he set for the exam, and anyone who could pass would be about the same as an Alchemy Apprentice who had studied for around 5 years.

They still have to attend Mage classes on top of that, so their performance is indeed commendable.

It seems that for us in the Magic Tower with little desire for power, King’s Academy is a good place to cultivate apprentices.

It saves a lot of trouble.

And it also allows for the cream of the crop to be selected, eliminating the need to choose and train a successor all over again if the first one fails.”

Hill glanced at Fran.

”That’s right, I’m talking about your foolish mother, and you,” Fran said expressionlessly, ”If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have taken the position of Archmage at the Royal Palace, thinking it was a more stable environment for a Female Mage.

Who doesn’t want to pass on all they have to their children?

Who could have guessed that she didn’t inherit anything from the Moon Elves except for a desire for beauty?

Fortunately, your talents are decent, and every time Adrian comes back from visiting you, he’s all smiles, feeling like a great burden has been lifted off his shoulders.

Just waiting for everything to end, to have you by my side.

Yet, you ended up awakening as a Magician, and Adrian sure wailed a lot when he came back.

Do you think he has a hard time finding students? He compares everyone to how you were as a child and always manages to find some flaw,”

Hill could only remain silent.

Fran seemed very happy today; he never usually shared such things.

It looked like he indeed had much less pressure on his shoulders.

Compared to the inheritance, the fact that Adrian’s life was secured was more important.

Both Hill and Fran actually understood that Adrian was unlikely to become the kind of legend that could traverse the Starry Sky.

At most, under the protection of two Laws, Adrian simply could not gain a foothold in the Starry Sky.

The invisible force in the Starry Sky targets not only the physical body but also the Mental Sea of every person.

Fran said with a particular look in his eyes, ”Indeed, humans are creatures that bully the weak and fear the strong. Before, if there was any advantage to be had here, people were hiding all around, but today when the benefits are the greatest, there’s not a single soul in sight.”

Hill almost laughed out loud.

While there were no people, they were certainly watching; with so much spiritual power, Hill wasn’t dulled in the senses.

Fran was straightforwardly scolding those guys!

”Since no one has come looking for trouble, I’ll be heading back,” Fran said with a smile, ”Will the Sorcerer Tower come find you?”

Hill understood what Fran was getting at.

The Sorcerer Tower had paid so much to keep a position of faith in the Water God, and now it was too late to give up; they had to keep going headstrong. So, to touch the subsidiary Laws of the Main Water System Law, they would need the Chief God’s approval.

But what did that have to do with him?

Hill wasn’t a deity and couldn’t manage so many affairs.
