Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 411: Chapter 210 Charging Forward, Preparing for Battle!

Hill slowly stabilized his emotions.

Although Draculus was ruthless, he wouldn’t kill innocent people indiscriminately.

Since he was absolutely neutral, there must be a bottom line in his heart.

He wouldn’t let himself change his faction for the sake of ants he disregarded.

If there were really a lot of people who died,

it could only prove that the bottom rungs of the Mage Association had been largely corrupted.

Low-level Professionals found it difficult to maintain sufficient clarity of will on their own.

Draculus, a person who only looked at the results, wouldn’t care whether people were forced into demonization.

Hill wouldn’t grieve or be angry over people he didn’t know dying, no matter how many; the unrelated passing would only make him reflect on the transience of life.

What truly made Hill feel a bit sad was the reality that human lives were treated as insignificant.

Hill didn’t know whether it was the influence of nature that made him hate what demons did so much, but he truly felt that if a demon appeared before him, he definitely wouldn’t let that person go.

Hill felt that perhaps it was because he was no longer a person who could casually decide others’ fate; he had gained tremendous power and could now confront everything happening before him.

Not only could he protect himself, but he also had the power to resist, and thus he had the capacity to sympathize with others.

Hill sighed and turned to Adrian, saying, ”I don’t care that much. It’s just that he blew up the entire mountain range.”

Adrian suddenly realized, ”Has the Natural Consciousness gone mad?”

”Yes,” Hill felt uncomfortable; he could hear the wailing of nature, ”But it’s useless, the chairman blasted the place along with the areas corrupted by demons. It only shows that he overreacted and that he can’t shift his faction. The World Will is very rigid in this regard.

The destructive assaults made to counter demons are not considered harm to nature.

Now, the Natural Consciousness is just sorrowful; it hasn’t come to its senses yet, it can only follow the World Rules’ judgement, feeling that this piece of land was implicated.”

But in my heart, I understand that he did it on purpose.

This way is the most hassle-free, sparing him from having to spend a great deal of time inspecting every bit of soil.”

Adrian shook his head, ”There’s nothing that can be done.

Everyone understands that he not only killed the demon mages but also got rid of the traitors. No one will fuss over it; the fact that he took action against demons is already appreciated.

But as for the Mage Association, have they completely turned against us?

Otherwise, even if it’s just for show, they wouldn’t all scatter.”

Hill remembered that on the passing spaceship earlier, there were only two or three ordinary legendaries.

About the same level as Miller.

Those powerful Legendary Laws hadn’t come.

”I’m not sure. Let’s go check if there’s any news from Grandfather!” Hill walked into the study; he wanted to ask if Fran had any news.

However, Fran seemed to be very busy at the moment.

The sounds of clamor reached Hill’s ears through the communicator.

He and Adrian, who was following behind, exchanged a look and silently listened.

Fran hadn’t cut off contact with Hill, and his Tower Spirit Mont was ceaselessly passing on information.

The branches of the Mage Association didn’t know what had happened and were now in chaos.

Asking around for news.

Diamant was continuously announcing the names of chairmen from branches in various countries, wanting to know if Fran, who had just returned from that place, had any news.

Fran was just constantly replying that he was also inquiring, and his tone was unusually consoling,

though he didn’t say anything helpful.

But at least it showed that this was a matter between Legendary Laws, unrelated to others.

Fran’s attention, was focused on Halaster Chambers, a legendary mage who was nearby.

They had just concluded a trade, and this person was planning to visit the Mage Association.

Chambers had almost lost his life.

He was nearly hurled thousands of kilometers by the direct blast of the explosion.

Hill listened as Chambers spoke with a tremble in his voice, trying his best to remain stable, but occasionally the clack of his teeth meeting could be heard.

His speech was somewhat jumbled.

But Fran understood completely, it was indeed a calamity out of the blue.

If he had been flying faster, he really could have been blown to death.

Chambers, who had been a legendary figure for a long time, had almost forgotten the fear of the Life Fire nearly being extinguished.

Even as a legendary mage, he was shaken.

When faced with Fran’s questions about casualties, Chambers nearly shouted.

The Mage Association had only six ships out.

Even legendary mages who typically disregarded the lives of lower mages, couldn’t accept the reality of the mage population of the world suddenly diminishing by so much.

Hearing this, Hill’s mouth felt dry; he exchanged glances with Adrian.

The ships of the Mage Association were not like William’s super-huge ship with vast internal space that could accommodate thousands; fitting a few thousand would already be good.

Hill knew the Half-Elf Legend that had troubled him; those Half-Elf Mages didn’t want to dwell in places fully inhabited by humans. But they weren’t far off, presumably in a forest outside that mountain range, where they had built their Magic Tower.

They likely wouldn’t have been blown up altogether, at worst suffering some injuries.

But when counting the population of the Mage Kingdom, they generally weren’t included.

Draculus was truly too cruel!

Tens of thousands out of a population of several hundred thousand escaped? Is that it?

Fran kept asking, whether there were people who managed to escape on their own.

He was trying to count exactly how many had officially left.

Was there anyone who had survived that explosion and fled to safety?

He tried to guide Chambers into speaking calmly, and amidst the fragmented conversation, he learned a bit about the situation on the ground.

Indeed, there were survivors from that explosion.

Especially those who were almost completely turned into demons.

With physiques far superior to humans, although they were gravely injured, they still had a chance to survive.

Unfortunately, Draculus and a few of the Legendary Laws had been guarding the area.

Any living survivors from the destructive blast were killed on sight, regardless of the reason.

No one had any objections to this; humans, even those purely of the Defense System, couldn’t possibly survive such a terrifying explosion.

No explanation was necessary.

But although Draculus was at the scene, he hadn’t lifted a finger himself; it was the other Legendary Laws who had taken action just now.

He had been standing midair, waiting for something.

Therefore, Chambers, this nearby Legendary Mage, did not hesitate to activate the Alchemy Magic Tower he bought from Fran and maximize its defense, planning to hide until everything was over.

Only someone extremely ruthless and solemnly waiting like that couldn’t possibly be a minor character.

He was a bit worried that he might be targeted if he just left carelessly.

Luckily, the Alchemy Magic Towers made by Fran could be directly connected to him; Chambers had just bought it and hadn’t set up any other communicators yet, so he could only grumble these issues to Fran.

After speaking for a while, his emotions had stabilized.

He just kept regretting, so many mages! Was the Mage Association’s hard work of over a hundred thousand years really thoroughly ruined?

Hill was stunned for a moment, then bit his lip.

His intuition told him that if he didn’t go there, the chief culprit, the demon, would definitely get away.

He wasn’t very powerful, but his ability to conceal himself was extremely formidable.

Without special Law Force, he couldn’t be found.

But the power of the sun god could definitely do it.

The Cloud Ship slowly started, heading to the North.

Hill turned his head to look at Adrian, ”Uncle Adrian, you go back! I’m going to take a look over there.”

Adrian was very surprised; Hill had always been one to avoid trouble, so why did he suddenly want to take action?

”What can you do if you go there? You won’t be able to withstand those who even the president couldn’t, right? Don’t take risks; it’s unnecessary,” Adrian said.

”It’s not a matter of withstanding, but of catching,” Hill replied lightly, ”I just need to set up a few layers of tornadoes nearby.

My magic comes with the power to dispel evil, enough to prevent him from passing by while invisible.

As long as I can hold him off for a moment, that’s good enough.

Draculus is there for the rest; I don’t need to do much.”

Seeing Adrian worried, Hill reassured him, ”I will try to stay as far away as possible.

But if I do run into danger, I can escape quickly.”

Thinking it over, Adrian said, ”If there’s no danger, I’ll come with you! I’m worried about you.”

”Uncle Adrian, you absolutely can’t come with me,” Hill said seriously, ”If I really need to escape, I won’t be able to take you with me.”

Fran, who was on the other side, heard their conversation and said calmly, ”Adrian, go back.

Hill has things he must do.

Your abilities are not enough; don’t create disorder for him.”

Adrian’s face looked a bit ugly; after a moment of silence, he bid farewell, resigned.

Flying in the air, watching Hill’s Cloud Ship speed away rapidly, Adrian bit his lip.

For the first time, he felt what it truly meant to not be Legendary.

All this time, with Fran behind him, Adrian had not suffered any repression.

He, born to nobles, never felt the need to engage in intrigue or face any difficulty.

Adrian never had the sense of urgency that not being Legendary would lead to extinction.

But today, watching Hill confront danger while he, just by his side, didn’t even have the right to be a spectator.

He finally felt an overwhelming realization of his own weakness.

Legendary! Adrian quietly pondered the word; his once-drifting heart suddenly hit the ground hard.

As soon as Adrian left, Hill accelerated the Cloud House’s speed.

He dumped a large amount of High-level Crystals into the core of the Cloud House without caring for the consumption.

Then collected all the plants on the ship into his pendant space.

Hill knew the Cloud House’s defensive power was enough to withstand a strike from a Demigod.

This was something he had achieved after learning that Demigods participated in the Dwarven Wars, at the cost of a lot of resources.

Even though the activation of the Magic Array required the consumption of many High-level Crystals, Hill was not without them.

Regardless, life was the most important.

But after one hit, the Cloud Ship would be falling, so he had to be prepared.
