Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 431: Chapter 230: The Land of Nature, Agleya’s Labyrinth

Fran knew what Hill was worried about, but he had never been one to repay evil with kindness.

Being kind to others was his nature, but to insist on kindness towards vengeful people was madness.

He always considered himself a normal person.

”What does it have to do with me?” Hill casually dismissed, ”If you want to become a Divine Subordinate of the Water Element, just go and pray directly to Agleya! She is the Main God and can hear the sincere voices.

Although I have supported her for a few years, I don’t have the audacity to ask a Main God to grant a Divine Position just like that.

That would be shameless.”

Fran shook his head, unable to suppress his laughter.

He said his goodbyes and left; as long as Hill knew what was in his heart, it was enough.

After all, he was a man with two daughters now.

As long as Hill stood his ground, there was no one now who had the ability to force him to do anything.

He was a man who had easily survived an attack from a Demigod.

Unless a Main God intervened personally, who else could kill him without him noticing?

And the Deities, should they intervene, would certainly leave traces.

Unless Hill was foolish enough to contend with a Deity for Divinity, no God would risk the danger of a God War to act against him.

This was different from the war between the God of Nobility and God of Time and Space, where the main force was actually humans.

Neither the God of Nobility nor the God of Time and Space was truly planning to fight to the death.

That’s why later, the God of Nobility was able to make peace and directly collaborate with the Gods of Time and Space.

Fran left freely, and Hill looked around; these spying spiritual powers were really annoying.

Hill landed directly on the Magic Tower.

He didn’t plan to bother with these people, as long as they didn’t enter his territory.

The Holy Rain might only come once in a lifetime, and Hill wasn’t going to allow the discomfort to make the residents in his territory sacrifice their interests.

Especially the Female Knights in those few small towns who had married; they started with poor foundations, yet initially, they gave all the Potions meant for themselves to those men to help them advance as Knights.

If List hadn’t discovered it later and demanded that they consume it in front of him, they might have never expected to become Knights.

That’s why it was so difficult for them to advance to Grand Knights.

She thought these women had only watched as their two companions advanced, but now by a rare stroke of luck, they encountered such a good fortune.

The Holy Rain not only extended life but could replenish a person’s inherent foundation.

In the valley, the Magical Plants and Magical Beasts also felt excited, even the Treants and Elements had long since run out of the Magic Tower.

Hill quietly activated the Isolation Array in his study, took the plant from the pendant, set it in the pot, and moved the Puppets to the side of the fountain.

List’s Magic Tower could really benefit from some extra rain!

”Sir, many Magical Beasts have come rushing, wanting to enter the valley,” List suddenly appeared before him.

Hill blinked in surprise.

That List, who had grown accustomed to receiving Magical Beasts, would be so surprised indicated there really must be many.

Did they feel this would absolutely save their lives?

”Let them be! Just settle it with the Undead Tribe, and don’t cause trouble for me later,” Hill was not very concerned; he hadn’t expanded the valley because it was unnecessary, not because he lacked the capability.

”Sir, please be assured, I have set up a notice board at the entrance. Magical Beasts wanting to enter must press their paw print as evidence they have read the valley’s notice and fully agree before they can come in,” List said earnestly.

”Heh,” Hill let out a rare cold laugh, was this what? The usual disclaimer in online games? The type where you have to sign an agreement to play?

”Sir, practical things should not be judged by their origin,” List calmly said.

”If it gets too crowded that the valley can’t bear it, remember to notify me to expand the space,” Hill said, smiling gently as he watched the reveling Elements, Magical Plants, and Magical Beasts outside the window.

This land, nourished by the Holy Rain, should recover better now, right?

The Holy Rain outside had stopped after a day and a night.

But within the boundary of Hill’s territory, it continued to fall.

The effects of Holy Rain on humans and Magical Beasts had their limits; generally, standing in the rain for 1 hour was about the maximum benefit one could get.

Unless one was a devout believer, it was rare for anyone to stay immersed from start to finish.

But for the land and the plants on it, this was truly a feast.

Hill’s territory had completely turned into the Land of Nature.

Not to mention the suddenly increased Magical Plants in the valley.

Even Hill’s town and the surrounding fields were filled with them.

Some Magical Plants, determined never to interact with other flora and fauna but reluctant to give up the Holy Rain,

brought carefully prepared gifts, planning to be guests in Hill’s territory until the rain ceased.

Hill nodded his agreement.

Then he was dumbstruck as he received a large quantity of seeds and mineral materials.

Some items, even the Undead Tribe had not encountered before.

Perhaps they had been quietly gathered by these plants that had grown for ten thousand years.

The things collected by Magical Plants, not to mention anything else, were extremely rich in energy, particularly those that didn’t even like grass around them.

Hill had always thought, there was nothing in the Western Mountains that could move him, but now, he had quietly changed his mind.

While everyone’s attention was still away from the mountains, should he not first go and look for treasures?

At Hill’s Domain, the persistent light rain finally ceased after three days and three nights.

The brilliance of the Sun God once again shone through the valley.

Hill sat on the patio, quietly feeling the warmth of the sun.

Behind him in the study, the beautiful ice crystal emanated Agleya’s voice from time to time.

She had enough power, but lacked experience, managing to exchange a few words with Hill.

Hill did not mind her popping up to talk, but he cared that she used Divine Power on unnecessary matters.

”That’s enough for today, Agleya,” Hill said without turning around, but the shimmering light from the ice crystal obediently extinguished.

Hill knew that not allowing her to talk at all would be too hard for the young girl to bear.

But setting a limit on how many times she could speak, she had no objections to that.

Aside from this large ice crystal in the study, no other had this communication feature.

If Hill got upset and simply left the study, Agleya would be at a loss.

After being scolded once, the Little Sea God had been behaving properly ever since.

She had been working hard recently, hoping that once her Divine Power strengthened, she could contact Hill anytime, anywhere.

Hill had restored the ecosystem within the pendant to its original state and, in passing, gathered quite a lot of soil from the valley.

This soil, moistened by the Holy Rain, was fertile enough. These past few days, Hill had cultivated a large amount of cedar saplings and collected plenty of Emerald Butterfly seeds.

”Sir, Mr. Snow Cloud Peak is here,” List appeared quietly, ”Should I invite him into the Magic Tower?”

”Let’s not harm him,” Hill replied with a resigned smile, ”that painting is of Demigod Level. Tell him I will meet him by the fountain; I think I know what he wants.”

It was probably because Hill’s Emerald Butterflies were exceptionally effective in treating heavy metal pollution.

Did William intend to seal up the entire mines of the Dwarf Kingdom?

The fellow was actually very shrewd; he understood that these plants, if harvested and decomposed correctly, were actually the best mining methods.

And Hill was never someone to kill without burying.

Anyone who knew Hill understood that when he released such a powerful weapon as the Emerald Butterflies, he certainly had a retrieval plan in place.

Thus, until now, nobody had approached Hill to complain that this was an exploitation of resources.

There were definitely foolish people, but The Wise Ones have stopped them.

Hill was no longer someone who could be easily blamed.

Indeed, people had asked him if the Sea God needed an altar even without a temple.

Hill flatly refused.

Before Agleya grew into an adult, it was best she kept away from any faith power.

He had nurtured this young girl nicely, and he couldn’t let her be tainted by any corrupt thoughts.

By nature, the Sea God was already quite irascible.

In Hill’s memory, many legendary Sea Gods were good Deities of chaotic neutrality.

If Agleya were to take in human desires before reaching adulthood, Hill’s efforts would be in vain.

Those who came to Hill with such inquiries certainly had no good intentions.

Agleya’s youthful appearance seemed to give these individuals an opportunity to exploit.

Those who used communicators to find Hill, Hill coldly refused, and they were just testing the waters.

As for those who directly sought out Hill’s valley trying to persuade him to immediately build a temple for Agleya, gather followers, and self-recommend themselves had turned to ash, swept away by a great wind to unknown places.

As Hill arrived at the fountain plaza, the Undead were robustly screaming within the Maze Illusion Array.

Agleya presented them with a fine reward.

Those who lasted until the end could see the exit of the illusion; entering it, they would receive a large barrel of Holy Water from Agleya.

This was the Holy Water from a Chief God of Water.

So, the Undead had shifted some of their time meant for searching for Magical Beast companions to perform a run through the maze.

Hill always heard them shouting, ”Agleya, how can you be so harsh?”

”Agleya, you’re too harsh!”

”Little mischievous spirit!”

Even if they considered Agleya just an NPC, they restrained themselves a lot in front of a child.

Mockery might be fine, but swearing at a child, even if she was an NPC, many were reluctant to appear that shameful.

Of course, there are scoundrels everywhere.

But when everyone around follows the same rule, even if reluctant, one tends to conform with most people.

However, if it were an enemy, they probably wouldn’t control themselves like this.

List had already placed a Mushroom House there, and as Hill got seated inside, Snow Cloud Peak hurriedly rushed in, ”Mr. Hill! Congratulations! You’ve raised your daughter well!”

Hill nodded, ”Thank you! Are you here for the Emerald Butterflies?”

”The Dwarf Kingdom is full of dirty mines, it really needs some greening! The Undead are very eager to help,” said Snow Cloud Peak with a smile.

The Undead listening outside ’tched’ loudly, there were quite a lot of them.
