Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 447: Chapter 246: Deities Are Not Bad, But I Choose Magic

Looking at William’s face, filled with the desire for knowledge, Hill knew he had no reason to hide anymore.

Now, the biggest trouble in his hands had already gone to the starry sky, right under the eyes of the gods.

And it was still supervised by this Divine Fire’s former Main God.

Even after becoming a Legendary Mage, Hill still did not want to reveal the Moon Tree, fearing that someone with sharp eyes might spot the Divine Fire on the tree.

Aging Legendary Mages were troublesome beings, and Hill did not like inviting trouble upon himself.

Now, of course, it did not matter. Although the power contained in the Divine Fire was mighty, it had been divided into many parts.

Whether it was a Legendary Mage or a Deity, those who could encounter it were not interested, and those who were interested could not lay their hands on it.

”That is the Divine Fire of the Goddess of the Hunt.” Hill said with a nonchalant smile, ”It has already become the nourishment for the Moon Tree.”

”So I did not feel wrong; this Moon Tree does belong to you.

The demeanor of that Xerthis was exactly like something taken from you,” William said helplessly, ”Was it during the fall of the Goddess of the Hunt? You were indeed present then. And you still walked the path of a Mage so honestly? Deities aren’t that bad, are they?”

”Deities are certainly not bad, but besides wanting to see the world around, that divinity was not suitable for me,” Hill laughed, ”Your Majesty, I am a Nature Warlock, and the strongest law for me is the Earth element.

And the Divine Fire that the Goddess of the Hunt gave me was something she obtained as the first Moon Elf in the world.

That was a natural racial divinity.

If I had accepted it, all my strength attributes would have changed.

At most, I would retain a small amount of wood element, but not much.

Even if a Moon Elf is a Druid, they rarely belong to the magic system; they lean more toward close combat.

I never intended to abandon my true bloodline.

I like spells, and communicating with the laws.

I prefer the identity of a Nature Warlock and do not wish to change.”

William suddenly laughed: ”So Adrian always said you were a proud and confident person, which always made me wonder.

Clearly, you conduct yourself gently, avoid conflicts with others, and easily step back from things that do not matter to you.

It turns out the real you is like this.

Even a divine position, to you, is only precious if it is what you want.

Otherwise, even if given for free, you would forgo it.

The Goddess of the Hunt, choosing you back then, was indeed rare wisdom.

This group of Moon Elves, though fewer than those from the past, varies greatly in power.

Even without past memories, they have a better fate.”

Hill looked at William with curiosity; people should be proud of their character, not an upper hand in loftiness.

He believed William understood this point.

Probably in this world, seeing a person like Hill was rare, making William so reflective!

Hill looked at the new Moon Elves appearing on the Moon Halo with a pleasant smile.

Hill had once hoped that this Moon Tree could become a deity, but he had a peculiar feeling that any plant grown from the seeds of the World Tree could never awaken intelligence.

Even if they looked exactly like the World Tree and were called the World Tree, the result would be the same.

So, the outcome he hoped for was what it was now.

Even the few Moon Elves born after Xerthis all exuded powerful strength.

Hill’s eyes gleamed with a smile as he looked at the newly appeared Moon Elves.

Whether male or female, they all had softly flowing platinum blonde hair, and their eyes were moon-white, a very light shade of blue that looked gentle and pure.

Their expressions ranged from innocent to indifferent.

Even one who appeared quite stubborn wore a gentle expression when talking to their siblings.

Most importantly, even though there were differences in power among them, the gaps were minimal; they were all incredibly strong demigods.

Perhaps the ones born later were slightly inferior to Xerthis, but the differences were nothing compared to the gap between the Goddess of the Hunt and the Lord of the Moon Elves, which made sisters of the same tree become a deity and a maid who had to rely on divine favor to become deity and survive.

Hill had given them a fair start; what happened afterward depended on these Moon Elves themselves.

This grand birth lasted for half a month, and the deities probably already knew the relationship between these Moon Elves and Hill.

So even in the Elf Deity System, no one stepped forward to reclaim these already gathered Moon Elves ready to enter the Sea God’s Kingdom.

They were no longer part of the same race.

Even though they still looked like elves.

The Moon Tree’s radiance remained brilliant; although no one knew when the next batch of Moon Elves would be born, it was clear there would be more, as small seed pods had already appeared on the branches.

William showed up on the first day to inquire of Hill and then turned to leave because what drew his attention was not the birth of the Moon Elves but the confidence Hill had given them.

If Silvermoon did not take this tree back, perhaps these Moon Elves would have appeared much later and could only emerge on the ground.

But at the moment of their birth, they might be high-level or even legendary.

At that time, even if the elves had completely lost their influence on the ground, it would not affect this Moon Elf tribe.

Neither humans nor deities would dare to act recklessly against this race.

Hill had already thought very thoroughly about their future.

Even though there were no people around when William spoke to Hill, their conversation had probably spread throughout the world by the next day.

Hill could feel various gazes around him.

But now, no one would come to ask Hill about his thoughts concerning the Half-Elf Kingdom.

The appearance of the Moon Elves declared Hill’s stance against the Forest of the Elves.

Even his grandmother would have no influence on this matter of stance.

Everyone understood why the Forest of the Elves was silent.

They knew in their hearts, whether human or elf, why the Divine Fire of the Goddess of the Hunt was quietly given to Hill.

Before her fall, the goddess no longer considered the Moon Elves in the Forest of the Elves to be her race.

She preferred to believe that a human with Moon Elf blood would take good care of these pure-blood Moon Elves, rather than think those Moon Elves would bring back their ancestors.

That highly regarded demigod Druid, once valued by the Goddess of the Hunt, was also considered the same way.

Under these circumstances, the Forest of the Elves had simple choices: either use Thunder Strike to utterly destroy the tree on the Moon Halo or change the name of the Moon Elves in the Forest of the Elves.

But the Goddess of the Silvermoon, although not paying attention to the birth of the Moon Elves, was very concerned about this tree.

Or rather, she was waiting to see if the Elf God King dared to shatter her Moon Halo again while she was fully awake and intact.

One on one, relying solely on his strength, the Goddess of the Silvermoon was not afraid of that useless wielder of the Elf Throne.

But everyone knew he would definitely use his father’s Divine Artifact.

So these days, the Sun God had been standing at the gate of his kingdom every day watching.

And of course, Sea God Agleya, who came daily to fetch Moon Elves.

Even without the intervention of human deities, these three natural gods were entirely unafraid of that powerful Divine Artifact.

Obviously, the only thing the Elf God King achieved by using the powerful Divine Artifact was lessening its power, not increasing it.

The Elf God King impressed Hill somewhat by completely disregarding his pride, giving up without even attempting a struggle.

He preferred to be mocked by humans rather than come out and be bitten by dogs.

On the day when the most seeds fell from the Moon Tree, even the Dwarf Deity System stood outside their divine kingdom.

Under such blatant provocations, the Elf Deity System remained silent.

The Dwarf Deity System intended to stay a bit longer, but they sensed the human pantheon glaring at them predatorily.

It was clear that elves weren’t baiting, and humans were losing patience.

To the human pantheon, eliminating any dwarf deity, big or small, was good.

If a real battle broke out, the Sun God, the Goddess of the Silvermoon, and the Sea God would likely choose to forsake the Moon Tree to first help the humans annihilate the dwarves.

Elves were merely enemies, but the dwarves were mortal foes of all native deities.

Hill quietly landed on the ground, the Moon Elves had all gone to Agleya’s Divine Kingdom.

He smiled softly; if it were the original Moon Elves, some would have chosen to wander the starry sky themselves.

Those Moon Elves were born with a rebellious streak.

Like the Goddess of the Hunt, who, although knowing that the Moon Goddess created her and everything the Moon Elves had came from the Main God, felt an innate hostility towards the moon.

She didn’t want an inherent leader above her; she wanted praise, not commands.

The Moon Elves, born with chaos, could never form a unified force; their only powerful leader, lacking both intelligence and social skills, was shamefully outclassed by the Elf God King.

In the end, the elves consigned them to history.

However, this new batch of Moon Elves, grown by Hill, were distinctly orderly and rational.

Understanding that Hill wanted them to enter Agleya’s divine kingdom for their benefit, they all complied without anyone pursuing complete freedom.

The chaos system either produced highly powerful individuals or tribes where only the leader had intelligence.

Once the leader lost their head, the tribe naturally headed towards extinction.

Elves also belonged to the chaos system, making the Forest of the Elves so convoluted that no one could comprehend it, but at critical moments, they genuinely listened to the Elf God King.

The Elf God King might not have the skill to command all elves, but his father could.

And there was a difference between low intelligence and having none at all.

Hill pondered the differences between the past and the new Moon Elves as he strolled through the grasslands.

Too many eyes were on him.

Even deities curiously observed him, wanting to know where he was hiding.

However, knowing the Moon Elves were about to be born, he had already packed up everything, ready to stay in Central City on a whim.

Hill would not expose the place he had prepared for the Earth Bear.
