Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 434: Chapter 233: Reluctantly Avoiding! The Establishment of the Half-Elf Kingdom!

Hill leisurely sat on the deck, watching the scenery.

The white cloud he followed drifted aimlessly, circling around the Triangle Zone at a seemingly slow, yet brisk pace.

Each day, Hill watched the Undead Tribe below digging tunnels.

He saw many families that originally belonged to the Dwarf Kingdom. After all, the two batches of newly arrived undead were of lower levels and couldn’t contend with these high-level demons.

Although not every place had demons, once they encountered them, it was inevitably a powerful being beyond the realm of legends.

Even if they weren’t demigods, the undead had to sacrifice thousands of lives just to hold these demons at bay.

Thankfully, they carried Holy Water and a peculiar golden scroll with them, or it would have been much worse.

Hill knew that these scrolls were the only ones capable of holding divine magic, made from the petals and leaves of Sunflowers.

William had already directly passed the crafting method to him.

Hill looked at the blank golden scroll on his desk.

Even though he knew the crafting method, it still took him three days to learn how to make them.

Writing divine magic on the scrolls, however, was quite easy for Hill.

He picked up the pen and tested the writing.

The first divine spell, of course, was the Water of Tranquility.

If this spell could be inscribed onto the scrolls, Hill would profit greatly.

But after copying it once, Hill realized that the world wasn’t so generous; he could only transcribe it once a day, whether it succeeded or failed.

Agleya, though, wasn’t interested in these scrolls, so whenever Hill got busy, she would disappear to play with the Snow Old Dog.

Her creativity had been growing stronger these days.

Hill thought he should give Snow Cloud Peak a big red envelope when it was all over. The Little Sea God was someone who didn’t know restraint, and Snow Cloud Peak was finding it hard to run out of the illusion array within an hour.

But Agleya still didn’t know the flaws in her formation, relying solely on brute force. Snow Cloud Peak might struggle inside for a longer time, but it would eventually reach the exit.

Hill had figured it out from the undead’s conversations. But he wouldn’t say anything.

Smiling, he continued to inscribe divine spells.

Among Hill’s skills, there were quite a few divine spells, especially Water Element and Wood Element.

However, leisurely days were always short-lived. Hill slowly put down his pen and looked out the window at the vines swaying gracefully in the moonlight.

”Hill! There’s some trouble,” said the Lily of the Valley hanging outside the window, gently passing a golden bell to Hill. Adrian’s voice came out, ”The Half-Elves suddenly announced the establishment of their kingdom. The King is your grandmother! She is now Queen Viola.

I’m not telling you this to make you return to Central City.

Don’t come back at all. Our teacher is very angry right now!

She publicly accused the Half-Elf Legendary Mage Gillenskjaern of being her eternal enemy, for everything her grandson Hill had gone through.

As if no one knows, she wants to contest Gillenskjaern for the position of God of Half-Elves.

Don’t show yourself in public for a while. After she ascended to the throne, the queen sent a messenger to Central City, and when paying respects to His Majesty the King, she directly stated that you are now the queen’s only direct descendant.

They even want His Majesty’s help in locating you, hoping to invite you to settle in their kingdom.

They think you are nature’s blessing to the Half-Elves, and you should belong to them.

It sounds nice, but it’s all nonsense!

His Majesty the King flat-out refused, telling them to find you on their own, saying you weren’t a Royal Mage of Saral, and he had no authority to ask you to do anything.

Does anyone think we’re fools?

Who doesn’t know their real intention?

If you go to them, Gillenskjaern wouldn’t dare to provoke you for anything.

And for the Elves, managing to bring you from the humans to the Half-Elf Kingdom is a victory.

They might even support her directly becoming a deity!

But now, even if you don’t go, no one will likely mess with her.

She is genuinely related to you by blood, and with the Elven Pantheon’s silence, who would dare to provoke her?

Even if you publicly declare you have no connection to her, what can you do? Are you going to kill your own grandmother to prove it?

This queen only needs outsiders to be wary, and as long as she has enough time to tread the path to godhood, she’ll succeed.

Our teacher is unhappy, but she can’t stop the queen from riding on your coattails.”

Hill clenched the pen in his hand, crushing it into a ball of wet mud.

He finally knew why he couldn’t find peace during this period.

Hill had genuinely forgotten about his ambitious grandmother.

Viola didn’t leave as deep an impression on him as Manton did.

Adrian continued, ”When His Majesty the King summoned me, he mentioned that the Emerald Butterfly seeds you gave to Snow Cloud Peak were enough to cover the entire Dwarf Kingdom.

It’s likely a hint for you not to return. Anyway, for the Holy Water needed to expel demons, the undead can fetch it themselves. Just wander around as you wish!

That queen is truly formidable.

It is said that among the Legendary Mages in the Half-Elf Forest outside the Mage Association, half of them abandoned Gillenskjaern to follow your grandmother.

No matter what method she used, even if it hinted at your and our teacher’s identities, it was impressive regardless.

Gillenskjaern had dominated that forest for tens of thousands of years!”

Hill took a long breath, leaned back in his chair, and looked up at the sky.

”Make sure you hide well! Lately, that group of Half-Elves who are guests have been watching me closely! Luckily, the undead come here often, so they don’t dare approach the undead’s territory.

I’ll head back for now. I’ll let you know if there’s any news!”

Adrian’s call ended quickly. Hill leaned on the table, contemplating his next move.

Just as Adrian mentioned, unless Hill went and eliminated this lady, she would continue to exploit him.

Viola dared to act this way, not solely because of their blood relation but also because she knew Hill, aligned with the Kind Alignment, wouldn’t commit patricide.

If she only wanted to use Hill’s name to deter enemies, Hill could only pretend he didn’t know about it.

That’s why Adrian advised him not to show up.

Otherwise, any response Hill made would benefit Viola.

At the very least, Hill could not openly deny their blood relation.

An ice crystal glowed softly: ”Hill’s Dad! Should I go...”

”Just ignore it,” Hill stopped the fierce little girl, ”What she’s saying is true. I am her direct descendant. She merely invited me to reside in her country and nothing more.

On the surface, she hasn’t gone too far and left some room for maneuver.

If I were to confront her, it would seem petty on my part.

Even though she wants to leverage my name, her real target is Agleya!

I don’t wish to say anything, and you shouldn’t take any stand either!

Just don’t respond to anyone’s prayers, understand? Don’t respond to anyone!

Not just those claiming relation to me but also their enemies!

Especially those continually telling you I’m being used! They’re attempting to shift your alignment more than anything else!

You’ve just become a deity; there’s no way you have devout followers!

The more righteous and indignant they sound, the more they seem sympathetic and want to help me by borrowing your power, they’re all enemies!”

Agleya agreed, feeling dejected.

Sure enough, someone had already begun praying to her, hoping for the Sea God’s response.

The faith, once established as a two-way connection, couldn’t be severed even by deities.

Hill frowned: ”Except for the vicinity of Saral, block out your name everywhere else! Do it now, and don’t stay in touch with me! Agleya, don’t make me worry.”

The little girl reluctantly left.

Hill ground his teeth and pounded the table hard several times.

Though he knew keeping silent and hidden was the best solution, he was still furious.

Luckily, he had been drifting on the white cloud all this time, so no one knew where Hill was.

Not even himself.

”Unless it’s someone you know, don’t pass any other messages to me for the time being,” Hill instructed the Lily of the Valley.

While he could pretend he hadn’t heard, there was no need to seek discomfort.

The Lily of the Valley shook its bell, signifying its understanding.

The Windmill Jasmine quietly climbed up the window, and the soothing fragrance slowly wafted into the room.

Hill accepted her goodwill and went straight to bed.

Hill opened his eyes.

Feeling too annoyed, he had drifted into sleep.

Perhaps because of his bear genes, Hill could stay awake for extended periods, but he could also sleep for days, weeks, or even months if he wished.

Originally, he intended to sleep through this troublesome period for a month or two.

But an unusual tremor roused Hill.

He quietly left his room and leaned on the side of the ship, gazing at the ground below that stirred his bloodline.

The white cloud quietly hovered over a deep pit.

It was evident that the undead had dug out a large pit, piling up massive amounts of dirt outside.

Sunflowers danced with the breeze under the sunlight; this pit must have been dug several days before.

Hill suddenly collapsed onto the deck.

Neither Fran nor Viola had ever given him such a strong sense of bloodline connection.

No matter how he tried, he couldn’t deceive himself.

The bear below should have also noticed Hill, right?

He asked the Lily of the Valley sneaking up to him, ”How long have I been sleeping?”

The Lily of the Valley gently bent to show him a three.

Hill turned over. Three days!

He decided to wait a little to see how the Earth Bear would react.

However, he waited from bright daylight to the twilight of the evening, and the bear remained immobile.

Is there a problem?

Hill watched the soft moonlight shine upon the earth, casting light and shadows over the pit below.

And the cloud ship, which had been swaying for so long, suddenly took root and landed.

He activated the cloud ship’s most powerful illusion array, merging the entire vessel into the moonlight, swiftly descending into the deep pit.

The undead, as usual, had dug a kilometer deep.

As Hill reached the bottom, he put away the cloud ship and burrowed straight into the earth at the pit’s base.

With eyes closed, he descended in a straight line, finding the bear buried tens of thousands of meters below.
