Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 404: Chapter 203: Majestic Castle, A Secret Legendary

Hill flew in the sky, looking at this majestic building.

The huge fortress stood tall and sturdy, reaching a height of five hundred meters, giving a sense of exceptionally powerful oppression.

No wonder Fran’s original blueprints contained many designs for the outer periphery of the castle.

He had set up a very large area of gentle and beautiful green spaces between the castle and the outer city, with scattered fountains and meandering streams.

Without any ornamentation, Hill, watching from a distance, only sensed a shadow of blades and blood.

Still, Hill went inside, intending to take a look before this city was completely turned into a fortress of war.

The castle’s gates had not yet been installed, quietly leaning to one side.

At this thirty-meter-high entrance, they planned to install three gates.

Hill knew that at both ends of this passage, there lay a Dragon Breaking Stone.

He didn’t know if this was William’s idea, but the walls on both sides of the passage were filled with trap arrays.

It seemed that William was very accustomed to using strategies like catching a turtle in a jar.

Hill walked slowly.

The outer wall he entered should be three hundred meters thick.

Even now, before William had used divine power to expand the space, the current human population would probably not fill up Saral’s army.

Hill felt that unless the elves also disappeared, even if the people from the world of the Undead Tribe lost their interest in this game, William and the God of Time and Space would probably look for people from other worlds to enter.

Until one day, humanity’s own armies could fill this castle.

This outer ring of the castle was built according to the Magic Tower configuration.

In reality, it should be seven high-level magic towers connected by passageways with barracks.

He turned his head and could see the circular contours of the two magic towers on the side of the city gate.

Even if the elves were temporarily safe, the heptagon castle chosen by William and Fran still took into account the enemies on both sides.

Directly ahead of him, at the very southern end of the whole castle, was the Legendary Magic Tower that would eventually lead all the high-level Magic Towers.

Hill quietly bowed his head, sensing that a legendary mage had already taken up residence.

He wondered which one it was; would they be stationed in Central City indefinitely?

Hill looked up at the sky above, knowing that if the castle were attacked, it would extend a canopy to close together.

Fran used the hardest and most flexible materials, so even if the defensive magic array were broken, it could hold on for a while.

Enough time for the people inside the castle to retreat underground.

The only large green space in the castle was around the floating stairway in the middle.

Outside the green space, the First Ring was divided into four areas. The two larger areas were the Space-Time Church’s Sub Temple and the Lord’s Mansion.

The smaller two areas included a structure serving the Undead Tribe, an auction house and a mission hall.

The other was for adventurers from this world, an adventurers’ inn.

This was the first time Saral openly welcomed adventurers from the outside world.

It also clearly indicated that the missions received by the Undead Tribe and the adventurers from this world were completely different, with no competitive overlap.

No need for hostility between them, just do their respective tasks.

Further out, there were probably residential and commercial areas, but there were no buildings yet, just large open spaces.

Hill stood in the middle, looking around.

He quickly decided to hurry and help Fran finish the small park.

William’s concept was very comprehensive, but this fortress had really become a purely metal city.

It was impressive, but ugly.

Especially since many buildings inside the Inner City were still unfinished, it looked like a city of tin.

Hill nearly used the fastest speed to add over ten small parks up and down the fortress.

Fran then placed flower beds in every corner where soil could be laid.

Soon, in Hill’s Nature’s Blessing, the green spaces and flower beds were all abloom with clumps of stars, white, purple, and blue flowers, gentle and romantic and full of fragrance.

It not only neutralized the somber atmosphere of the silver-grey castle but also made the whole castle’s color tone more harmonious.

Sometimes William was quite considerate; the Temple of Time and Space beside the central floating stairway had not been erected.

Not until Hill and Fran had finished all the magic arrays and green spaces inside the castle and walked out did he release his divine power.

A silver-black light flickered for a long time.

The Space-Time Church’s Sub Temple was finally constructed.

Hill followed Fran, flying far in the sky and looking down.

”Will this teleportation array outside be kept?” Hill saw that in the original camp, the Undead Tribe was still teleporting.

”His Majesty the King believes that probably many people are not very willing to appear directly in this castle,” Fran said with a faint smile. ”Other than Legendary figures, if they want to come from Saral’s side, they can only teleport, right? Of course, those who are still willing to make the long journey, that’s fine too.”

”Which Legendary figure is it? Mr. Obastian from that side?” Hill asked quietly.

”Do you feel it?” Fran turned his head and glanced at Hill, ”Indeed, a Nature Warlock is more sensitive.

The laws of that person are interesting; they’re quite difficult for me to detect when deliberately hidden.”

Hill knew it could only be this person.

William would never just hand over such a formidable castle to anyone.

Even to Fran, it would not be possible.

Trust is not so easily given.

Only Greel Holmes, who has been in Obastian since the founding of the kingdom and is inseparable from the Saral Royal Family, is the Legendary Mage that William could truly entrust with this task.

In Saral, at the time of its establishment, the massive Gold Element Crystal Mine was secured not because Miller and his people were good people.

But because His Majesty the King has a Legendary Mage as a cousin.

When he came out to establish the kingdom with his cousin, it was said he was still an Archmage.

Only after struggling for many years alongside the first King Saral did he become a Magister.

But after gaining control of the mine, he quickly became a Legendary Mage.

Many believe that the Magical Beast guarding the mine must have been in its twilight years, otherwise, it couldn’t have been killed by a Magister leading a few Sky Knights.

The treasures of the Magical Beast were a windfall for these few individuals.

This is the reason why Holmes became a Legendary Mage.

Although he is not a multi-system Legendary Laws mage, the artifact allowed him to connect to very unique laws.

Even the Mage Association prefers not to provoke Holmes.

Just that this legend really dislikes meeting people.

William himself has rarely seen him.

Neither Haifasardo nor Cortez dare to stretch their claws into Saral even for a centimeter, relying on the Noble Church.

They may share a bloodline with the Saral Royal Family, but not with this Legendary Mage.

Regardless of what happens in Saral, the ones who publicly appear are those two Legendary Knights, but Holmes is the true backbone of the Saral Royal Family.

Holmes never interferes with the Royal Family’s internal strife because no matter the struggle, they are all his cousin’s bloodline.

Had Edward not been foolish enough to cooperate with the Noble Church, allowing his son to receive Divine Grace from the church, William would not have ascended the throne so easily.

At that time, the God of Time and Space had not yet ascended to the Divine Throne, and Holmes, who had spent thousands of years in the Legendary Magic Tower in Obastian, still had the power to resist.

Holmes probably observed for a long time and only reluctantly chose William, representative of half of Saral, because Edward and Charles were unbelievably stupid.

After all, among the Gods of Time and Space, there still exists Young William of the Saral Family!

The combined weight of these two Williams was enough for Holmes to make his choice.

Moreover, if Saral had to be governed by deities, any sane Mage would prefer the God of Time and Space over the God of Nobility.

No Mage, even from the Evil Faction, would wish to live under the dominion of the God of Nobility.

Compared to having to follow William’s many rules, Mages would least of all wish to squat in a place where one can’t even speak freely.

Even if he were initially undecided, by the time Miller and Carl had both prostrated themselves before the God of Time and Space, Holmes stopped resisting.

He simply began to protect the remnants of the Saral Royal Family.

Otherwise, William would have cleared out Obastian long ago and wouldn’t have waited for that Duke to cause trouble.

With all the money William had distributed, even Holmes wouldn’t protect such a foolish individual.

What he wanted was his cousin’s bloodline; he didn’t care which specific person it was.

”Why is he willing to come out this time? Isn’t he always staying in Obastian, fearing that His Majesty the King might completely exterminate the Saral Royal Family members?” Hill was somewhat curious.

Is this an indication that William will not harm the innocent members of the Saral Royal Family?

”That mine no longer needs guarding. The Gods of Time and Space lack nothing, least of all Crystal Stones. His Majesty the King even sent him several storage rings full of various Crystal Stones,” said Fran with a sneer, ”Especially now, His Majesty the King clearly doesn’t intend to continue his bloodline.

Those members of the Saral Royal Family won’t be in any danger as long as they don’t cause trouble.

Plus, if he stayed in Obastian, who knows what trouble that bunch of fools from the Saral Royal Family might stir up.

Even if His Majesty the King doesn’t have offspring, who knows how many more years he will remain in this world! Why the rush to choose a successor now? What would the successor do once chosen?

Who will ascend first to the starry realms, His Majesty the King or the chosen heir?”

Hill blinked, aware that ’ascending’ in this world meant rising into the stars, not meeting ancestors as in his old world, yet he almost laughed.

This Mage

Glancing toward the direction of the castle, Fran saw Adrian with the Undead Tribe, finishing up their last tasks.

”My work here is done. I plan to return,” he looked at Hill, ”What about you? Won’t you come back with me?”

”I don’t plan to go back,” Hill replied with a smile, ”I feel there’s still much to see, so I want to keep watching.”

And there was Alice. Hill knew she probably wouldn’t be in any danger, but still, he wanted to stay close and protect her for a while.

”Then don’t stay inside the castle,” Fran cautioned, turning back to the castle, ”The people from the Mage Association and the Sorcerer Tower are keeping their distance as well.”

Hill nodded firmly: ”Once my maternal grandfather returns, I’ll activate the Illusion Array and hide in the clouds, seldom coming out.”
