Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 441: Chapter 240: Decisive and Resolute, Queen Viola’s Path to Godhood Begins

Hill leaned his chin on his hand and wondered maliciously: Did Fran know that Viola might already be a demigod?

This lady couldn’t be Fran’s peer, everyone knew that in their hearts. After all, half-elves took a hundred and twenty years to mature, and one needed to be at least two hundred years old to go out and travel.

Fran understood this and certainly didn’t mind.

Viola had more elven blood, so even at two hundred, her mental age should not be much different from Fran’s.

But if Viola was already a demigod!

Hill pondered for a moment, according to his inherited memory, the youngest half-elf demigod before was 600 years old.

Even if Viola had exceptional talents, she should be at least 500 years old, right?

Fran was much smarter than Hill; he must have sensed something that Hill only just figured out now.

No wonder Fran had cut off all contact recently, even Hill couldn’t reach him directly.

Viola would definitely make a move; Gillenskjaern was actually quite influential among half-elves, and tens of thousands of years ago, he was the only half-elf who had become a legendary mage.

Because of him, half-elves began to be taken seriously, so even though more legendary half-elves appeared later, Gillenskjaern’s status remained high.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have believed he could easily gain recognition to become the God of Half-Elves.

If Viola was really already a demigod, as long as she eliminated Gillenskjaern, she would become the only faith of half-elves, possibly even gaining divinity directly when ascending the throne.

Just like William, possessing most of the powers of a deity but still able to remain on earth without igniting divine fire.

However, William had enough confidence that he wouldn’t be killed, or even if he died, the God of Time and Space could bring him back to the Divine Kingdom. But could Viola have such confidence?

Hill didn’t believe it.

The druid demigod she relied on wasn’t a welcome presence in the Elf Deity System.

”Hill, William has emerged,” Adrian said in surprise. ”He’s flying in mid-air, looking over there continuously. What’s going on? Wait, why are they all coming out? What exactly is happening over there?”

Everyone seemed to think that Viola was about to directly condense her divinity.

Hill stood up but then sat back down.

Clicking his tongue, he thought: His curiosity was indeed his enemy, making him feel like he had hundreds of little claws scratching inside him.

”Hill, I’m going over there to check it out first, they seem to be discussing something!” Adrian hurriedly said. ”I’ll come back and tell you later.”

Hill smiled helplessly: He hoped they wouldn’t be discussing Viola’s age or whether Fran gained or lost.

Hill leaned back in his chair, recalling how in those novels, many humans proudly took hundreds or thousands of years-old elf queens as lovers, so many people wouldn’t care about such things.

Moreover, the age of elves was calculated differently.

Most people only cared if one was beautiful and cute, without worrying about age.

To divert his attention, Hill took out a blueprint and quietly traced the modifications for the magic array.

Later, he could add it to the Cloud House, so he wouldn’t have to worry about the elemental fluctuations being detected while flying in the clouds.

Accompanied by the occasional roar from Lily of the Valley, Hill immersed himself in drawing the blueprint.

”Hill’s Dad!” Agleya’s voice awakened Hill from his intense drawing session; he had gained more ideas and modified several blueprints.

”What happened?” Hill put down his pen and patiently asked the teasing little sea god.

”That woman is already a demigod! That blue-haired one tried to ambush her and got killed instantly! She’s really ruthless~” Agleya remarked. ”She should be ready to ascend to godhood. I heard she has some blood relation with Hill’s Dad, how should I treat her?”

”Ignore her. She belongs to the Elf Deity System,” Hill said indifferently. ”That little blood relation was severed long ago. She completely abandoned my mother back then, that was an oath witnessed by the World Will, so I have no relation with her at all.

To me, she holds no significance, just trouble.”

”Alright! Got it!” Agleya paused and then asked, ”Is Hill’s Dad still underground? I can’t pinpoint the exact location, even the little ice crystals can’t give me feedback.

So Hill’s Dad must be careful, don’t let anyone know your location! Not even that cat, she might blurt it out to the leopard.”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh: ”Don’t worry, I won’t say a word.”

Agleya muttered a few more words before cutting off the conversation, as she still had more fun to watch over there.

Hill walked to the deck, moved his fingers slightly, and summoned a gentle breeze.

Hill couldn’t help but sigh for Gillenskjaern, who had struggled for life for so long but ended up in such a fate.

Hill wondered if he would also resort to such extreme measures and end up dying absurdly if, at the end of his life, he didn’t have so many contingency plans.

Gillenskjaern had once been a renowned and powerful legendary mage on this land! Even the Mage Association was established with his help.

After endless struggles and refusals to accept fate, he met such an end.

Hill wouldn’t feel sorrowful for Gillenskjaern’s death; no matter how few grievances they had, he was still an enemy.

But there was always a sigh for the merciless fate.

”Hill!” After some unknown time, Adrian’s voice rang out again.

Hill returned to the study.

”Gillenskjaern is dead.” Adrian’s voice was a bit sorrowful. ”Queen Viola is a demigod, no one knew. Gillenskjaern tried to ambush her, but was killed instead.

Even though he wasn’t a legendary law user, he wasn’t weak. He had many demi-god artifacts on him, but unexpectedly, he faced a demigod instead of a legendary one and was killed instantly.

Hill, he died too easily, it really scared me.

Our teacher once said, always use full force against any enemy. I always followed that, but I still doubted it sometimes.

But now, seeing Gillenskjaern die like this!

Do you know? When I saw him fall directly, I felt scared!

I’ll definitely remember everything I saw today!

From now on, no matter what kind of enemy it is, I will do my best to defend and kill! I will never be as careless as him!

The expressions on the faces of the mages around me were terrible, all felt like they had been slapped in the face.

Gillenskjaern was always so proud, and ultimately his pride killed him.”

Adrian rambled incoherently for a while, ending with a long sigh.

Both of them were silent for a while; few would mourn Gillenskjaern’s death, but the manner of his death made every mage uncomfortable.

”Hill, Queen Viola is a demigod! Did you know?” Adrian’s melancholy quickly passed.

Although he knew Adrian couldn’t hear him, Hill still answered, ”I didn’t know. As for whether Grandfather knew, I have no idea! You might as well ask.”

”I also wonder if our teacher knew.” Adrian mumbled, ”Do you think I could ask him?”

”Go ahead! And let me see what happens to you! I’m quite curious too!” Hill thought, feeling it was good that Adrian couldn’t hear him.

”Strange, why are they still fighting after Gillenskjaern is dead?” Adrian’s voice was filled with confusion, ”A man and a woman, could it be an ex-couple getting revenge?”

Hill suddenly looked up: Could it be the elf royalty who deceived the daughter of the Earth Bear?

But didn’t he remember Gillenskjaern was involved with a legendary or demigod Moon Elf who was to become the Lord of the Moon Elves?

Why was it an elf royal family demigod who came out to make a stand?

Hill quickly brainstormed, calculating the relationship map in his mind, then thought of the elf goddess who wanted to intervene and couldn’t help but chuckle.

When the elves’ relationships became chaotic, nine times out of ten, it involved romantic entanglements.

”Viola has ascended.” Adrian suddenly said, ”She chose the strongest moment of the sun, ignoring the two still fighting over there.”

Hill shook his head, thinking she was a woman like Empress Wu, a natural-born queen.

After a few minutes, Adrian suddenly cursed: ”Damn it!”

”Hill!” His voice was severe, ”Queen Viola is standing in the air, asking if you’re willing to become her first heir.

If you appear before her now, no matter if she has other children in the future, your position won’t waver. She knows you must be in the Triangle Zone, and gives you only 10 minutes.

Such cunning, if you were really tempted and rushed over, who would respect you! Thankfully, you have no craving for power! Otherwise, you’d be played for a fool!

Let her stand there!”

Hill shook his head, at least Viola showed she valued Hill; even if he regretted it later, she could justifiably say Hill gave it up.

”Well then!” Adrian’s voice was stiff, ”Time’s up. She announced, since there’s no direct heir, she’ll choose a king’s consort! Legendary half-elves and above interested can approach her directly.

How to approach?

She really takes after her mother, Melanie!

Indeed, daughters are most like their moms?

Good thing our teacher has no feelings for her at all now, otherwise, this would be really embarrassing.”

Hill thought Adrian was using noble logic again.

Powerful female mages tend not to lack lovers, and this queen was more open about it.

Fran wouldn’t care what an ex-lover did.

Today’s events could be put to rest.

The two yet to decide victory would surely be stopped by a demi-god from the Forest of the Elves.

As for Viola, after Hill didn’t appear, their relationship was over and they were now strangers.

Hill walked into the bathroom, ready to have a bath and a good sleep.

Next time Aurelio came, he would let him inform his ancestor. His foolish daughter was indeed deceived but was strong and lively.
