Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Therefore, his idea is to conduct another round of offline interviews, but how to carry out this round of offline interviews, in what form, and what content to test, he still has no preliminary ideas.

First, Li Younan needs to determine if the core motivation of these four people leaving their own ship to join his ship is genuine.

Zhao Meng’s core motivation is to escape the high-pressure cargo transport cycle and focus on technology itself. He believes that the travel itinerary of travel bloggers is flexible, with longer port stays, allowing him to balance work and family reunions, while also taking the opportunity to see the world outside of cargo routes.

Meanwhile, Lin Xiaowen is the youngest chief engineer among them, and his reason is quite frivolous. He hopes to use Li Younan’s influence to educate the public about environmental technologies on ordinary ships and to break the stereotype that a chief engineer is just someone who fixes machines.

Among these people, Li Younan is most convinced by Wang Haitao, the chief engineer of the special engineering ship.

Because special engineering ships are mostly project-based, he frequently changes ships with different projects, which results in a lack of team belonging.

Following Li Younan would require a long-term fixed maintenance team, allowing him to obtain a long-term stable job and leverage his cross-disciplinary advantages.

And among these four people, what intrigues Li Younan the most is the motivation of Chen Tiefeng, the chief engineer of the research vessel.

He is considered an institutionalized chief engineer, and his motivation is related to a ship.

In the interview, Chen Tiefeng gave an impression of being quite honest. He has a deep affection for a research vessel and doesn’t want it to be idly auctioned. He hopes Li Younan can use his identity as a blogger to let this ship continue its value in another form.

Additionally, he is also tired of the rigid rhythm of institutionalized scientific research tasks and wants to seek a different life.

If Chen Tiefeng’s motivation is genuine, then if Li Younan wants to recruit him, a prerequisite would be to buy that ship, which opens up a new perspective for him.

Before this, he always considered building his own yacht and never thought of buying a second-hand ship. The core reason being the condition of a second-hand ship is hard to control, since the ones put up for sale are usually at least ten to twenty years old.

Although they were built to higher standards than ordinary civilian ships at the time, who knows the current condition of a ship after such long-term voyaging at sea?

Moreover, one important reason Li Younan hopes to build a ship is because from the start of the manufacturing process, the entire structure of the ship, all pipeline arrangements, and the layout of the power system are clearly visible, making it easier to troubleshoot any faults.

If buying a second-hand ship, it would be difficult to inspect thoroughly without someone who has been involved in the entire process, and these are unnecessary costs.

Additionally, a second-hand ship that is bought will still need renovations. During the renovation process, it is still necessary to understand the underlying structure of the ship. For instance, which lines can be moved, which cannot? Which structural steel positions are stronger? Which parts can be dismantled, and which must remain to facilitate renovations...

And obtaining such data for an old ship isn’t easy, especially since the crew may have changed many times.

But Chen Tiefeng’s appearance gives Li Younan a refreshing feeling. If what Chen Tiefeng says is true, it’s worth giving it a try.

However, before that, Li Younan needs to ensure that these four people are up to standard.

Therefore, Li Younan’s idea is to design a set of practical simulation assessments himself to test the business level of these four people on-site.
