Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

”You want to build a boat yourself, huh, do you know what the general process of building a boat is like?”

Gao Tiande leaned back in his deck chair, asking somewhat casually.

Li Younan furrowed his brow slightly and shook his head honestly: ”I have such a plan, but I haven’t looked into it in detail yet.” But then he smiled somewhat easily, ”But no matter what, you solve whatever difficulty you encounter; things are always done by people.”

Gao Tiande burst into laughter and nodded approvingly: ”Young man, I appreciate this quality of yours.”

”Indeed, no matter how troublesome something seems, you must first go ahead and do it, and you’ll always find a way to solve the problem.”

”Many people, even before they start something, they first consider how difficult it is, wondering what problems and troubles they’ll encounter, and after some fuss, they don’t even have the courage to start.”

Gao Tiande knew very well that although Li Younan seemed to have no concept of shipbuilding, he might be more likely to produce a decent boat than those who understand the details well before even starting.

But since the topic had already reached this point, Li Younan simply asked, ”It sounds like you know a lot about shipbuilding.”

Gao Tiande chuckled, ”I work in finance, so my main business has nothing to do with shipbuilding, but I do indeed have some understanding of it.”

”My friends and some clients, many of them are high-net-worth individuals, for whom owning a yacht is a standard asset.”

”I have some understanding of yacht financing, leasing, and overseas asset allocation, plus I previously led a joint project with a yacht factory, so I’m quite familiar with the manufacturer’s capacity, core team, and some policies.”

Saying this, Gao Tiande paused before lightly exhaling four words, ”very clear.”

While speaking, Gao Tiande took out his phone: ”But I have never used customer resources for personal matters, I have always adhered to the professional rule of not interfering in customer operations, but...” he looked at Li Younan, ”I’m willing to make an exception for you.”

Li Younan hesitated for a moment, and seeing his expression, Gao Tiande shook his head and continued, ”Of course, I believe with your ability and the resources you currently have, even without my help, you can certainly build this boat, but it will be very troublesome.”

After saying this, Gao Tiande put the phone back on the table, briefly organized his thoughts, and said, ”In China, the core steps to independently build a boat can roughly be divided into four steps.”

”First is regulatory approval; you must first clarify your ship type, generally divided into cargo ship, yacht, fishing boat, and the corresponding parameters and uses, and apply to the Maritime Bureau for shipbuilding approval.”

”This process requires you to provide a lot of information, and inexperienced people will get stuck on this step for a long time; you’ll need to deal with many units.”

”Oh right...” Gao Tiande chuckled again, ”Also, I suppose you want to build this boat not just to sail domestically, right?”

Li Younan hesitated for a moment and nodded: ”If I could sail around the world, that would certainly be ideal.”

”Yes, since it involves going abroad, the documentation involved will be even more complex.”

Gao Tiande continued, ”And that’s just the first step. Next, you need to assemble a professional team to design the entire boat.”

”Shipbuilding adheres to strict standards; it’s not something where you can simply let your imagination run wild.”

”I noticed you seem to have engineering skills related to electronics, but designing a boat can’t be done by just one person.”

”If your standards for the boat are high enough, there will be hundreds of blueprints, and each blueprint and each step needs to be approved by a ship inspection authority.”

”Once you’ve completed the first two steps, you can formally begin yacht manufacturing.”

”At this stage, you need to choose a compliant shipyard to contract the production of this boat... You’re not going to build a shipyard yourself just for one boat, are you?”

”Next, you still need to procure the core equipment and materials and officially start manufacturing.”

”Lastly, the completed boat needs to be test-sailed in designated waters, and you then need to submit a lot of documentation to the inspection authority to smoothly pass the acceptance of the ship inspection agency and receive the dual certifications for legal navigation.”

After hearing Gao Tiande explain the shipbuilding process, Li Younan blinked and smiled wryly, looking at the river water, ”I didn’t know building a boat was this troublesome.”

”Hahaha, so, do you still want to build a boat?”

”Although it’s quite troublesome, I still want to give it a try.”

Gao Tiande nodded, thought seriously for a moment, and then said, ”Since you’ve made up your mind, I believe you’ll certainly succeed.”

”Hehe, don’t blame me for the advice, as someone who’s been there, I have some experience that might serve you as a reference.”

Li Younan immediately responded solemnly, ”Sir, you’re too modest, I can’t thank you enough for giving me this advice!”

Gao Tiande nodded and said, ”Since your idea is to build a boat yourself, and not to buy a ready-made yacht, then my suggestion is, before shipbuilding, you first need to assemble a crew.”

Li Younan thought for a moment, ”Do you mean the shipbuilding team?”

Gao Tiande shook his head, ”No, not the shipbuilding team, but your crew.”

”Imagine, you’re now Luffy...”

”Ha, sir, you also watch One Piece?”
