Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Then he looked at Li Younan and said, ”Li Younan, are you planning to make a rapid descent along the connecting line between the snow gully and the Japanese snow gully?”

Li Younan nodded.

Tom couldn’t help but ask, ”Are you ready?”

Li Younan flashed a confident smile, ”Absolutely.”

At this point, Tom continued to analyze for the live broadcast audience, ”For those friends who are not familiar with Mount Everest, I must seriously explain how challenging the route chosen by Li Younan is.”

”In fact, so far, no one has been able to ski down from here.”

”Although currently, the route covered in the most consistent and thick snow is this one, the slope throughout exceeds 50 degrees, with some areas even approaching over 70 degrees of steepness - my goodness, I can’t even call such a slope a slope; it’s clearly a wall.”

”Moreover, this is a route that can directly ski from the 8,848-meter altitude peak top straight down to the Rongbuk Glacier, with a vertical drop of nearly 3,700 meters.”

”Once skiing starts, it’s hard to control the speed, and the rapid descent from the high-altitude area is a hugely exaggerated test of the skier’s physical fitness.”

It is at this moment that the skiing expert Berich chimed in, ”What’s more important is that Li Younan has chosen to snowboard.”

”In any mountaineering ski descent project, snowboarding for the skier is a near-death experience.”

The host was a bit taken aback and couldn’t help but ask, ”Why is that? Apologies, I don’t ski.”

Berich shrugged and smiled, ”The difficulty of two-board descent is naturally lower because the separated design of the two boards can brake through a wedge shape, fine-tune sliding posture laterally, and control speed evenly; simply put, it can decelerate quickly, and if faced with a sudden cliff, it can be stopped.”

”But snowboarding is different; lateral movement flexibility is severely limited, and it relies heavily on carving techniques. Coordinated full-body exertion is required to adjust standing position, balance, control, and turning.”

”And to ascend Mount Everest in a high-altitude hypoxic environment, the body’s functions are already at the limit, so to control the body with such high intensity, I simply can’t imagine.”

The host couldn’t help but ask, ”Is snowboarding really that difficult?”

Berich nodded earnestly, ”Honestly, I find the decision to snowboard rapidly down Mount Everest insanely daring; historically, people have indeed snowboarded down Everest before, like Marco Siffredi.”

”He attempted it in 2002, but regrettably, he fell and perished, his body still hasn’t been found... Of course, I admire everyone who dares to challenge the limits. So, good luck, Li Younan.”

After listening to the analysis from the two experts, the host took a deep breath, lowered his tone, and slowly said, ”As the snow blade slices through the frigid north face of Mount Everest, as the snowboard bears humanity’s question to the extreme, Li Younan is about to embark on the 3,700-meter drop of Hornbain and the Japanese snow gully; this in itself is a molten annotation of courage.”

Then the host looked at the screen displaying Li Younan, ”Younan, we admire you, and we believe your challenge is not recklessly ventured but a two-way casting of top-notch skill and a fearless spirit; it’s humanity’s intrepid answer handed over to nature’s limits.”

The atmosphere in the live broadcast room had reached its peak, viewers began to flood in with encouraging words, and behind Li Younan, those climbers witnessing the moment live were similarly holding their phones, trying to capture this historic moment.

The host’s tone grew more passionate, ”Younan, may your every carve be as precise as a blade, every turn as stable as a rock. Let Mount Everest’s wind and snow pave your way, let the stars bear witness to you, whether the finish line crowns you with glory or returns you safely, you shall be remembered as a hero in the history of human mountaineering.”

”Charge ahead!”

Li Younan thought that the host’s eloquence was indeed impressive.

He stood up easily, stretched lazily, and yawned, then spoke slowly, ”Everyone, don’t be so serious, the time spent on Everest is too long, the altitude here is a bit high, I’d prefer to come down early, so, see you below.”

Meanwhile, the industrial-grade drone dispatched by Red Bull had already taken off from the base camp and arrived above the line Li Younan was about to ski and locked its high-magnification camera onto Li Younan.

Li Younan also equipped the panoramic camera, and the first-person camera was turned on simultaneously.

Li Younan stepped onto the snowboard, moved to the edge of the starting point; his silhouette looked so small between heaven and earth.

Everyone, both at the scene and in the live broadcast room, held their breath.

Li Younan’s rear foot had already sunk into the snow, the front end of the snowboard was tipped up high; he only needed to shift his weight forward, and he’d be setting off.

At this moment, he suddenly turned back to look at the Sherpa who was the first to come to the peak of Mount Everest and smoke, and he said, ”Oh right, brother.”

The Sherpa was taken aback, ”What?”

”Smoking at Mount Everest’s summit is really bad for your health.”

Everyone was caught off guard, and the serious atmosphere vanished.

Li Younan burst into laughter, and before everyone could react, he shifted his front foot, and glided down the snowy slope.

As he slid down, all the witnesses at the peak gathered at the edge, pointed their cameras at Li Younan as he descended, only to see the snow mist rise, and soon his figure vanished from view.
