Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

After a day of indecision, Brother Long finally changed the owl’s name back to Tuantuan.

Indeed, cute girls are notoriously difficult when it comes to such things, especially innocent cute girls.

They may not care about reality, or your income, willing to be an idealistic magical girl for you, and even sometimes fantasize about their favorite boy in danger—like being shot by an assassin, then she would jump in front of him, sacrificing her life, dying in his arms, and moving herself to tears.

Her thoughts are pure, her body is pure, and her love is pure, but, but... she would be endlessly conflicted over naming an owl.

Li Younan naturally didn’t care about trivial matters like these and said helplessly, ”Why don’t you just ask it.”

Liu Li’s eyes lit up and said, ”That’s a great idea.”

She then squatted in front of the owl and asked, ”Do you like the name Tuantuan or An’an more?”

The owl blinked and tilted its head to look at her.

Liu Li said ”Tuantuan,” and the owl silently turned away.

Liu Li moved to its front again and said ”An’an,” this time the owl didn’t move.

Liu Li stood up and said, ”Alright, go back to being called Tuantuan. I know you definitely prefer Tuantuan.”

Li Younan: ”...”

Brother Long finished speaking and patted the owl’s head.

This was a small episode that happened in the morning.

After some shopping in the county to replenish all the supplies, Li Younan went to a nearby repair shop to buy two parts, replacing some worn-out components from the journey.

This already kept them busy until noon, so they didn’t have time to cook. Bringing Liu Li, they found a nearby restaurant to eat.

While eating, two policemen sat at the table next to them.

As soon as they sat down and ordered food, they started complaining a bit.

”Really, such carelessness, this means another wasted holiday in the past two days.”

”I wonder if they can find it, there’s no clue at all.”

”Did the thief grow wings and fly away?”

Hearing the two’s conversation, Li Younan remembered the strict checks on people and vehicles at the checkpoint today. He realized that something important must have been lost in the county.

Many thoughts flashed through Li Younan’s mind for a moment.

But the two policemen didn’t continue the topic and switched to talking about something else.

Li Younan didn’t pay much attention to it either; after lunch, he returned to the car, took a nap, and planned to set off again.

Gongbujiangda is known as China’s little Switzerland. Of course, there are many places with this title, but it has to be said that Gongbujiangda in Linzhi truly has this charm—meadows, forests, and distant snowy mountains with distinct colors, offering scenes reminiscent of the beautiful opening of The Lord of the Rings.

It must be said, upon arriving here, Li Younan felt that Tibet is indeed vast.

Keep in mind that this place is divided into only 6 city-level regions, and each area has its unique characteristics.

So far, they were only in the second city-level region, Linzhi, whose main feature is its low altitude, almost like the Jiangnan of the Tibetan Area.

The car left the county and continued to the next destination.

Liu Li, sitting in the passenger seat, was dozing off since they would be on the road again.

Li Younan drank a cup of coffee to stay awake. After turning a corner, he saw seven or eight cars stopped ahead, seemingly blocked.

He parked his car behind the last one, and because his car was tall, he could see over the car tops to understand the situation—it wasn’t blocked; a police cordon was set up ahead, and some policemen were investigating something.

A black SUV was parked at the entrance of a roadside restaurant, and all the police activities seemed centered around the SUV and the restaurant: one policeman was marking distances on the ground with chalk, another was taking notes in a notebook, and the restaurant owner was describing something in detail to the police.

Beside the SUV stood a bespectacled middle-aged man and a young man looking a bit troubled.

Suddenly, Li Younan connected it to the conversation he overheard during lunch between the two policemen.

Now, blocked here, tourists from the cars ahead got off and gathered around the police line to ask about the situation.

Li Younan planned to get out and have a look too, and Liu Li, after some thought, followed him.

By the police line, the police were patiently explaining to the stopped tourists: ”We’re handling a case and need to temporarily control traffic in this area. We hope you understand.”

”How long will it take?”

”That’s hard to say at the moment. You could consider taking a detour.”

Soon after, the tourists began to complain.

A middle-aged man who looked like a local was visibly unhappy, and although he didn’t dare to directly argue due to their police status, he still muttered, ”Can’t even look after their belongings, and now they’re affecting us ordinary folk.”

The police frowned and couldn’t help but glance at the bespectacled middle-aged man and the troubled young man nearby.

To be honest, they also felt helpless for such overtime going unappreciated by the public, and naturally, this resentment finally fell upon those two who couldn’t even take care of their things.

Hearing that local middle-aged man’s words, several tourists around became obviously curious and pressed for details.

The middle-aged man, having grievances and seeming to know some inside information, started recounting loudly as if no one was around: ”That professor over there, they couldn’t keep track of their own information, lost it, and now all the county’s police are searching for it!”
