Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

After inspecting the surroundings thoroughly with the drone, there didn’t seem to be any other major risks for the time being.

But troubles kept on coming one after another.

At this moment, it started to snow heavily, and due to the lack of network signal, checking the weather forecast was impossible.

Thinking of this, Li Younan decided to use the car’s onboard radio to connect to outside news.

After all, the radio was a professional high-power car radio, quite different from the little hand-cranked radio in Canada, offering much more operational flexibility.

At this point, Li Younan also realized a problem he hadn’t considered before—if the Starlink system were installed, they could actually connect to the internet even in such places.

This experience taught him a lesson: once he gets out, he should set up a Starlink system in the car.

Fortunately, there was the radio and satellite phone, so they weren’t totally cut off from the outside world.

The urgent task now was still to understand the weather conditions.

He thought for a moment as he sat in the cockpit and took out the satellite phone to call Huang Xiaoyang.

After considering, he definitely couldn’t let his mom know he was trapped by an avalanche, nor could he tell Liu Yu, otherwise she’d definitely worry about her sister.

He’s been in contact with Huang Xiaoyang.

When Huang Xiaoyang answered the call, he sounded a bit indifferent, ”Isn’t this the famous online celebrity? Finally remembered to call me.”

Li Younan said, ”I’m trapped by an avalanche on the Motuo highway.”

Huang Xiaoyang on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment, ”Are you okay?”

”I’m fine, but it’s starting to snow now. Can you help me check the weather here? I can’t connect to the mobile network; I’m contacting you using a satellite phone.”

Huang Xiaoyang swiftly replied, ”Don’t hang up.”

A moment later, Huang Xiaoyang said, ”There’s bad news, the area where you are will have precipitation for the next three days.”

Li Younan gave a wry smile, ”Alright, got it.”

Huang Xiaoyang further asked, ”Is there anything else I can do for you?”

Li Younan thought for a moment, ”Keep this quiet.”

At this point, the snow outside was getting heavier.

What Li Younan worried about most was whether, with the continuing snow, another layer of snow would accumulate on the mountain, leading to a secondary avalanche.

Although the probability was relatively low—avalanches generally occur within 24 to 48 hours after new snow accumulation, when the snow layer is loose and the bonding structure is fragile, making it easy to form an unstable layer—if another avalanche were to occur, this mountain hollow might not remain as safe.

At this point, it’s even more impossible to abandon the vehicle and escape on foot.

Not to mention, they were isolated, with the nearest inhabited place being dozens of kilometers away, and the terrain they were trapped in was at the mountain top.

Below was the thick snow layer just swept by an avalanche, making movement difficult, with flying rocks and landslides along the way.

If it were just Li Younan alone, he might still attempt it, but taking Liu Li and Zhizhi along would be seeking death.

The car was well-stocked with food.

Thanks to Li Younan’s habit of restocking supplies before each departure, the fuel in the car was almost full, ensuring that even if they remained trapped here, heating and electricity wouldn’t be a problem.

The food was sufficient for three people for at least ten days—even with some wastage.

To know, there were just two bags of rice in the car, just eating these two bags of rice would see them through more than a month.

So undoubtedly, the best solution was to stay in the car and wait for rescue.

At this moment, the rescue team naturally couldn’t rashly come up; they had to wait for better weather.

Thinking of this, Li Younan jumped down from the driver’s cabin, carefully checking the RV’s electrical system, heating system, and water tank’s thermal exchange system.

His handling just now was extremely meticulous and perfect, leaving the vehicle virtually undamaged.

After a thorough check, Li Younan felt a lot more at ease.

Only then did he open the cabin door and crawl inside.

As soon as he entered the living area of the RV, the gaze of the two girls immediately turned his way.

...

Compared to dealing with an actual dilemma, what mattered more to Li Younan now was taking care of the girls’ emotions.

They were not the same as him, without any superhuman system support; facing such a dangerous situation, they must be terrified.

As Li Younan re-entered the living cabin, the two young women were sitting face to face at the booth.

Comparatively, Liu Li’s emotions seemed slightly more stable, whereas Zhizhi kept wiping tears from the corners of her eyes with tissue paper.

The owl, Tuantuan, stood on the coat rack by the door, still displaying an indifferent attitude, showing off its skill of rotating its head over 180 degrees with pride.

Li Younan walked over and absentmindedly ruffled the feathers on its head.

”Hoot hoot!”

Li Younan approached the two girls, speaking in as relaxed a tone as possible, ”Alright, you should have seen the current situation. I’ll give you a brief analysis: we encountered an avalanche.”

The atmosphere grew a bit quiet.

Li Younan then said, ”But don’t worry too much. First of all, it’ll be very safe for us to stay in this RV.”

”I just checked with the drone, and there won’t be any immediate additional dangers.”

”The RV has ample water and electricity, and plenty of food, enough to last at least ten days.”

”However, there are also some slightly unfavorable aspects—currently, the rescue team certainly can’t come up immediately, and it’s snowing outside again. I estimate we’ll have to wait at least five days before we can expect the rescue team.”

”Driving the vehicle out will take even more time.”

”Let’s make some arrangements now.”

Li Younan looked at Zhizhi, ”Do you have any spare food in your car?”

Zhizhi nodded immediately, ”Yes, I bought a lot of snacks in my car, and there’s still half a bag of rice and about two days’ worth of ingredients.”
