Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

”Help, my Brother Li was so handsome when he killed the bear. With that face and skill, he should debut right away. I’d be the first to follow him if he starred in a martial arts film. / Blushing.”

Of course, some comments were more straightforward: ”Honestly, setting Brother Li aside, these families are really touching. I see the way they stand by each other and protect one another, both in marriage and friendship. This is true friendship and love.”

”Are there bears in Suosong Village? Can we still go there?”

”Thinking about those ingrates who report their benefactors for acts of righteousness, the ones who post videos infringing on image rights, and those third-rate media outlets that promote such absurdity... haha, we cannot let the heroic actions of good Samaritans go unappreciated!”

This comment about righteousness quickly became highly upvoted.

Someone replied underneath.

”Yes! That’s the attitude we should have towards our saviors!”

”Exactly, kindness shouldn’t be wronged. So what if someone wants recognition?”

”That’s right, if I’m in danger, feel free to post me on the dark web, just make sure to save me!”

”Acts of heroism must be rewarded, even if not materially. We should at least praise them! I went and liked all of Li Younan’s videos, hehe.”

Li Younan scrolled through the comments and turned his head casually, only to see Liu Li in tears.

He couldn’t help but find it amusing: ”Did this move you again?”

Liu Li looked up: ”Your onion is making me cry.”

”...”

Only then did Li Younan realize he was holding half an onion and sheepishly walked away.

...

They continued to rest for another night in Suosong Village, and set off again the next day.

Their vehicle reached Linzhi, where they took a short break to resupply.

Since Li Younan and his group have a camper van, they weren’t restricted to populated areas for rest and could stop anywhere they pleased.

Driving along Route 318, the county next to Linzhi is Gongbujiangda, which not only hosts the largest Tibetan macaque habitat in the Tibetan Area but is also close to the Ba River’s hydroelectric stations, which are tributaries of the Yarlung Zangbo River.

More than 7,000 Tibetan macaques live here year-round, often seen in the forests by the national highway, and some even actively beg for food from tourists.

In terms of hydropower resources, there are many power stations here, and the density of water power far exceeds the average level of the midstream Yarlung Zangbo River, with the Tiger Mouth Hydropower Station dam standing 84 meters high.

These places are worth a look, as building hydropower stations in such deep mountain gorges is a project of great significance.

...

”If you have no leads, don’t call me! What difficulties? Don’t I have difficulties? The matter has reached the autonomous region level directly, bypassing the municipal level. Isn’t the pressure on me heavy?”

At this time, the county public security bureau chief was in a rage.

While Li Younan was leisurely heading towards the county, the entire county’s public security system was on high alert, with everyone’s nerves on edge.

They had been working overtime for two consecutive days and nights, and the state of the entire county could be described as ”thief-free”.

In the town, anyone with a criminal record who had recently appeared there was called into the police station for questioning.

The thunderous actions of the public security bureau made all the residents nervous, and people speculated about what exactly had been lost.

Later, those with previous convictions who were cleared of suspicion spread some news, suggesting that a briefcase was lost.

Not long after, the news also released a missing persons notice about that briefcase.

But the news didn’t say what was inside the case; it only mentioned that if anyone found it, they should contact the public security bureau immediately, offering a reward of 500,000 RMB for any valuable leads!

Compared to the public security system, more tense was a professor and his secretary.

The two had been at the public security bureau for two days, having not slept for two nights.

Compared to the public security bureau, the two were more aware of the significant importance of the materials inside this briefcase.

The briefcase contained a laptop and a USB drive with important research materials on the geological peculiarities of the Yarlung Zangbo, intended to support some upcoming national-level key projects.

The critical issue is, as highly confidential research institute materials, they couldn’t be transmitted over the network but were lost during the return trip at a small roadside town while eating lunch.

This loss made it impossible for the secretary to avoid responsibility.

Upon getting out of the car, he didn’t bring the briefcase and laptop with him, leaving them on the back seat, and because of the driver’s carelessness in forgetting to lock the car doors, the materials ultimately went missing.

The professor leveraged his connections, making several calls, even getting people from the capital involved, to push the pressure down to the local police who were tirelessly looking for the briefcase.

If it couldn’t be found… it would be a great trouble.

...

Li Younan’s vehicle arrived at Gongbujiangda.

The police had set up a checkpoint and were inspecting each outgoing vehicle one by one.

Li Younan was prepared to be checked, but when it was his turn, the officer simply asked where they came from, confirmed they’d just come from Linzhi, and let them go.

Li Younan was a bit disappointed.

He had hoped the officer would come aboard, see the state-protected owls he had, and ask a few questions, allowing him to nonchalantly present the related permits… and show off a bit.

After all, being able to keep state-protected animals as pets is quite prestigious.

Unfortunately, it didn’t happen.

The vehicle drove away.

But Li Younan looked back, puzzled.

He noticed that the officer was very strict with the cars leaving.
