Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

With the help and coordination of Yuan Ke, Li Younan successfully obtained legal custody documents for Tuantuan.

From now on, if they encounter checkpoints or inspections, there’s no need to worry about the police detaining it under the name of illegal hunting of nationally protected animals.

Arriving in the county town, network signal naturally became available.

Li Younan showed Yuan Ke his homepage, and only then did Yuan Ke realize that the young man in front of him was actually a social media influencer with tens of millions of followers.

In return, Li Younan expressed that if needed in the future, he could be invited to give lectures at their university.

This promise was made without the slightest arrogance. Whether it’s his expertise in ancient architecture, artifacts, or the botanical and zoological knowledge he’s shown, giving a lecture to university students would be a breeze for him; what he’s missing is just a formal academic credential.

Currently, the owl’s injuries still need several weeks of gentle care; it can’t fly just yet.

Keeping it around adds some fun to this trip, which is great.

If the little creature’s injuries heal and it wants to fly away, Li Younan certainly wouldn’t stop it.

After leaving Bomi, Li Younan’s next destination is Motuo.

To get to Motuo, there’s only one route for social vehicles, which is the Zhamo Highway.

Though the Zhamo Highway is not on Route 318, it makes no difference to Li Younan.

The so-called self-driving on Route 318 is a general direction for him, but when actually traveling, it’s impossible to strictly adhere to just this highway.

For instance, this Zhamo Highway might be the most fascinating stretch of the entire Route 318 trip; not experiencing it would be a real pity.

The Zhamo Highway follows the regulation of entry on even-numbered days and exit on odd-numbered days.

Liu Li and Li Younan went near the county town to replenish supplies, fully stocking the vehicle.

The distance from Bomi County town to the Galongla Tunnel entrance is 24 kilometers, and this section is not under traffic control, allowing Li Younan and Liu Li to drive all the way to the tunnel’s entrance.

Galongla Snow Mountain stands in front of the Galongla Tunnel entrance.

The mountain body reveals dark brown rocks, with patches of residual snow embedded in crevices, and some snow chunks slipping down the rock face, accumulating in low-lying areas at the mountain’s base.

The wind sweeps across the slopes, swirling tiny snowdust, and scattered debris from mountain collapses dot the roadway.

Distant mountain peaks are capped with thick snow; the edges merging with the gray-blue sky, sunlight illuminating the snow layers, reflecting faint light, creating contrasts on the exposed rock.

Sparse dwarf shrubs grow at the mountain’s base, their barren branches carrying small snowflakes, gently swaying as the wind passes, causing the snowflakes to tremble and fall.

Even though Liu Li has seen many snow-covered mountains before, upon arriving at the Galongla Tunnel entrance, he still finds himself awestruck by Galongla Snow Mountain.

Most snow mountains he previously saw were from afar, but this time, standing directly at the mountain’s base with its thick snow covering the entire landscape is truly a sight unseen before.

Li Younan, naturally, appears quite composed. After all, this snow mountain is considerably less impressive compared to the Gongga Mountain he previously climbed.

However, what Li Younan is more concerned about is another matter: the highway itself.

Motuo is China’s last county town to be accessible by road, a construction endeavor that took a full 58 years.

Only truly coming here can one genuinely feel why such a road took so long to build.

Any Chinese person witnessing this highway would sincerely feel proud of the nation’s strength.

It’s worth noting that this highway has virtually no economic value; only China would invest over 50 years and billions to build such a road with little tangible return.

Simply to ensure every county town nationwide is accessible by road.

With a small sigh, Li Younan didn’t rush to enter the tunnel.

The tunnel entrance is a vacant area where many choose to camp and stay for a while, quietly admiring the snow mountain.

At this moment, Li Younan also received a task notification from the system, confirming what he suspected: the task involves successfully reaching Motuo via this highway.

Li Younan looked out, where he saw that there was only one vehicle on the vacant area near the Galongla Snow Mountain tunnel entrance.

What surprised Li Younan, however, was that it was a small-displacement POLO.

Seeing this vehicle stirred Li Younan’s long-buried memories, reminding him of the girl Zhizhi he encountered when climbing Huang Mountain back then.

At that time, Li Younan met her by chance at the starry sky campsite in Huangjian Town.

A girl in her early twenties, just graduated from university, driving around in a second-hand POLO car, traveling and wandering aimlessly before starting work.

As they parted ways, Li Younan casually mentioned: ”You could take some videos with your phone.”

In the vast sea of people, there was almost no contact afterward.

Wait a minute!

Li Younan suddenly froze, then widened his eyes: ”Eh?”

...

The glaring pink POLO was parked by the roadside.

Beside it was a simple canopy, under which a rather pretty girl was sitting comfortably on a camping chair, wearing an Alalei baseball cap and a thick down jacket.

She held a big insulated cup in her hands, the type you can sip from.

Leisurely, she opened the cup lid, took a sip, then yawned, while chatting nonstop with a selfie-stick-mounted phone.
