Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

”Uh... no need to thank me for this...”

”Brother Li, I’ve watched all your videos. You’re really amazing, I’ve been following you closely! Just now, I was wondering if I’d run into you on the 318, and here we are...”

The two chatted as if no one was around. Suddenly, Li Younan thought of something and turned to look at Liu Li.

Liu Li was silent, just blinking her big eyes at them.

Noticing Li Younan’s gaze, Liu Li tilted her head slightly, ”What’s up?”

Li Younan shook his head, ”Nothing.”

...

They rested for a while under the Galongla Snow Mountain.

Li Younan took photos of the two of them and then invited Zhizhi for lunch in the RV.

Zhizhi couldn’t stop praising the vehicle, though she didn’t plan to stay there too long.

The plan was to set off after noon.

Zhizhi drove her car behind Li Younan’s vehicle.

Thinking it over, before they left, Li Younan lent Zhizhi a walkie-talkie.

After all, the upcoming road conditions would be very complicated. Although the Zhamo Highway is a proper highway, it’s about the toughest stretch of road nationwide.

Since it was Zhizhi’s first time driving to such places, her driving skills had improved over the past two years, but she was driving a low-power car, so it was expected to pay some care to the other party.

The vehicle entered the Galongla Tunnel.

At this moment, Liu Li was sitting in the passenger seat, leaning against the window, lost in thought.

Whenever Li Younan talked to her, she’d be daydreaming, often taking half a second to snap back to reality, then responding with ”Mm-hmm” or ”Ah-ah”.

The walkie-talkie was alive with Zhizhi’s chattering, babbling nonstop, asking questions and sharing interesting stories from her 318 road trip, whether Li Younan responded or not.

They quickly exited the Galongla Tunnel.

The steering wheel turned lightly, and the RV proceeded down the Zhamo Highway toward Motuo.

If it weren’t for this tunnel, getting through the pass to reach here would have been an incredibly difficult task.

Previously, delivering supplies to Motuo could only be done by pack animal and human carrying.

As he was reflecting on this, Li Younan suddenly felt an inexplicable tremor in his heart.

With both climbing and driving skills, Li Younan’s danger assessment was almost abnormal.

This tremor felt less like a sixth sense and more like an instinct—his eyes and ears had already processed the surrounding environment.

Li Younan suddenly looked toward the hillside on the left.

A few loose stones wrapped in light snow were rolling down from the mountaintop.

An avalanche!

The words ”avalanche” flashed in Li Younan’s mind.

Just a hint, but it was enough for Li Younan to have an almost Spider-Man-like sense of judgment.

And at this moment, his mind entered an unprecedented calm, and everything became clear and slow: wheels crunching over the cement road, the engine roaring, the rear-view mirror showing Zhizhi’s pink mini POLO lights still shining steadily, with subtle shattering sounds in the wind.

Li Younan looked up, a black crack appeared on the snow line of the left ridge.

He pressed the walkie-talkie, ”Zhizhi, stay close to my car!”

Zhizhi was clearly startled on the other end of the walkie-talkie, ”What’s going on, Brother Li?”

”No time to explain!”

As he spoke, Li Younan steered hard left on the wheel.

The tires climbed the slope, and with the car body tilting, he said into the walkie-talkie, ”Floor the accelerator!”

The vehicle veered off the road momentarily, grinding over the rocky slope, rushing toward a depression ahead.

The wheels sprayed snow grains as they rolled over the packed snow. Li Younan stared into the rear-view mirror—the pink POLO traced the same arc.

Alright, though a bit naive, the girl was decisive at critical moments.

Just then, the snow mass from the mountain peak collapsed with a roar.

A massive boom thundered as white snow waves accompanied by rocks swept down, uprooting trees and debris.

Fortunately, it wasn’t like in movies where you only reach safety at the last moment... Thanks to Li Younan’s foresight, he had instinctively completed route planning and made prior adjustments in a very short time.

Before the avalanche reached them, Li Younan and Zhizhi’s cars arrived at the depression in the mountain.

At that moment, the walkie-talkie transmitted Zhizhi’s panting breaths, clearly still shaken, Li Younan said, ”Pull the handbrake full, head down!”

The next moment, snow fog engulfed the windshield, vibrations roared downward.

Rocks absorbed the impact force, snow flowed to both sides.

...

It was a while before the outside quieted down.

Li Younan scraped the snow fog off the windshield, the road ahead had disappeared, and the path behind was sealed by piled snow walls.

The rock area exposed black ground, like an island in a river.

Zhizhi’s POLO was parked two or three meters to the side of his car, the windows covered in ice crystals.

Luckily, only a thin layer of snow had settled in this depression.

Li Younan let out a slight sigh of relief— the encounter just now, even considering his experience in Canada, was among the most dangerous.

However, the outcome wasn’t too bleak.

Only then did Li Younan look toward the passenger seat at Liu Li.

Liu Li was gripping the passenger’s armrest tightly, gently biting her lower lip. Her skin was already fair, but now looked even paler, bloodless, staring silently out the window.

Now noticing Li Younan’s gaze, she came to herself, turned, and looked at Li Younan.
