Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan smiled without arguing: ”There’s a bit of distortion when viewed through the binoculars, so let’s go up there and take a look, and you’ll understand.”

Yuan Ke immediately shook his head: ”That place is unreachable.”

Li Younan simply said calmly: ”It’s pretty easy to get up.”

Liu Li asked curiously from the side: ”What kind of plant is that? Is it very rare?”

Li Younan nodded: ”The Bomi slipper orchid requires a specific symbiotic fungus to sprout and grow, and it needs specific insects to pollinate, so it’s extremely rare.”

Upon hearing Li Younan casually describe the rare attributes of the Bomi slipper orchid, Yuan Ke felt a bit conflicted.

On one hand, he thought Li Younan was very professional; on the other hand, he was a bit unwilling to give up—wasn’t it clearly a new undiscovered species?

Li Younan looked at Yuan Ke: ”It won’t take long, let’s go over and check it out.”

Yuan Ke still held reservations about ”going over to check it out.”

He felt that the place was impossible to climb, but seeing Li Younan’s insistence, he knew well that those who achieve a certain level in a field often possess some stubbornness, confidence, or even arrogance, knowing persuasion is hard to work, and only really seeing the reality will make them believe, even he himself is like this.

So he no longer stopped Li Younan.

Soon, the three of them reached the bottom of the cliff Yuan Ke was talking about.

The nearly vertical cliff was a good twenty or thirty meters high, with no path to climb.

Yuan Ke helplessly smiled, with a ”See, I told you so” expression.

He checked the time, it was about to go down anyway, the guide was probably worried sick by now, and was ready to speak.

However, just then, Li Younan began to take off his backpack.

He took off his backpack, letting Liu Li watch it, then simply did a few warm-up exercises.

This scene immediately left Yuan Ke’s words stuck in his throat, his expression stunned,

Wait, what’s this guy doing?

Is he really going to climb up there? This place is above 3500 meters in altitude, facing a nearly vertical cliff!

Is this reasonable?

At this moment, Li Younan put on a pair of gloves.

To him, the small cliff in front was really not challenging at all. After all, his current climbing skills were exaggeratedly at Level 3.

Theoretically, as long any cliff in the world that someone can climb, he can definitely climb it; whereas the cliffs he can climb, others may not be able to.

Liu Li said worriedly: ”Be careful.”

Li Younan shrugged calmly: ”Don’t worry, it’s no problem.”

Yuan Ke quickly said nervously: ”Teacher Li, you... you... you’re not really going to climb up bare-handed, are you?”

”It won’t take more than a few minutes.”

”That’s not what I’m talking about!”

”Teacher Yuan, could you step aside for a moment?”

”Uh...”

Yuan Ke’s brain was still crashing, but Li Younan had already given a running start, sprinting up onto the cliff wall.

By the time Yuan Ke and Liu Li snapped back to reality, Li Younan’s body was already three or four meters high, one hand grasping a protruding rock, his whole body hanging on the cliff wall.

Next, Li Younan climbed upwards easily like a monkey.

He wasn’t climbing step-by-step; with a light pull of his hand, his body could leap up a distance.

For climbers like Li Younan, climbing slower doesn’t guarantee being safer; instead, plotting the route and climbing in one go saves energy and uses explosive force to quickly reach a safer spot.

Yuan Ke craned his neck, quickly seeing Li Younan’s figure disappear onto the rock wall.

Huh? Is this reasonable?

Not long after, Li Younan’s voice came from above: ”I’m here.”

Now, Li Younan had reached the plant.

The unique flowers, swollen lips, like a delicate pale yellow slipper adorned with purplish-brown spots, with spiral-curled side petals.

Li Younan sighed softly.

He also hoped he had made a mistake, but unfortunately, this was a Bomi slipper orchid that had already been discovered.

Li Younan didn’t collect samples; he just took some photos with his camera and then went down.

After showing the photos to Yuan Ke, the last glimmer of hope in Yuan Ke’s heart was also shattered, he looked somewhat complex at Li Younan, but no matter what, he was very grateful to Li Younan.

Soon, he quickly adjusted his mindset, sighing: ”Finding a new species isn’t an easy task!”

Li Younan simply smiled: ”Precisely because of this, discovering a new species is all the more delightful.”

Next was the return journey.

During the return journey, Li Younan and Yuan Ke naturally exchanged topics related to plants.

And the more they talked, the more Yuan Ke was shocked by Li Younan’s endless knowledge, even some things touching his blind spots.

He couldn’t imagine how someone non-major could have such profound knowledge of botany.

He earnestly said with admiration: ”Honestly, Teacher Li, you’d more than qualify to be a professor at our university.”

Li Younan laughed heartily: ”Compared to teaching, I still prefer wandering outside.”

Yuan Ke sincerely said with feeling: ”You’re not just an ordinary traveler, you’re a true explorer!”

While the two were chatting, Liu Li couldn’t join the conversation, so she crouched behind and played with the owl.

Li Younan glanced at Liu Li and suddenly thought of something. He said to Yuan Ke: ”By the way, Teacher Yuan, are you acquainted with the local forestry bureau staff?”

”Why do you ask?”

Li Younan pointed to the owl and said: ”I want to adopt this owl, but it’s quite difficult to handle the paperwork.”

Yuan Ke realized Li Younan’s intent at that moment.

Clearly, Li Younan did not trust the local animal protection agencies.

Which makes sense, considering Li Younan’s rich knowledge and practical skills, keeping the owl with him would provide better aid.

Despite being a traveler with limited energy, he’s still willing to contribute his efforts to protect wildlife, which greatly admired Yuan Ke.

Before Li Younan continued, he nodded: ”I understand your concern, I can help coordinate and assist you in obtaining proper adoption documentation.”

Li Younan blinked, is it really that smooth?
