Divine Level Witch Doctor

Chen Kaihua and Liu Lili said in unison, ”We’re happy to be your parents, too.”

Xiaochengcheng smiled, his face beaming with joy.

”I’m going now. Goodbye, Mom and Dad. I’ll remember you forever.”

He waved at Chen Kaihua and Liu Lili, then turned around and quickly vanished along with the beam of light.

”Dr. Zhao, where did my son go? And what was that beam of light just now?” Chen Kaihua hurriedly asked Zhao Yuan. At this moment, only Zhao Yuan could answer the questions plaguing their minds.

Zhao Yuan was examining the Negative Wish Power that Xiaochengcheng had given him.

The Negative Wish Power he gained from helping Xiaochengcheng break free from the shackles of his obsession and enter the cycle of reincarnation was far more potent than the Wish Power he had obtained from the Vengeful Spirits after slaying Mage Zhang.

However, before he could inspect it more closely, he heard Chen Kaihua’s question.

Zhao Yuan answered, ”If I’m not mistaken, that beam of light was the Light of Reincarnation. Your son has now embarked on the path to rebirth.”

”Will I be able to see him again someday?” Liu Lili asked urgently.

Zhao Yuan said, ”If fate allows, you may meet again. But, Ms. Liu, I suggest you don’t dwell too much on your grief. You need to live your own life well.”

Liu Lili nodded. ”I understand. I promised Xiaochengcheng that I would live each day happily and healthily. I will not go back on my word. I won’t let him down!”

”It’s best that you think that way.” Zhao Yuan smiled, then turned, walked to the window, and yanked the curtains open.

Sunlight streamed in, instantly dispelling the gloom within the consultation room.

Chen Kaihua was worried. ”Lili, put your cloak on, quickly! Don’t get burned by the sun.”

Zhao Yuan chuckled. ”Don’t worry. Xiaochengcheng has moved on to his next life, and the Ghost Qi on Ms. Liu has dissipated. She no longer fears the sun. Furthermore, the so-called split personality, the violence, the destruction of property—none of that will happen again. Of course, her mind and body have still sustained considerable damage, but these are no longer difficult problems. Conventional treatment will be enough for a full recovery!”

Chen Kaihua was still a little concerned, but when he looked closely, he saw that although the sunlight was shining on Liu Lili, she wasn’t in pain as she had been before. Instead, she had her eyes slightly narrowed, a look of pure enjoyment on her face. ”The sunlight on my skin... it’s so warm and comfortable.”

Seeing this, Chen Kaihua was finally able to relax.

His wife’s condition had truly improved a great deal.

He gripped Zhao Yuan’s hand tightly and said gratefully, ”Thank you, Dr. Zhao. Thank you so, so much!”

Liu Lili also came before Zhao Yuan and sincerely expressed her gratitude.

Zhao Yuan accepted their thanks, as well as their Wish Power, and added a warning, ”I need you to keep what happened here buried deep in your hearts. Don’t speak of it to anyone. Can you do that?”

After everything they had been through, Chen Kaihua and Liu Lili were convinced that Zhao Yuan was an extraordinary person with genuine abilities. They figured he wanted to maintain a low profile and not reveal his identity or skills, so they naturally wouldn’t refuse his request, and both nodded in agreement.

To be on the safe side, Zhao Yuan used an Enchanting Talisman to place a lock on both of their minds, ensuring they would be unable to tell anyone about this matter, no matter what.

After taking care of these matters, Zhao Yuan had Liu Lili lie back down on the hospital bed. He then instructed Chen Kaihua, ”Go and open the door to the consultation room. I need to write my orders and a prescription to treat Ms. Liu’s sores and her psychological trauma.”

”Okay.” Chen Kaihua nodded and turned to open the door.

Meanwhile, Zhao Yuan removed the Golden Needles he had previously inserted into Liu Lili’s head. After sterilizing them, he re-inserted them into a different set of acupoints. The points he chose this time were mainly to calm the spirit and soothe her shock.

Even though Xiaochengcheng was gone, Liu Lili had been living with guilt and regret for over two years, which had taken a toll on her psyche. But now that Xiaochengcheng had departed, treating these injuries became much simpler. Zhao Yuan was confident that with a combination of Acupuncture, medication, and counseling, Liu Lili could make a full recovery in just a few days.

When the consultation room door opened, the people waiting outside immediately poked their heads in to look.

They were surprised to find that the room was no longer dark and gloomy. Sunlight filled every corner, illuminating the space brightly. For some reason, however, the light fixture on the ceiling was shattered, and there were marks on a nearby wall, as if it had been struck by something metal.

’What happened in here? Did someone get into a fight?’ The crowd was full of questions.

”Zhao Yuan, can we come in?” Xiao Xianlin asked, looking like he was eager to observe but also afraid of disturbing him.

”Come in,” Zhao Yuan said. ”And someone grab me a pen and a prescription pad. I’m writing up my orders.”

Xiao Xianlin and the others filed in and stood beside Zhao Yuan, curiously observing Liu Lili on the hospital bed.

The Liu Lili before them now was completely different from the woman they remembered—the one who feared light and people, who was prone to extreme mood swings. Her current tranquility, in particular, left them utterly astonished.

No one believed this was a sign of significant improvement. After all, Zhao Yuan had only been in the consultation room for a little over half an hour. No matter how skilled a doctor he was, it was impossible for him to bring about such a drastic change in Liu Lili’s condition in just thirty minutes, right?

A reporter, shouldering a camera, entered the consultation room and resumed the live broadcast.

Someone brought a pen and a prescription pad. Zhao Yuan took them and quickly wrote out two prescriptions.

One for internal use, one for external.

For the internal prescription, Zhao Yuan chose a modified Gui Pi Soup, meant to benefit the spleen and nourish the heart, as well as supplement Qi and blood.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that mental illnesses have many causes, one of which is a deficiency of both the heart and spleen.

During the time Xiaochengcheng’s soul resided in Liu Lili’s body, the Ghost Qi and Yin Qi caused significant damage to her heart and spleen, which in turn harmed her psyche. To restore her mental health, her heart and spleen must first be replenished. Otherwise, if the root cause isn’t addressed, all other treatments would be useless.

The external formula was mainly to treat the nasty sores, blisters, and burns on Liu Lili’s body. For this, he chose a modified Eight Treasure Ointment to disinfect, expel pathogenic factors, invigorate blood, remove stasis, draw out pus, and promote tissue regeneration!

After writing the prescriptions, Zhao Yuan handed them to Xiao Xianlin and instructed, ”Elder Xiao, please have someone take these to the pharmacy and fill them. One should be decocted into a soup, the other prepared as an ointment. Have them sent here for Ms. Liu to take internally and apply externally.”

Xiao Xianlin took the prescriptions, but after a single glance, his expression changed dramatically.

The expert from the Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine team, who was in charge of monitoring Zhao Yuan, also leaned in. After getting a clear look at the contents of the two prescriptions, he let out a scornful smirk.
